A GORGEOUS Antique 1800's Victorian 10 Sided. Ruby Glass Perfume/Salts/Scent Bottle,with Double Sterling Silver Ends. This lovely 10 sided lay-down perfumer bottle is a unique size.Measuring only, 3 3/4" long,with approx. 3 1/2" circumference. Bottle fits in the hand perfectly,and has a lovely feel. Double ends are sterling silver,however unmarked,have been positively tested. One end screws off,and is cork lined inside the cap. Opposite end has a hinged cap,that flips open to reveal a gold gilded,fancy cut-out designed screen. This would be the end that held salts,back in the day. Antique, RARE Ruby Red Glass Victorian Perfume Bottle with Sterling Silver
Beautiful. Rare and elegant, with faceted glass and ornate repousse silver hinged flip top lid. Glass is hand-blown and a rich ruby red found in decorative glass pieces of the Victorian era. These bottles first appeared in the late 1700's, but it wasn't until the mid-1800's that they were in general use. Their popularity waned during the late 1800's, but they continued to be made until the turn of the century. This item is in excellent condition, the silver carved hinge lid in perfect working order, with only a slight unevenness to the silver caused by opening and closing the lid and a slight patina to the silver. The faceted glass has a few nicks, but overall, it is in perfect shape. The bottle may have been worn around a lady's neck, as was the style of the age. Generally, a customer purchased the perfume bottle empty ... moreand had it filled by a chemist or perfumier, as ready-filled bottles of perfume were not yet on the market. This one contains a remnant of the owners' original perfume content, now a dried out solid. Excellent, low price for high value, rare piece- check out similar items being sold on the web. Bottle measures approx. 2 3/8" tall by 1 1/4" wide at its widest part. Silver clasp top is approx. 7/8 of an inch in diameter.

Made of thick ruby red glass, the bottle is mounted inside elaborate bronze base and bottle neck with handles. Bronze have beautiful relief of vine leafs and grapes all around the bottle neck and on the bottom plate with bronze cut in shape of grape leafs. The stopper is tall, 6 panels cut,with frosted dauber which is marked on the bottom in red with number 93. The perfume bottle is in mint condition for it's age, there are 2 imperfections on glass,one near the neck,tiny cut in hot glass and pin head burst air bubble near the bottom. ELEGANT CUT TO CLEAR PERFUME ATOMIZER- MIKADO This auction is for a ruby cut to clear perfume atomizer stamped'Mikado' around the metal fitter on the glass bottle. The atomizer stands about 5" tall. The glass is in fine condition. No damage and minimal signs of scratch wear to the base from use or storage. The metal fittings show age wear and the threaded sprayer screws into the cap on the base, but not firmly. Although the sprayer is original to the base, I suspect that the threads on the bases cap are partially stripped. The hardware is also missing the cord and puffer ball. Most of this type bohemian glass was produced my the Sandwich Glass company. The bottle measures 7.5" tall to the top of the original stopper.The bottle has a beautiful wheel cut grape pattern around the body. Condition is excellent with no chips. Cracks, repairs or scratching to the flashed ruby finish.This blown bottle has a clear glass bottom with a nice pontil mark, no cloudiness to the bottle. 19th century ruby glass perfume bottle with stopper
This gorgeous. Octagonal perfume is a deep, pigeon's blood ruby red cased glass with stopper. Ruby glass is made by adding gold to molten glass. The deeper the color, the higher the gold content. Because of the high cost of gold, ruby glass pieces have always been made in smaller, craft quantities. This particular bottle is cased in ruby. If you were this old. You might have a defect or two. The third photo shows a flea bite on one of the edges. There is also a small scuff mark at the top of one of the vertical panels that will not photograph, even under a macro lens. It is noticeable upon close examination, but does not go anywhere near through the ruby flashing. No attempts were made to polish this out. Stopper has a V carved at the apex- this is not a defect. This is a rare re ruby or red glass perfume bottle. It is vintage and the bottle opening has a few chips. The clear feathered bottle opener has a small chip. Ruby Red Cased Glass Perfume Bottle, Crystal Stopper w Scent Dauber, Large, Rare
This listing is for a stunning Antique- Vintage Ruby Red Cased in Crystal Perfume Bottle with the Original Crystal Stopper and Scent Dauber. The bottle has an Art Deco shape with a broad base and arched panels. The piece has a red glass interior cased in crystal. The crystal casing is most apparent at the bottom and top rim. But is also visible on the edges from the proper angle. The base is ground flat and highly polished. The neck is ground and etched to fit the glass stopper. The stopper top is polished crystal with three rows of six panels. The crystal is amazing creating a prism effect with sunlight. The scent dauber is attached on the interior of the stopper with a white material. We've not seen this method of attaching the rod and are unsure what material is holding it in place. The dauber is very secure but does have slight wiggle ... morewith proper force. We've never seen this bottle style before with such stunning color. Quality, clarity and craftsmanship. The crystal portion glows slightly green under UV light. The red glows a bright orange. We'd guess the piece dates to the early 1900's due to the style, but could certainly be older. The quality, clarity and craftsmanship of the piece is indicative of French or Bohemian glass of the period, though there were artisans in America, England, Italy and others using similar techniques during the suspected period of production. The bottle measures 4 1/2" by 2 1/4" at the base. And 4 1/8" high without the stopper. The dauber measures 2 7/8" long. The stopper 6 1/4" from the rod to tip and 2 1/4" high when in place. With the stopper in place the bottle measures nearly 6 1/2" high and weighs 1 lb 2.1 oz. The stopper and dauber are in pristine condition with no cracks or chips. The grinding process on the stopper where it makes contact with the bottle is excellent with slight unevenness along the top edge. The crystal is impeccably clear. Minus the etched stopper portion of course. The dauber is fantastic and complete.

Gorgeous swirl pattern in red and white with a clear base. Approx 6" 7" Stopper top has a slight iridescent sheen. Any marks such as bright white dots or black dots are simply from my overhead multi-tier chandelier. There are no flaws or bad marks on this gorgeous collectible item. It's in outstanding condition. She has decided to write up a report on what is known about this company which we are pleased to publish on this website. The company started as a jobber or importer of various vanity items in the 1920's ... morein New York. The head of the company was named Irving W. Rice and he gave an abbrievation of his name to the company which appears on the distinctive silver and blue foil labels ever since- IRICE. The company still exists today in New York and every Christmas if you go to a drug store and look on the counter there will be a display of Irice atomizers. The company never made the items. They were importers and jobbers. So the perfume atomizers and bottles spanned a wide variety of qualities and countries. Irice brought in boxcar loads of Czechslovakian crystal before World War II. During the war. Irice used American companies and then after hostilities were over, the company began importing again, but this time from West Germany and the labels reflect this. Today most of the sources are in the Far East in Japan and later in Taiwan. Irice is located in New York City at 15 West 34th St. and continues to supply vanity items and perfume bottles to America.

Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is a beautiful Ruby Red glass Perfume Bottle cut back to clear. The ruby coloring is not"flashed" ~ this is true ruby glass. The cut design is very intricate and so delicate in some areas. The glass is heavy and it just has the feel of a quality glass piece. The internal glass syphon tube is intact. The gold tone metal collar and atomizer so have tiny scratches. And could use a bit of polishing, but everything is very secure. The bottom has a lovely cut star on it and there are light surface scratches on the bottom from being move around on surfaces. I have added a new black bulb& cord for you. When I squeeze the bulb I do feel strong puffs of air come out. I only found one teeny nibble to an edge and I tried to photograph but was too ... moresmall and just blended in with the cut design. No other chips, cracks or repairs noted. It is 6 5/8 inches tall to the top of the atomizer and the base is 2 1/8 inches in diameter. Cut and polished by hand. There is a little ding on the inside of the spout, but not chipped. Normal scratch pattern on base helps show the age.
