Location: Troy, United States We are listing today for your consideration a lovely Antique 19th Century Stoneware Saltglazed Cobalt Blue Flower Design 2 Gallon Ovoid Crock. This crock ... moreis in Excellent Condition with a few spider cracks on the base with 2 going through to the inside. 3 of them extend up the outside bottom of the crock. There are minor shallow chips to the upper rim. Both outside and inside. The crock is 100% structually sound, it rings true when you tap it and holds water no leaks. No other issues at all. The crock measures 12" tall x 10" wide x 8" at the mouth x 6 1/4" at the base and weighs approximately 10lb 10oz. The crock has an incised 2 below the one handle. A lovely large crock with a great ovoid shape and applied handles. It has a heavy and dark cobalt blue flower and leaf design that borders the top half of the crock. We believe this to be a Southern crock with a unique incised lined base border. A great larger crock with great cobalt blue that would make a wonderful addition to anyone's collection.
