ANTIQUE MINIATURE OAK SPLINT BUTTOCKS BASKET - 1-1/2 INCHES HIGH
Up for auction is an adorable miniature buttocks basket. Probably dating close to 100 years old. The basket is made of oak splints and an oak bentwood handle. The basket measures 1-3/8 inches high(the handle extends another inch. The maximum width on the basket is 2-1/4 inches and the opening is 2 inches across. The basket was made by a master weaver and I find absolutely no damage what-so-ever. There is a deep honey patina due to age. Please check out the photographs and thanks for looking.

This beautiful vintage Wallace Silverplate Butter/Jam dish was purchased new by my husband and me approximately thirty years ago. We have always used it as a butter dish. But it would also be perfect for serving jams and condiments. In would make a wonderful addition to a special bruch, as well. We have used it at most of our family and party gatherings, and at all of our holiday celebrations. On our honeymoon we visited family in Sweden and they made butter curls for our dinner rolls. I loved the idea and have always made butter curls to put in this dish. The silver tray measures approximately 7 1/4 inch across. And the cover measures approximately 4 1/2 inches across. The height is at 2 3/4 inches. Under the silverplate cover is a glass dish to accommodate your butter. This can be kept in the fridge until ready for use, thus keeping the ... morebutter cold. I love to make butter curls or butter balls to place in the glass dish. On the bottom of the tray you will find the original lable from Wallace. Plus the Royal Rose name and 9815. This piece is in excellent condition. There are no dents. Cracks, deep scratches or repairs. You will find the finish has a lovely patina for many years of celebrations. The entire ensemble has never seen the inside of a dishwasher. Always being hand washed and dried, in a non-smoking home. The Wallace pattern is Royal Rose. Which is evident with a rose being the handle. In addition you will see there is a rose on every other point of the serving tray. 1850s pre-Stanley HALL & KNAPP Level 29 1/2 inches long
Manufactured sometime in the 1850's. This 29 1/2" Hall& Knapp level is made of mahogany and trimmed with brass. Hall& Knapp was the company that the Stanley Works merged with in 1857 to become the Stanley Rule& Level Co. The Directory of American Toolmakers states that"the Stanley family had been making hardware in New Britain from 1831 on; they used a series of other names before they became the Stanley Works in 1852. In 1854. Brothers August and Timothy Stanley and Thomas Conklin(an earlier rule maker in Bristol, CT) formed[the August Stanley& Co. concurrently, they acquired the rule business of Seth Savage, Middletown, CT. In 1857, this company merged with Hall& Knapp as the Stanley Rule and Level Co. The level is not in perfect condition which is not surprising. Considering that it was manufactured in ... morethe 1850s. It is missing one screw on the top plate. The vials are intact and are, in fact, still very accurate. It was checked against a precision level in the machine shop and found it to be perfect in both planes. As you can imagine.
