Lancasters Ltd. Ye Olden Days" Cream and Sugar Set(Please scroll down for MORE photos) Here's a beautiful vintage cream and sugar set from the Lancaster's Ltd. English Ware series. This set has a scene depicting an English gentleman purchasing an apple while his coach and coachmen wait. There's a manor house in the background. This scene is labeled"The Olden Days" under the illustration. It appears on both sides of the sugar bowl. But just on one side of the creamer. Both pieces are edged in gold, and the creamer has a gold stripe on the handle. The sugar bowl is about 2-3/8" high at the rim. And the creamer is about the same height, at the tip of the spout. Both pieces are marked with an"English Ware" Lancasters mark in green. There is also an incised number- 169 on both. Both have the decorator's ... moremarks in gold also. The backstamps on each were used from 1938-1944, when Lancasters became Lancaster and Sandland. No chips. No cracks, nicks. Up for bid is this vintage Grindley Hotel Ware compote that says England Vitrified. It has beautiful hand painted cherries and leaves in the center. We have for your consideration a very pretty little Cream and Sugar Set by Lancaster Sandland of Hanley England. The Creamer or cream pitcher has an elegant spout and handle. Lined with silver, and surrounded by large silver leaves. The open sugar bowl is also lined with silver and covered with the large silver leaves as well. Two nice pieces made in Hanley, England. This pattern is discontinued. Made by Lancaster& Sandland, they produced china at the Dresden works in Hanley, Staffordshire from l944 until l968. This is a beautiful set.

Antique Ridgways Creamer Sugar Sunshine Ware Art Deco Pattern English Pottery
This is a very rare and unique creamer with lid and sugar in a fabulous art deco style. The background glaze is a light pink sponge over a white body. The hand painted floral is of a geometric style in black. Grays and offset with a deep rosy pink& bright yellow. Backstamp ~ Ridgways. Sunshine Ware. England. And an import stamp for Macy’ in the form of a ship in full sail. I believe this stamp is a symbol for Macy’s original store in New York that is considered their“Flagship” store. Circa ~ I have not been able to find information on this particular Ridgway mark however I have been able to bring in an approximate date of production. Noted is the name Ridgways verses Ridgway. This name change took place from 1879 and was in use until 1920. The location, England” Was added to the mark in 1891. In 1920 another change was the addition of ... moreLtd and/or Bedford Works which is not on these pieces. Therefore the Ridgways Sunshine Ware was manufactured sometime during 1891– 1920 and was a Macy’s export probably produced exclusively for Macy’s. Macy’s History ~ This is taken from Wikipedia; Macy's was founded by. Who between 1843 and 1855 opened four retail stores. Including the original Macy's store in downtown. Established in 1851 to serve the mill industry employees of the area. They all failed. But he learned from his mistakes. Macy moved to New York City in 1858 and established a new store named"R.H Macy Dry Goods" on between and. Which was far north of where other dry goods stores were at the time. On the company's first day of business on October 28. 1858 sales totaled US$11.08. Equal to $297.09 today.
