Pearlware Hand Painted Blue and White Sparrowbeak Cream Jug 1780. Handsome little sparrowbeak cream jug with freely painted geometric borders and flowers. Of pearlware(you can see the blue tint of the glaze wherever it pools) circa 1780. The applied reeded strap handle is particularly nice, as opposed to the more common plain strap handle. Possibly Leeds, but it is hard to ascribe this sort of jug to a particular pottery, as it was made by many during this period. The creamer is 3 3/4 inches tall and weighs only 4 oz(shipping weight under 1 lb) Condition: Good overall. No repairs. But a plate meant for serving somethng) It there had been a maker's mark for the porcelain sugar, that was covered with paint and glaze before low-firing. Sugar in an appealing shape, measures 6" handle to handle, 2.5" width, 2.75" high. Small plate measures 4.75" Not signed. The roses and forget-me-nots are nicely executed. Bit of sold missing from rims. The flake which makes a very small chip on end rim is shown in last couple of photos. BLUE DELFT ANTIQUE COW CREAMER This is a stunning BLUE DELFT/FLOW BLUE cow creamer. It is glazed and hand painted with blue. Has windmill on one side and ships on both sides. The cow is extremely well detailed. The body looks so real. The face, neck, legs body, all show the muscles, sinews, etc of the cow. The hooves are cloven. The hair on the tip of the tail, the udder with teats. This is a really amazing antique creamer. About 7" nose to tail. 5.25" at highest point. Just under 2" at widest area. There is one factory flaw on the top opening near where the end of the tail rest on the back, this is UNDER THE GLaze and so is from manufacturing process. But 2 of the teats on the udder are chipped. One a tiny bit the other about half way, these are the front ones. I have photgraphed all these items. Creamer: 4 1/2 inches with handle by 3 1/4 inches tall. Condition: Excellent- Never Used- Gilding is 99% Intact- The sugar shrank in firing- so it is not completely round- the lid is(see photos) The Creamer has one Very Small flake on the spout- very hard to see.
