Antique Brown Transferware Pitcher Creamer English Staffordshire Ironstone Vtg
This auction is for an antique little pitcher. Probably a creamer in brown transferware. It is English, possibly with the pattern name of Indiana. It is a little less than 4 inches tall and in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. It has an oriental or asian design. The bottom has the maker's mark which is partly rubbed off and I can't be sure of who made it. Below the maker's mark it says, England, Indiana" I suppose this piece could possibly have been part of a children's set with its small size. I believe ths piece is from the mid 1800's. It has a wonderfully undulating scalloped edge and a thick border with a background of blue moire and a repeat floral spray. Elongated octagon shaped brown transferware sugar bowl stands 6 ½” high to its Pagoda Shaped Acorn Finial. It measures 6” from end to end and 5 ½” in width. The scene depicted is of two figures fishing with Grecian Temples. Minarets and Onion Domes in the background. The border pattern is a diamond pattern with fleurs de lis or clovers on the cross-hatches. There are cartouches depicting exotic buildings on each of the eight sides below the waist. As well as on four of the lid sides and the top of the finial. This Sugar Bowl has some serious condition issues: It once had double. Uplift handles, neither of which have survived. The Pagoda Acorn Finial was broken off and restored. There is a ¼” chip on one of the octagonal points of the foot rim(see photo) There is some crazing. A few minor hairline age cracks and discoloration on the bowl; the lid is whiter but no indication that it is not original. Hello and thank you for looking! In this listing we have an antique Dresden sugar and creamer set with a globe stamp on the bottom in a brown transferware pattern with roses on it. I believe these are from a company called Potters Co in E. Liverpool. OH and are from the 1800's. The sugar bowl measures 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" and is in good pre-owned condition, there is a small chip on the bottom of the piece and a chip on the underneath of the lid as I've shown in the pictures. The creamer measures 4 1/4" x 3 3/4" tall and is in good pre-owned condition, just a very small chip on the bottom of the piece. Our items do not come from a pet-free. Brown underglaze transfer-decorated ironstone creamer decorated with the desirable"Peruvian Horse Hunt" pattern by Anthony Shaw(185- 1900) of Tunstall and Burslem. Staffordshire. This is a fine Romantic Staffordshire pattern, showing gauchos lassoing wild horses with the Andes in the background. This piece is unmarked; but you can look at some of my other listings to see Shaw's printed maker's mark. This pattern was registered on August 8, 1853, as shown by the British registry mark. Offered is a wonderful. Early, Brown Transferware Sugar Jar. This piece is an oval shape with an apron around the top, and side handles. It features a scene on either side with gothic structures, a deer, and foliage. It was produced by Ralph& James Clews in Cobridge, England circa 1815-1834, and retains their mark. The base of the jar has a horizontal hairline along one side. But no chips. There is some typical wear and age coloring. Here is a 19th century. Circa 1840, ironstone creamer or jug with a dark brown transferware and polychrome hand painted flowers. There is a crack behind the handle at the back of the creamer, and general all over crazing and glaze wear along the handles and high points. There is also a chip on the side of the base edge.
