Antique Staffordshire Flow Blue Sugar Bowl
You are bidding on an antique. Flow blue sugar bowl from the Staffordshire district of England. It is done in very deep blues- depicting country scenes on all sides- mountains, buildings, water, boats, people. The sugar bowl dates back to the 1800's and does have its issues. There are some little chips along the protruding lip and along the base. The bowl has no cracks but it does have"spiders" which show on the bottom and on the inside. Also. It apparently had a cover at one time which is now missing.

Toy Gaudy Welsh Flow Blue GRAPES Miniature Sugar Box c1865 Staffordshire
800x600 Gaudy Welsh Flow Blue Covered Sugar or Biscuit Jar GRAPES Staffordshire. England c. 1865 This is a stunning miniature sugar box or sucrier. Originally part of a complete tea set. The scarce porcelain jar is has a scalloped rim and gently raised base. It stands just 2 1/4” tall to the top of the button finial, and measures 3” across the squat body. Decorated in a dark flow blue or with polychrome iron red and green and pink lustre embellishments with a GRAPES motif. The lid. Which was a later substitute for the original, is decorated with more of a traditional imari pattern. The little sugar is beautifully made and light bodied. The decoration is very rich, with little white space remaining on the pot. It is unmarked. The form is sometimes attributed to Scottish potteries rather than the potteries in the Staffordshire district in the ... moremid-19th century. The sugar is in overall very good condition. The lid is not original but is a suitable fill-in until a more perfect fits comes along. The set has no chips cracks or repairs. Wear to the foot rim and mild patina along the foot. The lid has a steam hold. Indicating is was made to fit a teapot. It displays perfectly, an elegant form and stunning motif. This is a sweet piece. The sugar bowl is made of earthenware and it is hand-painted in the Amish Snowflake pattern which consists of a deep cobalt flow blue color with snowflakes and a herringbone style border. The bottom of the sugar bowl is not marked. But this pattern can be seen in Kelly& Kowalsky's Spongeware book on pg. 209. Overall the sugar bowl stands about 6 7/8" tall. Item Condition: The overall condition of the sugar bowl is excellent. It is very clean and there are no chips. Antique Early 1800s Staffordshire 8" Octagon Flow Blue Sugar Bowl Davenport Amoy
This is an early 1800's flow blue sugar bowl made by Davenport in Staffordshire England. I believe it is made of soft paste porcelain. It has an octagon or eight sided shape. The mark appears to be one of their earliest. The base is stamped with pattern name"Amoy" along with"Davenport" in capital letters and there is an impressed anchor with Davenport printed around it. The pattern is a very attractive deep flow blue. I have taken several pictures for your better understanding. I will be happy to answer any questions you might have. As to the condition; The bowl is in excellent condition. There are no chips. Cracks, or noticeable scratches. There are normal rub marks on the top corners. There are two tiny spots on the finish. One looks like it could be a flake off the glaze and the other appears to have been done in ... morethe making. Both are insignificant. The lid has three tiny chips on the corners and a few underneath. The handle on the lid has a small chip mostly on the underside. These are not noticeable without close inspection and do not affect the display. Everything is clearly shown in the pictures. For it's age, I would say it is in excellent antique condition. This sugar bowl is good size. It measures 8" high with the lid on. It is 6 1/4" wide from handle to handle. The top rim is 5 1/4" across from corner to corner and the base is 4 1/4" across from corner to corner. It weighs 1 lb. 7 oz. unpacked. We pack everything very carefully. It has a large chip on the lid edge; and crazing. Inside has crazing, darkening/staining. See all photos. Unmarked. Stands 7 1/2" high, about 6" wide. Still beautiful. The bowl is deep. Ebay Listing Page Antique Staffordshire Amish Snowflake Spongeware Cream Pitcher Item Description: Up for auction is a beautiful antique spongeware decorated cream pitcher made in England during the mid to late 1800s. The creamer is made of earthenware and it is hand-decorated in the Amish Snowflake pattern which consists of a deep cobalt flow blue color with snowflakes and a herringbone style border. The bottom of the creamer is not marked. But this pattern can be seen in Kelly& Kowalsky's Spongeware book on pg. 209. Overall the creamer stands approximately 4" in tall. Item Condition: The overall condition of the creamer is excellent. It is very clean and there are no chips. Cracks, or repaired areas. There is one tiny fleabite to the top rim, but that is it! The color is extremely nice with little to no wear and the glaze is ... morealso very nice with fine consistent crazing throughout and no rubbing or glaze loss to the rims. Pitcher measures 4 3/4" tall and sugar bowl measures 5 3/4" tall and 6 3/4" wide including handles. The pieces have no breaks or repairs. The sugar bowl has a chip on the outer rim near the handle and has several brown specks. Lines, etc. The pitcher has tanned and has 3 chips on the rim and a chip on the foot. There are are tan spots on the rim where the porcelain wore off? I've provide several photos so that you can see all of the small flaw details, so please view those closely for an accurate description. This sugar box came from an auction in Vermont. The lid is missing. It has wonderful deep. Rich blue color. There are no cracks. The rim where the lid would rest has a couple of chips and some chipping. There are other spots where there is some chipping, please see all pictures. It has use marks and scratch marks. The sugar box measures 5 1/8" high, 5 1/2" long, and 4 1/2" wide.

This sugar pot came from an auction in Vermont. The lid is missing. There is crackling in the glaze. Mostly on the bottom. The two handles have chips on the undersides that can be seen from the top a little. There is some chipping on the rim that holds the lid and some discoloration. There is a crack line inside the top of one handle but seems very secure and does not go through to the underside of the handle, see the last picture.

Here is a beautiful Flow Blue Argyle pattern creamer from Johnson Brothers(England) As you can see it has a little wear on the gilding around the top edge and it does have some crazing visible on the inside. Pictures do not show the crazing very well. Also. There is a small chip in the pour spout that looks like a manufacture error(Under the glaze) Also, some wear on the'feet' where the creamer has rested on the table these many years.
