This auction is for an antique little pitcher. Probably a creamer in brown transferware. It is English, possibly with the pattern name of Indiana. It is a little less than 4 inches tall and in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. It has an oriental or asian design. The bottom has the maker's mark which is partly rubbed off and I can't be sure of who made it. Below the maker's mark it says, England, Indiana" I suppose this piece could possibly have been part of a children's set with its small size. I believe ths piece is from the mid 1800's. Beautiful white ironstone creamer/pitcher in the Grape Octagon pattern. Pattern used as early as the 1820's but mostly made in the 1840's and 1850's by many manufacturers. Bottom is not marked so maker is unknown. Pitcher measures 6" high at spout. Has eight-split panels. A graceful top and ornate handle with grape leaves embossed at base. Has small area on spout with light crazing. One short, surface hairline on foot that does not go through. Bottom of foot has indentation done at manufacturing and one tiny glaze flake on base rim. Up for consideration is a vintage piece of Ironstone China! H. Burgess Ironstone china with the Tea leaf decoration. This is a creamer and the tea leaf is almost a copper color along with the matching color decoration at top of handle. Bottom is marked with the H. Burgess mark as seen in picture below. Welcome to Annsys Place! Here is a great White Ironstone Cream Pitcher which is made in the Sydenham Pattern. This pattern was made by T& R Boote in England circa: 1853-1854. This piece is marked on the bottom but it is difficult to read. It measures approximately 5 1/4 inches in height. I do not find any chips or major cracks on this piece. There is a faint hairline on the rim which is pictured for you. It is very faint and difficult to picture. This piece would make a great addition to any collection. This is a very desirable and sought after pattern making it difficult to obtain. It can be yours today! Shipping will be paid by the buyer. The pieces are marked"RIETI" I believe them to be Rieti ware from the New England Pottery Co. Boston Mass. I understand the shell logo was used from 1889 on. Each piece has four decorative landscape painted panels on each side. With alternating brown panels speckled with gold plus gold highlights. It looks like late 19th century ironstone set. There is crazing on both pieces ... moreand much of the gold has worn off. I see a few hairline cracks on the lip of the sugar lid, but I do not see any chips or other significant damage other than crazing and discoloration from age. THE SET IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION HOWEVER THERE ARE 2 SMALL CHIPS ON THE BACK OF THE SUGAR BOWL AT THE TOP AS YOU CAN SEE THEM IN PICTURE#4. OTHER THAN THAT THEY ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. Antique E.Walley Ironstone Creamer and Sugar with Green Scrolls of Copper Lustre
This is an ironstone sugar and creamer by E. Walley of England. They both have lovely scrolls of green with copper lustre and red flowers. The registration mark on the bottom of them indicate a date of 1856. The creamer is 5 1/2" high and 5 1/2" wide. The sugar is 4 1/4" high by 6 3/4" wide. The sugar does not have a lid and there are a couple of tiny chips on the inside lip. For their age. They are in wonderful condition, though and the copper lustre really shines under the light.
