Up for auction is an Antique R. Delinieres(and P. Guery) and Company(D& Co. of the La Taupiniere Porcelain Factory on Rue Albert Thomas. Limoges France(1860 to 1900) Hand Painted Open Sugar Bowl and Hand Painted Creamer(Cream Pitcher) Set with a Floral Pattern Consisting of Alternating Pink Roses& Purple Violets Sharing the same Stem and Leaf Pattern over a Gloss White Glaze Application Attributed to being Decorated in Limoges, France in"Excellent Plus" to"Near-Mint Condition" Used, Circa 1894 to 1900. I first want to explain that in the United States from the 1870s up until World War Two the biggest hobby in this country was painting on porcelain. You had amateur painters. Professional painters, professional porcelain decorating and painting studios and some American poreclain potteries had their own decorating ... moredepartments. One crucial piece of knowledege you kneed to know is that the vast majority of this porcelain artwork done by American porcelain artists was painted on blank white porcelain imported in from other countries, You had French Limoges porcelain, Bavarian porcelain(and it was its own state from 1806 to 1918) German porcelain, Austrian-Bohemian porcelain and some came from Nippon(which is Japan) and other Far East Asian countries. The reason for this was the United States was still in its infancy when it came to porcelain production and the imported porcelain blanks were much less expensive then our own American porcelain blanks in most cases. Because of this a common mistake is to attribute antique American painted porcelain as to being painted in the country on the backstamp. There was a law institued in 1891 by the United States requiring all goods imported into the U.S.A. to have the country of origin on it somewhere. Therefore we have an abundance of antique hand painted porcelain by Americans on blanks marked from another country. Or perhaps the pair are a sauce boat and sectioned condiment dish. Actually. I think condiment dish might be the best guess as the dish has narrowed points with each section-perfect for securing a little serving spoon. The creamer/ sauce boat is 4.25" at its widest and 2.5" tall. The divided dish is 5.5" at its longest and 2.75" tall. Both are decorated with hand painted flowers and a leaf pattern inside the dishes. They are unmarked and in very nice condition with no chips, cracks or breaks. Welcome! Up for consideration today is a beautiful three-toned luster ware. Sugar bowl. This hand painted sugar bowl features a floral design with a three-toned color scheme of beige, white, and blue. It does have a black accent stripe separating the design from the top of the bowl where the blue is located. There is some use wear on the bowl handles and on the blue knob on the top. There are no chips or cracks, and it has minimal scratches on the bowl. On the back of the bowl in the blue section there is a maker's flaw- please check the photos. Also, on the lid there does appear to be a very small section that might be chipped or it just lacking the glaze from when it was made- there is one chip on the underside of the lid rim. Gorgeous Hand Painted & Ribbed Fine Porcelain Creamer~ANTIQUE
This petite and delicate hand painted fine porcelain creamer is just stunning—so thin-walled that light penetrates easily. And so delicately painted that it has a flow blue look to it. Has fluted sides, and a fluted shape to the handle. The spout also has lovely lines. Has a decorative medallion on each side at the top, done in high relief. There is a hand painted sailing vessel with a tiny man in the stern on the front, and an equally tiny man in a tiny boat on the other side. The decoration has a decidedly Delft feel, making this piece both charming AND beautiful! Unsure maker or of exact age. But I believe this piece to be from the mid to late 1800s. This is a vintage creamer pitcher which is hand painted. It is a cream background with yellow. Lavender& pink tulips with green leaves. It is marked on the bottom in green MHK. There are 6 tulips, 3 on each side and each is a different color. It is very pretty and perfect for Spring. It would look great on display or for use. This is an old creamer and it was used. There are spots at the edge of the base. On handle and the tip where you pour from that have the glaze chipped away, however, that is not so noticable due to color. There is one spot on the leaf by the big lavender flower that has a chip like mark. There are some age lines in the glaze. Dainty eggshell thin white antique porcelain creamer. It is a molded type porcelain. It has embossed scrolls and flourishes in spots. Lie on the spout for example. The rounded bottom part of the pitcher has a swirled and ridged look. Very sweet little pitcher. It does have some gold loss on the handle and rim.
