But the underside has a purple number"1622" and what appears to be a"9" The creamer stands at just over 4 inches(10.5 cm) to the top of the handle. The body measures approximately 3.5 inches(9cm) at its widest spot. Quite a sturdy, little jug with a weight of about 6.5 ounces. Condition: No chips or cracks. There is some overall crazing to the glaze and significant staining throughout. The gold detail is also faded and rubbed off in many areas. Very minor loss to the purple enamels. Of pearlware(you can see the blue tint of the glaze wherever it pools) circa 1780. The applied reeded strap handle is particularly nice, as opposed to the more common plain strap handle. Possibly Leeds, but it is hard to ascribe this sort of jug to a particular pottery, as it was made by many during this period.
