Limoges France(1860 to 1900) Hand Painted Open Sugar Bowl and Hand Painted Creamer(Cream Pitcher) Set with a Floral Pattern Consisting of Alternating Pink Roses& Purple Violets Sharing the same Stem and Leaf Pattern over a Gloss White Glaze Application Attributed to being Decorated in Limoges, France in"Excellent Plus" to"Near-Mint Condition" Used, Circa 1894 to 1900. I first want to explain that in the United States from the 1870s up until World War Two the biggest hobby in this country was painting on porcelain. You had amateur painters. Professional painters, professional porcelain decorating and painting studios and some American poreclain potteries had their own decorating ... moredepartments. One crucial piece of knowledege you kneed to know is that the vast majority of this porcelain artwork done by American porcelain artists was painted on blank white porcelain imported in from other countries, You had French Limoges porcelain, Bavarian porcelain(and it was its own state from 1806 to 1918) German porcelain, Austrian-Bohemian porcelain and some came from Nippon(which is Japan) and other Far East Asian countries. The reason for this was the United States was still in its infancy when it came to porcelain production and the imported porcelain blanks were much less expensive then our own American porcelain blanks in most cases. Because of this a common mistake is to attribute antique American painted porcelain as to being painted in the country on the backstamp. There was a law institued in 1891 by the United States requiring all goods imported into the U.S.A. to have the country of origin on it somewhere. This is a Reinhold Schlegelmilch painted porcelain sugar bowl. It has the R S Germany mark used by this manufacturer between 1910 and 1920. It has delicate pink roses painted on the sides and lots of gold around the rim and the handles. It shows no wear. I have always kept it in a china cabinet on display but it is time to down-size. There is NO crazing. Cracks, chips, fleabites or damage to this piece.

Vintage Lusterware Japanese Floral Hand Painted Sugar Bowl
Welcome! Up for consideration today is a beautiful three-toned luster ware. Sugar bowl. This hand painted sugar bowl features a floral design with a three-toned color scheme of beige, white, and blue. It does have a black accent stripe separating the design from the top of the bowl where the blue is located. There is some use wear on the bowl handles and on the blue knob on the top. There are no chips or cracks, and it has minimal scratches on the bowl. On the back of the bowl in the blue section there is a maker's flaw- please check the photos. Also, on the lid there does appear to be a very small section that might be chipped or it just lacking the glaze from when it was made- there is one chip on the underside of the lid rim. This sugar bowl stands approximately 4 1/2 inches tall and measures almost 6 inches from handle to handle at ... morethe top. We are offering a pair of pre-World War II Noritake china pieces, a sugar bowl and creamer made in Japan by the Morimura Brothers. The green"M" in the wreath stamped on the bottom of both items(photo# above) indicates a production date between 1920- 1940. The shapes of both hand-painted pieces are unusual. They are lower. Rounder and more graceful than the usual Noritake sugar and creamers I have seen. They also have solid brown painted on the tops of their handles. Additionally, the orange-brown autumn sunset coloring has an unique band of blue, representing a shoreline, that wraps completely around each piece. Description: This auction is for a beautiful antique set by Richard Ginori Italy. Hand painted, signed by the artist, consisting of one porcelain sugar bowl with lid, one creamer. Painted with poppy flower décor, heavy gilt trim to the handles& rim. The sugar bowl& creamer are both signed, the name appears to possibly read C. Tappi. The sugar bowl is marked on the bottom with the underglaze green Ginori mark, the orange crown Ginori Italy mark, the hand painted in blue mark, the number 220 which is probably the pattern number. The creamer is marked as well(see photos) I believe this should date them to the 1800's. The sugar bowl measures approximately 6 inches(end of handle to handle) by 4 3/4 inches wide, 4 inches tall(to top of handle on the lid) The creamer measures approximately 5 inches by 3 3/4 inches wide, 3 inches ... moretall. Adorable hand painted creamer and sugar bowl. Primarily mint green with pink flowers with gold rim and topper on sugar bowl. Signed Mav. Donahoe. Country of origin unknown. Sugar bowl measures 6 1/2 inches across including handles. Creamer measures 4 3/4 inches high from spout to bottom and 4 3/4 inches wide from handle to spout. The sugar bowl does have a small chip on the rim of the lid. But if you turn it towards the back, it won't be seen. A picture of the chip is included in my pictures. This pair would make a beautiful display.

American Painted Porcelain" Porcelain Artware, American Art Pottery, Open Cream Pitcher and Sugar Bowl, Hand Painted with Pink Roses, Purple Violets and Green to Brown Leaves and Stems in the United States by an Unknown-Unidentified American Artist-Decorator over a Gloss White Glaze Application on Porcelain Blanks, Marked, D. Co. R. Delinieres and Company of the La Taupiniere Porcelain Factory on Rue Albert Thomas, Limoges France) 1860 to 1900 with both Items in"Excellent Plus" Used Condition. Circa Late 1800s to Early 1900s. I first want to explain that in the United States from the Mid 1870s until World War Two the biggest hobby in this country was painting on porcelain. Besides the amateur painters you also had professional painters. Professional porcelain decorating studios and some American ... moreporeclain potteries had their own decorating departments. One crucial piece of knowledege you need to know is that the vast majority of this porcelain artwork done by American porcelain artists was painted on blank white porcelain imported in from other countries, You had French Limoges porcelain, Bavarian porcelain(and Bavaria was its own kingdom from 1806 to 1918) German porcelain, Austrian-Bohemian porcelain and some came from Nippon(which is Japan) and other Far East Asian countries. The reason for this was the United States was still in its infancy when it came to porcelain production and the imported porcelain blanks were much less expensive to buy than our own American porcelain blanks in most cases. Because of this a common mistake is to attribute antique American painted porcelain as to being painted in the country on the backstamp. There was a law institued in 1891 by the United States requiring all goods imported into the U.S.A. to have the country of origin on it somewhere. Therefore we have an abundance of antique hand painted porcelain by Americans on blanks marked from another country. It can be hard at times to distinguish American Painted Porcelain versus Europ

MZ Austria Hand Painted Footed Covered Sugar Bowl
This beautiful hand painted footed sugar bowl is unmarked but it did have a matching creamer that was marked MZ Austria unfortunately my mother-in-law broke it and threw away the pieces. So other than my telling you I have no way to substantiate my claim. The detail of the painted flowers. The pure white of the porcelain, the shape and color of the gold work all point to a quality piece. It measures approx. 6" tall to the top of the lid handle by 5 1/2" across the body handles by 4" diameter at the widest part of the bowl. There are no cracks. Chips, crazing or cut marks. Antique Sugar Bowl Delinieres Limoges hand painted by White’s Art Co pre 1923 This unique and exquisite antique sugar bowl was handed down to me from my grandmother. It’s probably part of tea set but I have not found any other pieces like this to confirm that. It’s in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and only natural paint wear on the handles and at the top rim where the lid sets. What seems to be a paint blemish on the right side of the rim(see picture#6) appears to be White’s Art Co triangular stamp. It measures almost 3 inches tall. 5 inches wide from handle to handle, it has a 3 inch circumference top and a 3.5 inch circumference bottom. The porcelain blank was made by The Delinieres& Co from Limoges. France and the D&Co mark dates its manufacturing between 1894 and 1900. The intricate Gold painted roses in art deco ... morestyle were done by White’s Art Co of Chicago. The White's Studio of Chicago operated as a decorating Studio from 1914-1923 in downtown Chicago. During this era they produced hand painted wares that matched the great studios of the day including Pickard. Brauer, Donath, Osborne, and Stouffer. A number of their artists also decorated at the Pickard Studio, as well as other less known decorating studios. In fact, this piece looks very much like a Pickard piece but the famous red triangle mark of White’s Art Co proves otherwise. See Reed's Pickard Collectors Book for more information on this fine period studio(P.301-304) This beautiful piece glistens just like gold nuggets do in the sunshine though I have no proof that the paint actually contains pure gold.
