Charming and functional oblong-octagonal covered serving dish. It is not signed. But is exactly like the two signed pieces of signed Rangoon I have listed, and seems to be the same age, not a modern replica. Rangoon" is earthernware with a brown transfer pattern. Made between 1891-3 at the Bleaks Hill Works, Burslem, Stoke-On-Trent, England by F.J. Emery. It is in the Aesthetic Style of the late 1880s, Japonisme style. A complicated(but not fussy) pattern of cherry blossoms, birds, chrysanthemums, and a geometric border. Brown design on a cream-colored pottery. Signed with Emery, a circle with a design of two creatures inside, Burslem, England, and Rangoon encircled at top. Condition: Quite good except for one chip on edge of cover. However. This is under the glaze, so seems to be original. See photos. This is a creamer and the tea leaf is almost a copper color along with the matching color decoration at top of handle. Bottom is marked with the H. Burgess mark as seen in picture below.
