This beautiful 3 piece set is up for auction. It was my Grandmothers born in 1901. I believe this is from the twenty's. The sugar bowl and creamer are in great condition. The cake plate does have some tarnish that I did not try to clean fearing it mat hurt it's collect-ability. I'm down scaling to an apartment and must let some of my treasures go. These are marked Favorite Bavaria on the bottom and are signed by the artist Emma Gerhard and are dated 1910. Both are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and very little wear from use. The creamer measures about 5" from handle to spout and is about 4" tall. The sugar bowl measures about 5 1/2" from handle to handle and is also about 4" tall. Up for auction is an Antique R. Delinieres(and P. Guery) and Company(D& Co. of the La Taupiniere Porcelain Factory on Rue Albert Thomas. Limoges France(1860 to 1900) Hand Painted Open Sugar Bowl and Hand Painted Creamer(Cream Pitcher) Set with a Floral Pattern Consisting of Alternating Pink Roses& Purple Violets Sharing the same Stem and Leaf Pattern over a Gloss White Glaze Application Attributed to being Decorated in Limoges, France in"Excellent Plus" to"Near-Mint Condition" Used, Circa 1894 to 1900. I first want to explain that in the United States from the 1870s up until World War Two the biggest hobby in this country was painting on porcelain. You had amateur painters. Professional painters, professional porcelain decorating and painting studios and some American poreclain potteries had their own decorating ... moredepartments. One crucial piece of knowledege you kneed to know is that the vast majority of this porcelain artwork done by American porcelain artists was painted on blank white porcelain imported in from other countries, You had French Limoges porcelain, Bavarian porcelain(and it was its own state from 1806 to 1918) German porcelain, Austrian-Bohemian porcelain and some came from Nippon(which is Japan) and other Far East Asian countries. The reason for this was the United States was still in its infancy when it came to porcelain production and the imported porcelain blanks were much less expensive then our own American porcelain blanks in most cases. Because of this a common mistake is to attribute antique American painted porcelain as to being painted in the country on the backstamp. There was a law institued in 1891 by the United States requiring all goods imported into the U.S.A. to have the country of origin on it somewhere. Therefore we have an abundance of antique hand painted porcelain by Americans on blanks marked from another country. The gold shows virtually no wear and the only imperfection that I can find is a small dark spot on the gold lid of the sugar bowl that can be seen in the third picture. This beautiful antique set has beautiful hand-painted water lilies and gold decoration on a pale luster background. The mold for this porcelain set. Was very decorative and dainty, with lace and beading decoration in the mold. The luster around the base is a light green. Please see item description for full item details. This scene is labeled"The Olden Days" under the illustration. It appears on both sides of the sugar bowl. But just on one side of the creamer. Both pieces are edged in gold, and the creamer has a gold stripe on the handle. The sugar bowl is about 2-3/8" high at the rim. And the creamer is about the same height, at the tip of the spout. Pre-1915 Imperial Crown China Austria Creamer and Sugar Bowl
The auction is for a creamer and sugar bowl set imported by Bawo and Dotter. New York for sale to the US market. The pieces have a delicate rose floral pattern and have gold accented handles. Both pieces are in excellent condition. The Imperial Crown China Austria logo was the pottery mark of the decorator and importer. It was the mark of Bawo and Dotter who decorated blanks at their studio in Fischern. Bohemia- now known as Rybáře, Carlsbad in the Czech Republic. Their corporate office was located in New York- they also had a decorating plant in Limoges, France. They were founded 1883 and ceased operations in 1914. John Maddock 1907+ Large Creamer and Sugar Bowl
What a wonderful set! My mother had these on her kitchen table for years. She loved all the older stuff. And I followed right in her footsteps. This is a creamer and sugar bowl marked- John Maddock& Sons Ltd. England, Royal Vitreous. In my book, it dates 1907+. I think the pictures tell most of it. Let's start with the creamer. 5 1/4" x 5 1/2" x 4" measurements with capacity of 2 cups fills to indent of neck. You can see the pattern. But you may not see the hints of blue, pink, and yellow with all the brown.The gold has worn off the rim and at one time maybe it was on the handle too, but not any more. I put picture 4 in the show, no damage to the lip. I find no cracks or chips or crazing, w hich really surprises me. The sugar bowl is 7" tall x 7" w/handles wide x 5" wide. The lid has no chips or cracks. ... moreWhich surprises me again since I grew up in that house and I can't believe we didn't chip the sugar bowl lid. What great kids we must have been! The bowl has no chips or cracks or crazing either. Pretty cool! BUT if you look in Picture 6 left side handle, it does have a slight separation on the bottom. It's probably been like that for years, but I thought I should mention it. There is little or no gold left on any of the handles, which is understandable since it was used daily for years. This is a line mark around the bottom of the bulbous part of the sugar bowl. I can't tell what made it or if it can be cleaned off. I don't think it's a big thing. If you have any questions. Antique Leuchtenburg Sugar Bowl w/Lid & Creamer Germany 1895 to 1937
Estate Sale Find Up for auction is a sugar bowl and creamer set from Leuchtenburg Germany. There is very little information available on Leuchtenburg. But I did find that they were a manufacturer of porcelain from 1895 to 1937. The set features a sugar bowl with lid and a creamer/milk jug in a pearly white with a floral design of pink and white roses with yellow and green leaves. The feet and the top of the lid are a pale grey-green color. The edges of both pieces are scalloped and there is some white embossing on the lid and on the body of both. There is one minor flaw– on one handle of the sugar bowl. The little top decoration is broken off(you can see this in photo 2) but it feels smooth and is barely noticeable. This aside, the set is in excellent condition for its age and came from a collection of German/Austrian porcelain that had been ... moreextremely well looked after. Unusual Heavily Gilded Limoges Creamer and Sugar Bowl Set, c1900
Offered here is a rather unusual Limoges creamer and sugar dating to about 1900. The rims and handles are darkly gilded with the sprig accents are more brightly gilded and raised off the surface. The sugar measures about 6" across the handle and is a little shy of 4 1/2" tall to the top of the finial. The creamer is 5 1/4" across handle and spout and 3 3/4" tall to the top of the handle. Both pieces are in clean perfect condition with very little to report in the way of wear to the gilding.
