The plant merged with the International Silver Company, a consortium of Connecticut silver companies. OUTSTANDING! Just the way it is! The wear of the silverplating makes this basket more handsome than if it were all shiney. It stands 19 1/2" from bottom to top of handle. The ends are 8 1/2" from floor to top edge, it measures 8 1/2" across from handle to handle, inside measurement end to end is 13" base is 8 1/4" long and 6" wide. It has beautiful thick demensional flowers and scroll around top. The front and back is all cut open work with area for monograms, but there isn't any engraving on them. The top of the handle also has an engraving plate with nothing on it. Stamped on the bottom: DERBY SILVER COMPANY,anchor with crown) and 1218. It is very heavy about 5 pounds, that is why the postage seems high. However, I include tracking number and insurance in that. The quadruple silver plate holder was manufactured by the Derby Silver Company of De rby. Connecticut. And bears the company stamping as shown in the photo arra y. The holder features a cher ub at the top of the handle. And four legs adorned with griffins. You will find wear to the silver. Customary and expected given the nature and use. The photos accurately sho w the condition. One area I didn't get to include is the underneath side of the holder and that also shows wear to the silver. Message me if you have concerns and would like to see pictures of the under side of the bowl well. As you can see in the photos. The raised details are quite intricate. I love the figural Gothic Revival renderin gs on the feet! The ... morecrimped and fluted bowl displays a color fade done in the distinctive style of peachblow. The center is opalescent white which de epens along the wall to a s oft lilac and intensifies at the crest to a royal purple or eggplant. The color of this art glass is just as relevant in today's palette as it was when it was crafted. A clear rim encircles the margin. And the effect is stunning in sunlight. Obvious to all who photograph art glass. The white shimmers on the bowl are merel y flash from the sunlight hitting the surface. I don't find any breaks. Bends, chips. Cracks or signs of repairs to either the holder or the brides bowl. The holder does sit level on a flat surface. This set is being sold No Reserve. And is as we acquired it. I have no idea whether th e pieces are original to each other or married. Either way. It's irrelevant because the display is top-shelf fa bulous! Overall the holder measures 13" high and 10-1/4" across the widest part of the handle. The well where the bowl foot sits measures 4-5/8" across the top rim and approximately 2- 3/4" inside the well. Victorian Silverplate Butter Dish made by the Derby Silverplate Co. C.1895-1900. Three pieces with original cut glass liner. Unusual oval form. The paneled design would have been termed Colonial Revival when this was made. No dents, silver loss as shown in the photos, primarily along the sharp lines that separate the panels. The loss looks much worse in the photos than in person, this butter dish is very charming in person. Thia butter dish was heavily tarnished when I acquired it, while polishing it, I noticed that one of the hooks for the butter knife was loose, upon close inspection I saw that it had been pushed into the area to which it was attached(see photos 7& 8) this can be fixed by resoldering the area around and behind the hook by someone who knows what they're doing. I stopped polishing in this area once I saw the reason ... morefor the loose hook. The cut glass liner has no chips or other imperfections and the interior's condition is much better than most other butter dishes of this age that I have had in the past. This is a nice Victorian era butter dish with an unusual shape and pleasing form. 6" tall with the lid in place, 8" wide across the handles and 5 1/2" deep including the hooks for the butter knife. Antique Derby Silver Co. flask dating to the 1800s. Heavy repousse pattern of flowers and stars with a fan like detail on the collar and base. Great workmanship in this piece as it is well made and heavy. The lid screws off and expands into a small cup for drinking. Lid is monogrammed with what looks like"EJ" or"FJ" There is quite a bit of plate loss that doesn't show in all the pictures. The top where the monogram is has spots of loss and one side has more plate loss than the other. Picture 1 is one side and Picture 2 is the other side although you can't really tell the difference. The bottom is curved and the flask does not stand up on it's own but is meant to lie flat. I have seen other pieces like this but not one in this good condition with the lid intact and working. Great piece to add to any collection!

LARGE 18th CENTURY DERBY PORCELAIN FIGURE RANELAGH DANCER c1770 Presented is a Derby porcelain figure from England that dates to circa 1765-70! This figure is most likely of a famous leading actor of the time. We believe it is part of the Ranelagh Dancers of Derby because of the placement of its hands and posture. The figure is holding a posy in his outstretched hand. On a scroll-molded base. Flowery, leafy branches are on both sides of him. He is wearing a green and red cape over a white shirt with a yellow rim and red, blue, and yellow flowers. He has brown eyes and black hair. The condition is excellent. There are some flakes to the paint/glaze( the worst of which is shown in the last photograph to part of the green cape) and many of the leaves and flower petals have ... morebroken off. His left hand was broken off and has been repaired. The fingers on his left hand have also been repaired. Please see the photographs below. His hat has been repainted in the front and what appears to have been feathers or leaves on his hat have broken off. There are a couple of natural fissures that occurred in the making. The glaze has flowed into these and they should not be considered damage. One is on his shoulder over the green cape, and the other is along his pigtail. The figure stands 13 inches high. Vintage DERBY SILVERPLATE Ice Water Pitcher Silver plate/ Enamel Liner HUGE! I did not try to clean this in case someone wanted the vintage look! This pitcher is huge! It weighs over 5 lbs. and it is approx. 14" tall. The bottom diameter is 7 1/8" and the top diameter is 5 3/4" The inside has an enamel insert(cannot be removed) that has very minor spotting on the bottom. This is still very usable. There are no huge dents in this or like damage.it does have a very couple minor dings that are really hard to see and I couldn't get them to show up in photos with the exception of one on the lip near the spout(that's the worst one and it looks much worse in the photo than in person) Other sellers would likely describe this as"wear consistent with age" but I try to be as detailed as possible. Vintage Avon "Winner's Circle" Stein/Tankard Depicts Derby 1991 MINT
Up for auction this vintage Avon tankard/stein. It is dated 1992 and is in 100% mint condition. The stein itself is made of a ceramic material and the lid is made of pewter and has a porcelain/ceramic inlay. On the top is a figure of a race horse and jockey. Underneath the lid is an etching of a horse in the center of a horse shoe. It is very detailed. The back of the lid has a saddle made of pewter. The detail is so amazing I wish I could capture it in a photo. The handle is ornately painted with stirrups and bridle. On the stein there are several different derby scenes with horses and jockeys. 1760s English Soft Paste Porcelain 5 inch Figurine (Spring; Derby?, Bow?, or?)
Soft paste Porcelain Putto symbolic of Spring(one of the Four Seasons) with applied leaves. Florets with egg yellow& black centers, braided hair and minimal additional enameled decoration on a plain base with very minor damage and dating from the late 1750s or 1760s(for full details, continue reading below) Welcome to a mid-winter February Special Sale Listing and. enjoy! ITEM DETAILS: Wonderful early English porcelain figurine of a female child with braided hair carrying a basket of flowers on a simple base adorned with leaves and flower heads(symbolic of Spring in a four seasons theme) The young person is leaning against a short tree stump and wearing puce and soft blue drape around her left hip. The figurine is well painted with her brown hair finely detailed to accent her long braid formed into a circle and ending in a tight knot(see ... moreclose-up photo) Her brown hair is not painted with a brush but instead scratched with a fine needle to remove some coloring so that one can see both individual strands and braiding. Her face is also expertly painted with her eyebrows again painted with a single hair as a brush and painted in brown and made from placing 12 to 15 short curving brush strokes each. Her eyes have black pupils set within brown irises and each also has a small red tear duct in the corner. The girls nose has her nostrils outlined in light brown and her lips are colored blood red. Other details include small applied flowers with six pedals and bright yellow(egg yellow) centers topped with a tiny dark blackish-brown dot. Other important characteristics include two distinct shades of green on the applied leaves: a common green(translucent grassy green) and a bluish-green(weak turquoise green) Some of the iron red flowers were painted using a fine single hair brush and taking 25 to 30 individual brush strokes. Hi. You're buying 1 Official 1963 Kentucky derby Churchill Downs Glass. It has no damage. Has never been used before and was stored safely for years. In addition to the race itself. A number of traditions play a large role in the Derby atmosphere. The mint julep, an iced drink consisting of bourbon, mint and a sugar syrup, is the traditional beverage of the race. The historic drink can be served in an ice-frosted silver julep cup, but most Churchill Downs patrons sip theirs from souvenir glasses(first offered in 1939 and available in revised form each year since) printed with all previous Derby winners.

This sale is for the antique silverplate covered server in the title above and the photos below. This silverplate server in in poor to fair condition. Due to the missing finger pull for the cover, the scratches in the silverplate from years and years of use and the tarnish. The gadrooned rolled beading is in good condition. This covered server will need a good polishing with Wrights silver cream. Photos were taken outside. With the cover on, server measures 11 1/8" long, 8 1/8" across, 2 5/8" tall and weighs 1lb. 8.7ozs. 1923 Kentucky Derby program-Morvich cover-Zev-Kentucky Jockey club-RARE !!!
This listing is for a VERY RARE 1923 Kentucky Derby program from the Kentucky Jockey Club. With a color version of Morvich on the cover, won that year by Zev, with hall of fame jockey Earl Sande up.In all the years I collected programs, this one was the most difficult to find. It is in excellent condition. Front and back covers look great.There is the traditional fold in the middle. No tears or markings on the covers. There is light pencil markings throughout.There were 24 entries in the race. This program is unusual in that the Derby was not run on the first Saturday in May, it was ran on May 19th. This is a used Gatti-Land Carnival style horse race derby. 8 players roll balls up a ramp to speed their horses in a race to win a prize. This includes speaker and microphone for an attendant.
