Beautiful iron lightning rod/weathervane with cobalt blue glass ball and hollow pig without bullet holes. I have never seen one of these rods with a pig in better condition. Rod stands 36" tall with a 22 1/2" arrow. Pig measures 8 1/2" long X 4 5/8" high. Has a small hole in the top which shows in the picture. Ball is 4 1/2" across with a crack on one side. I have tried to show this crack in the picture. Will not deter from displaying this beautiful piece as it's only on one side. This is truly a beautiful lightning rod/weathervane. The spire looks to be mostly copper with a brass tube section at the base. The copper feels heavy and not thin or cheaply made. This auction is for the one spire. MASSIVE 32" Horse Weathervane/ Lightning rod Antique Vintage Copper Brass Horse measures approx. 31" x 17" and the whole piece measures approx. 33" long x 20" tall. It is being sold as found. It will need to be reattached to the pole. I do not know what the head is made from but it looks like brass(just not positive) and I do not know how old it is but it looks very old. As pictured. Up for auction is this Vintage Horse Featured Weathervane with N-S-E-W Directional. The horse piece is approx 23" long and the directional is approx 19" long and 11 1/2" wide. I pulled them out of the same barn sale. However I'm not sure if they go together, and if they do, not sure how to attach them to each other. I'll leave that to the vintage restorers. The directional has some sort of roof mount on it. The condition is vintage good with some rust on the weathervane, but a nice candidate for some sanding and repainting. Hello. This auction contains one beautiful piece! This is a 100% authentic vintage W.C. Shinn MFG CO white milk glass lightning rod ball! Please see pictures, this is a super nice vintage piece! As you can see in the pictures it has W.C name across the middle of the ball. The lettering sticks out at you, very nice clean lettering! Pictures of every view! The top is perfect no breaks in the end. The grove for the cap is perfect! The bottom spout end is also very nice! no breaks, cracks and has perfect groves for the cap! The only spot on this piece is the very bottom spout piece there is a micro area of cleanable rust. Should be able to see in pictures! Not a big deal at all on this item! The end caps would cove that area anyhow. The whole ball is solid with no cracks or any problems! Coloring of the the white milk glass is very nice and just ... moreis as how it shouls be! The only minor problem is the end caps are missing but they are so easy and inexspensive to replace and you would have a even more wonderful piece for your project or whatever you use it for once you added those! WEATHER VANE: Antique Piglet. Gilded Copper& Iron, 28" Tall x 20.25" Wide If you set your monitor at FULL SCREEN from TOOLS you will be better able to view the photos. This is a very charming Weather Vane featuring a Piglet which I bought in New Hampshire years ago. West of Nashua, near Milford Circle. It also served originally as a lightning rod. I removed the bottom end of the vertical supporting rod which had the remnants of the cables attached and placed the wooden block to give the rod its original height. The tripod support and the arrow are iron. The Piglet. Balls and top spike are all gilded copper. The piglet and top spike seem to have a mustard colored undercoat, which many of these old vanes have. When the gilding begins to wear, this undercoat helps to make it less apparent from a distance. This Weather Vane measures ... more28 inches tall and 20 1/4 inches wide. The tripod support is 11 1/2 inches tall. The arrow, 20 1/4 inches long. The Piglet himself is 9 inches long from his snout to his curly tail and 5 1/4 inches tall. The balls are 3 3/4 inches and 2 1/2 inches in diameter respectively. The spike at the top rises 6 1/4 inches from the small ball. Much of the gilding is worn away and the vertical rod has a great coat of verdigris. Fascinating antique casting which has cast in bark like grain to the bracket. This was used to hold the snow eagle on the roof. To prevent snow slides over doorways. This is a great Weather Vane which I acquired on Charles Street in Boston. At the foot of Beacon Hill. These Grasshopper Weather Vanes are popular in Massachusetts because of the famous one atop Fanueil Hall. The main difference between this one and the one on Fanueil Hall is that this one does not have the spike going through his body. Which looks a little more comfortable to me. But this one does have the green glass eyes. The gilded grasshopper on Fanueil hall was created by Deacon Shem Drowne in 1742. Gilded with gold leaf. Vintage Lightning Rod Rods One Twisted Stand Both Copper Tipped
For sale is a pair of vintage(maybe antique) lightning rods. Puchased recently in SE Kansas. I know little about these. But here's what I do know; They are 54" tall and are supported via a metal tripod system. Which I am not exactly sure how it works? They are bluish so I am assume the main pole is copper. They have a fitted tip over the top that is very sharp. I will build a box around these or you can pick up locally. I have a pair of glass globes in another auction. Thanks.

2 Vintage Powder Blue & White Milk Glass Round Lightning Rod Balls
For sale is a pair of vintage lightning rod balls. may be antique. These came from the farm country of Southeast Kansas from an Antique Dealers auction. In another auction I will list 2 metal vanes. The balls. One blue and one white appear to be like milk glass. The blue one has been used and has come chipping around both of its 1.25" lips. The white one has a pair of plastic fasteners attached and I notice some chipping on one end. This need cleaning. But otherwise I do not see any condition issues. About 5" long; softball size. Cherry Red Pendant Lightning Rod Ball Pendant
I think this is a lightning rod pendant that was made in limited numbers in 1998 or l999. Does not appear to be the same color and the 1920's red pendants. Condition is perfect. New cap has been glued on. 2 lbs Priority Mail and that does not include insurance. I accept all forms of payment and I do happy jigs when you avoid the PIG. RARE VINTAGE COPPER SQUIRREL'S TAIL WEATHER VANE PART
Bidding is for this rare vintage copper squirrel's tail which was part of a weather vane. I've been sitting on this item for 20 years looking for the rest of the squirrel but with no luck. Will it's your turn to hold or attach to yours if you have the front part. Pictures show a few dings but overall this item is in good shape with measurements of 21 1/2" long by 2 1/4" thick. COPPER VERDI GRIS LIGHTNING ROD 66" HIGH W/LAVENDAR BALL
This authentic lightning rod taken down from and Iowa barn is in great shape. It measures 66" tall and the beautiful lavendar ball is 4 1/2" across. Ball has what looks like an air bubble.
