Knives measure 9.25" long. These knives were brought from Africa to America in the 1940's when a friends father was stationed in Africa. I do not know what region of Africa he discovered and purchased this pair of knives. I have been told these knives were worn and used on a daily basis. There is wear to the wooden handles. The blades have rust. No attempt has been made to clean them. The sheaths are in good vintage condition. One loop may need a stitch or two if the sheath is to be worn. Up for bid is a ARE LARGE VINTAGE AFRICAN KNIFE WITH SHEATH AFRICA SWORD KNIVES ANTIQUE MACHETE. This item has some chips on the wood handle that has been touched up so it doesn't stand out. The sheath(I'm almost sure it's Teak solid wood. Not ply wood) has some damage and the top string is missing that holds the two pieces together at the top but the bottom is holding the two pieces together. the blade has rust as you can see in the pictures, this is not in prefect condition, but a rare knife to had to someone's collection. The blade seems to have a coppery-green patina but I don't know what metal it is. The dagger missing it's handle is very sharp. Two Vintage African Spearheads / Fighting Knives ?
Two vintage African spearheads. I do not know if the spearhead handles were fitted after to make them more of a fighting knife or not. I believe these are from 1940's or possibly earlier. My son bought these from a friend years ago and all I know is that he was told they came from this chaps great aunt who lived in Africa( dont know where) and she collected tribal objects. Sorry to be so vague but that all I know about them. The flat bladed one measures just over 10" in length and the spearhead measures 7" to the handle. the other one measures eleven and a half inches in length and the spearhead measures six and a quarter inches to the handle. this one has a raided ridge along the middle.
