Beautiful Antique Hand Painted Porcelain Cream & Sugar
Offered here for your consideration is this very beautifully hand painted antique creamer and lidded sugar bowl. They have the back stamp of Jaeger and Company from Germany. The mark on the bottom was used between 1898-1923. With the mark more prominent on the sugar bowl. Both pieces are in MINT condition with no chips, nicks, flea bites, cracks, crazing or paint loss. The colors are of peach roses done on a variegated background of mint green and darker shades of green, pale blue blending into a slate blue into a navy blue. There is also a darker orange blended into a burnt orange on the handles and lid. The sugar bowl measures 6 inches across from handle to handle and the opening is approximately 3 inches and stands approximately 4 inches tall. 22 kt. Gold Overlay Sugar and Creamer
Up for auction is a very decorated sugar bowl with lid 4 1/2" H and creamer 3" H. There is a raised bubbled 22 Kt. gold overlay on the outside of the the pieces over the ceramic. I am guessing at the age of Post 1940. They have been in my home for about 20 years and were purchased at a garage sale. They are shinny bright. With a small amount of wear, and are made in the USA. LIMOGES LANTERNIER COVERED SUGAR BOWL AS IS CIRCA 1890
Very pretty antique sugar bowl by Limoges. It was made by A. Lanternier. Which dates it to circa 1890 based on the stamp. I found it on page 225 in my Limoges Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Third Edition. This needs restoration. I do not know if anyone would be interested. But it is such a beautiful piece. Also, people use antique porcelain for craft projects. Either way, it would be a great piece to work with. Measures 3-1/2 inches high x 5 inches across the opening. Any questions. Antique Royal Worcester Cream & Sugar Bowls 1878 & 1890 VERY RARE!
I use all recycled material when I can for packaging. That means used boxes, bags, bubble envelopes) I am helping clean out an empty house of a dear neighbor that just passed away. Antiques. Jewelry, china, figures ect. So be sure to click"view other items" because I will continually be adding things on, it will takes weeks, so also click"save this seller" so you can check back every few days. This money will help the son travel back& forth since he lives out of state. This auction is for Antique Royal Worcester Cream& Sugar Bowls. Sugar Bowl is from 1890- In 1891 they started adding the words Royal Worcester. And this does not have that, so that dates it before 1891. It is marked with an"a" In 1890 the capital letter changed to a small letter and started again but the sequence was only to last for one ... moreyear. C reamer is from 1878- It is marked with an"N" which stands for 1878(I researched all the markings) It is quite possible that the"N" is a sideways"Z" but I don't think they would stamp it crooked but if it were to be a"Z"then it is from 1888. Now the details. I like to check things over with a magnifying glass and upon doing this I noticed there had been some work done on the handle of the creamer. There were some cracks that were fixed and even repainted. They did a great job because I didn't even notice it at first. And then there is a tiny chip on one of the feet of the creamer, you can't see it from either side when displayed. So someone really restored it well, the only thing you may notice after looking is that they got some of the gold paint on the surface behind the handle. I took pictures of all the imperfections up close- the last 4 pictures show the work done on it. The sugar bowl is in perfect condition. They are so beautiful and detailed; I can only imagine the exquisit table these must have sat at with all the ladies in the giant big dresses! Happy to combine shipping. You are bidding on an Adams& Sons Jeddo sugar bowl bottom only as I do not have the lid. I believe this is the flow mulberry color but please check the pictures and decide for yourself as it is a very dark flow color. The bottom is marked W Adams& Sons Jeddo Ironstone. According to the Schiffer book Encyclopedia of Marks 1780-1980 by Arnold and Dorothy Kowalsky. The mark on the bottom of this item is one of the marks which was used from 1829-1863 by this company. The item measures 4 7/8" in height. The base is octagonal and has a diameter of 5 3/8" This item was purchased at an estate sale in Sun City. Az and is in very good condition for its age. It has some staining inside and a few areas of loss of glaze on the inside of the item and there are a couple of hairline cracks on the bottom of the item. Could be a little earlier, as unusually for Charles Meigh, there is no makers mark only an impressed number 30. See"Relief Moulded Jugs 1820-1900" by R Henrywood, plate 122 for the Four Seasons jug equivalent to this same pattern and time period. By adding pure salt to the glaze during the firing technique, the item was made totally durable and waterproof with no risk of leaks, distinguishable by its slightly orange peel feel! The SUGAR measures 6” X 6 ¼” The CREAMER measures 4 ¾” X 5 ½” What makes this item stand out is the quality of molding and sprigging. ... moreSo absolutely crisp with four extremely detailed depictions. The egg and dart molding around the neck is a direct copy from ancient Greek. Roman architecture. This is also shown in the Acanthus leaf decoration at the base of the handle. We adore the four cartouches each surrounded by scrolling leaves. Inside each cartouche is a sprigged figure(this is when the decoration is attached separately by hand) They appear as children all dressed in classical attire each depicting one of the four seasons. We see a crouched girl with corn seed in her hand, the next boy is harvesting the wheat crop, the next boy is seated drinking wine and the final girl is wrapping herself up to protect herself from the Winter wind. Amongst the scrolling leaf design, between each pair of cartouches we see a bird flying above and a snake or serpent climbing towards it. The decoration on the handle and spout is just as decorative with a rams head design. We have not found any chips. Cracks repairs to this set at all. Scarce c1800's Gaudy Welsh China Creamer& Sugar Set Hand Painted This Beautiful hand painted china creamer and sugar set was produced sometime from c1820 to 1860 when"Gaudy Welsh" as it was called. Was most produced. Each is impressed marked(unreadable) and numbered 1629. They feature the traditional cobalt blue underglaze, gold gilt trim and a leaf like decor. I do not know the pattern name. The sugar bowl stands 3 3/4" tall by 6 1/2" across handle to handle. The creamer is 3 1/2" tall by 5" across. For auction today. A cream and sugar service with plate marked Vienna, Austria with the double shield of PH Leonard and the impressed TK mark attributed to Count Thun. The TK mark typically indicates porcelain made in Vienna from 1830-1898 and the double shield represents PH Leonard who imported this porcelain from Count Thun between 1890 and 1908. Aside from a very small chip on the underside of the plate, the set is in excellent condition, with intact gold edging and beautiful pink and blue flowers delicately intertwined with leaves and stems. Both pieces have a beautiful purple lustre splashed finish around a handpainted picture of a horse drawn carriage with an elegant lady and gentlemen possibly from the Victorian era. This Carl Tielsch and Company. 2-handled, sugar bowl is approximately 5 ¾" tall, to the top of the lid finial) 7 5/16" wide(from handle arc to handle arc) and 4 7/8" deep(widest portion of bowl bulge) It weighs approximately 14.5 ounces and is in very good condition. The lid has 2, pinhead-sized flakes and one, 3/16" chip on the rim bottom. The chip is viewable from the exterior: it appears as a slight rise in the line of the rim's edge. The bowl has 1, pinhead-sized flake on the base rim upon which the piece rest. The gold loss for the two pieces is"minimal" to"medium" the gold is almost solid on the sugar bowl's opening and on the decorative dots surrounding the piece. The gold on the lid, lid finial, bowl handles, and the area surrounding the base all appear to have been originally highlighting ... moreversus a continuous, solid layer. As to how much of that original gold is missing, I cannot tell. Some has obviously worn away, but I do not know how much was there in the very beginning. Please see the photos for clarification and to truly appreciate the nice condition of this piece. Per Marks 4 Ceramics: this particular C. Here is a parian and cobalt creamer that is approx. 3 1/2" from base to top of handle and approx. 3" from base to rim of bowl. Except for the small flake on the base. It is in excellent condtion. It dates in the 4th quarter of the 19th century. The embossed scene depicts two nude goddess' or nymphs among grass and reeds. When light is place behind the creamer, it's opaqueness is similar to a lithopane and enhances the scene that is duplicated on both sides of the bowl. Antique Z.S. & Co Bavaria Basket, Bavaria Celery Tray and Pitcher Roses Floral
Three(3) pieces. These do not match. But I've put them in a group because they were similar and it saves so much on shipping. If you're interested in just one of the pieces. Let me know. Detail on each item below. I've included pictures from all angles so you can see the condition for yourself. Measurements approximate. Celery Tray: 12 1/2" long x 4 1/2" wide(middle) x 1 1/4" deep. No chips. Cracks, crazing or repairs. Embossed edge. Makers mark is a sitting lion"made in Bavaria" Some wear on gold as you can see in picture#2. Handled Basket: 5" long x 4" wide x 2" deep(without handle) Handle has lost most of the gold accent. Embossed. Couple of pinpoint dark spots that I assume are glaze pops. There is a short hairline on the basket where the handle joins on one side. Marks Z.S. Co Bavaria ... morein green. Pitcher: 4 1/4" tall x 3 1/2" at widest point. No chips. Cracks or repairs. Vintage White w/Pink Roses Footed Small Porcelain Creamer & Sugar Bowl w/Cover
This lovely porcelain creamer and sugar bowl with cover are beautifully decorated with pink roses and rosebuds and gold trim. All three pieces are in excellent condition with no damages. The creamer is 4" wide from the back of the handle to the tip of the spout and 2 3/4" tall to the top of the spout. The sugar bowl is 5" wide from the back of one handle to the back of the other and is 3" tall to the top of the cover. The pictures you see are those of the actual vintage creamer and sugar bowl being auctioned together.
