Up for auction is an Antique R. Delinieres(and P. Guery) and Company(D& Co. of the La Taupiniere Porcelain Factory on Rue Albert Thomas. Limoges France(1860 to 1900) Hand Painted Open Sugar Bowl and Hand Painted Creamer(Cream Pitcher) Set with a Floral Pattern Consisting of Alternating Pink Roses& Purple Violets Sharing the same Stem and Leaf Pattern over a Gloss White Glaze Application Attributed to being Decorated in Limoges, France in"Excellent Plus" to"Near-Mint Condition" Used, Circa 1894 to 1900. I first want to explain that in the United States from the 1870s up until World War Two the biggest hobby in this country was painting on porcelain. You had amateur painters. Professional painters, professional porcelain decorating and painting studios and some American poreclain potteries had their own decorating ... moredepartments. One crucial piece of knowledege you kneed to know is that the vast majority of this porcelain artwork done by American porcelain artists was painted on blank white porcelain imported in from other countries, You had French Limoges porcelain, Bavarian porcelain(and it was its own state from 1806 to 1918) German porcelain, Austrian-Bohemian porcelain and some came from Nippon(which is Japan) and other Far East Asian countries. The reason for this was the United States was still in its infancy when it came to porcelain production and the imported porcelain blanks were much less expensive then our own American porcelain blanks in most cases. Because of this a common mistake is to attribute antique American painted porcelain as to being painted in the country on the backstamp. There was a law institued in 1891 by the United States requiring all goods imported into the U.S.A. to have the country of origin on it somewhere. Therefore we have an abundance of antique hand painted porcelain by Americans on blanks marked from another country. This beautiful set of Limoges sugar and creamer are spectacular. They are in excellent condition without any chips cracks or flea bites. The creamer is approximately five inches in height as well as the sugar without the lid. With the lid it is just under seven inches. The gold detail is still very strong and clear. Unusual Heavily Gilded Limoges Creamer and Sugar Bowl Set, c1900
Offered here is a rather unusual Limoges creamer and sugar dating to about 1900. The rims and handles are darkly gilded with the sprig accents are more brightly gilded and raised off the surface. The sugar measures about 6" across the handle and is a little shy of 4 1/2" tall to the top of the finial. The creamer is 5 1/4" across handle and spout and 3 3/4" tall to the top of the handle. Both pieces are in clean perfect condition with very little to report in the way of wear to the gilding. RARE--Lovely Antique Ovington's Limoges Creamer by T&V--approx. 90 yrs old. NR!
Gorgeous Yellow Limoges Creamer-early 1920s-made expressly by T&V for Ovington's New York! Ovington's was a famous(some say notorious) store in New York that specialized in household decorative items and tableware. Originally founded as Ovington Brothers in 1849. It changed it's name to Ovington's in 1920. In its heyday, Ovington's was as famous and prestigeous as its jewelry making counterpart, Tiffany's. Unfortunately it doe not survive the economic woes of the Great Depression. Tressemann& Vogt was one of many factories doing business in Limoges. France the late 19th/early 20th century. They produced many pieces of white ware that were decorated elsewhere and decorated porcelain as well. Their marks consisted of both a green rectangular underglaze T&V white ware mark and a red bell overglaze decorating ... moremark. As shown in the second picture. In 1919 Martial Reynaud bought the company and continued using the T&V mark for a while as well as his own Reynaud mark. Ovington's often commissioned tableware patterns from the finest manufacturers to be made expressly for. And limited to. Ovington's. Thus Ovington's would have patterns that no one else had. This little creamer is one of those items, as the marks on the bottom indicate. I have not been able to discover the name of the pattern. This incredible little creamer stands approximately 5" tall and approximately 4 1/4" from the top of the handle to the tip of the spout. It is in pristine. Near perfect condition. The only wear and tear is some slight wear on the unglazed edges on the bottom where it would have sat on a table or shelf. We should all look so good when we hit 90 years of age. Collectors will recognize that this is a rare find! The set features beautiful colorful floral displays with gold banding and heavy sponged gold highlights on the handles. The set is in good condition for its age with no scratches, crazing, but does have a small chip on the top side of the spout to the creamer. One crucial piece of knowledege you need to know is that the vast majority of this porcelain artwork done by American porcelain artists was painted on blank white porcelain imported in from other countries, You had French Limoges porcelain, Bavarian porcelain(and Bavaria was its own kingdom from 1806 to 1918) German porcelain, Austrian-Bohemian porcelain and some came from Nippon(which is Japan) and other Far East Asian countries. The reason for this was the United States was still in its infancy when it came to porcelain production and the imported porcelain blanks were much less expensive to buy than our own American porcelain blanks in most cases. Because of this a common mistake is to attribute antique American painted porcelain as to being painted in the country on the backstamp. She never used it. But from the mark it appears to have been made possibly in 1895. I have had it myself for over 25 years in addition to the time my grandmother had it. It is a beautiful white porcelain with a gold accent design and a floral pattern of pink and blue flowers with some green and what appears to me as yellow and purple. Antique LS & S Limoges France Small Milk Pitcher or Creamer-Petite Rose Pattern
This is an Antique Milk Pitcher or Creamer. Made by LS& S which is Lazarus Strauss and Sons(1869-1924) The backstamp says LS& S Limoges France in Green. There is another stamp on it next to the first one but I cannot read it clearly but it is also in green and looks like there is some lettering next to a star shaped design. This is Porcelain and handpainted with small petite pink roses. It has a gold handle and gold rim. There is not a lid to this pitcher. Pretty pouring spout. It stands 4 3/4" in height and is 2 3/4" wide at the base. The top is about 3" from the tip of the spout to the handle. No chips. Cracks, or stress areas noted. There is one very small area that feels a little rough under the spout but I can not visualize any chips at this spot. Thanks for looking!

This is a very pretty little creamer made by W Guerrin and CO in Limoges. France. It is likely turn of century to early 19th? There are no visible flaws considering age. I have several pieces that came from one new england collection. This piece is just the creamer, I have no sugar bowl. But it would go with any piece of similar colorings. There are hand painted flowers and vines. I almost think it's like a sweet pea? The handle has a green finish with an organic look possibly to match the vines? It is a lovely shade of green and the floral painting is very subtle. Since I have found nothing similar in color scheme I am taking a wild guess here on age pattern etc. I will pack with bubble and ship first class package from my smoke free home. Vintage Hand Painted French Limoges Porcelain Sugar & Creamer Set Yellow Roses
Hand painted Sugar& Creamer Set. For auction is a vintage unmarked Limoges porcelain sugar& creamer set in a pretty pastel light blue on top and yellow on the bottom encircled with a ring of yellow roses on entwined branches around the middle! These unique pieces have detailed"lettuce edged" handles and are gilded around the top opening edges and handles. Each piece is dated 1938 on the bottom& has the initials of the artist. The 2-handled creamer measures 5" in length x 3 1/4" wide and the sugar measures 4 3/4" in length x 3" wide. The pieces are in very good vintage condition. The creamer seems to have been painted with a small hairline seen mainly from the inside(see second to last photo) The glaze was applied over the hairline so that is the way it came from the manufacturer. NEWLY REDUCED PRICE This sale is for a William Guerin limoges sugar and creamer set acquired from an estate. The pieces are"squat" shaped and can stack one on top of the other. The bodies of the creamer and sugar bowl and lid are white with gold trim; the handles on the sugar bowl. Lid and creamer are solid gold color. Very good condition- minor discolorations on gold handles- see last two photos. Both the sugar bowl and creamer bear a distinctive William Guerin backstamp; research indicates that this backstamp was used only between 1891 and 1930. A beautiful antique set at a great price!

This is a beautiful hand painted porcelain creamer and sugar set with an Iris flower design. This set has gold trimmed handles and rims with gold relief around the main flower. Both pieces are artist signed on the front: A. Foix. The under glaze mark is a green coiffe-mark with Limoges in the middle of the mark and Limoges on top with France below. This mark is attributed to circa 1891-1914. The over the glaze mark is also present. The larger sugar measures 4- 6/8" from long side to long side& about the same from the base to the top of the handle. It measures 3-1/4" inside the handles. The creamer is 5-1/8" from spout to the outside of the handle. The height is 3-3/4" from base to top of the handle. It's decorated with pink roses and signed on the bottom with the artist's initials. It's a bit over 3.5" at its tallest. There's a little chip on the edge of the spout with a loss of gold gilt-the porcelain is thinner there but not entirely missing and a touch of gold paint would make it very hard to spot. I purchased this at an estate auction and am uncertain of its age but early 20th century is my best guess. One crucial piece of knowledege you need to know is that the vast majority of this porcelain artwork done by American porcelain artists was painted on blank white porcelain imported in from other countries, You had French Limoges porcelain, Bavarian porcelain(and Bavaria was its own kingdom from 1806 to 1918) German porcelain, Austrian-Bohemian porcelain and some came from Nippon(which is Japan) and other Far East Asian countries. The reason for this was the United States was still in its infancy when it came to porcelain production and the imported porcelain blanks were much less expensive to buy than our own American porcelain blanks in most cases. Because of this a common mistake is to attribute antique American painted porcelain as to being painted in the country on the backstamp. There was a law institued in 1891 by the United States requiring all goods imported into the U.S.A. to have the country of origin on it somewhere. Therefore we have an abundance of antique hand painted porcelain by Americans on blanks marked from another country. It can be hard at times to distinguish American Painted Porcelain
