Up for auction is an Antique R. Delinieres(and P. Guery) and Company(D& Co. of the La Taupiniere Porcelain Factory on Rue Albert Thomas. Limoges France(1860 to 1900) Hand Painted Open Sugar Bowl and Hand Painted Creamer(Cream Pitcher) Set with a Floral Pattern Consisting of Alternating Pink Roses& Purple Violets Sharing the same Stem and Leaf Pattern over a Gloss White Glaze Application Attributed to being Decorated in Limoges, France in"Excellent Plus" to"Near-Mint Condition" Used, Circa 1894 to 1900. I first want to explain that in the United States from the 1870s up until World War Two the biggest hobby in this country was painting on porcelain. You had amateur painters. Professional painters, professional porcelain decorating and painting studios and some American poreclain potteries had their own decorating ... moredepartments. One crucial piece of knowledege you kneed to know is that the vast majority of this porcelain artwork done by American porcelain artists was painted on blank white porcelain imported in from other countries, You had French Limoges porcelain, Bavarian porcelain(and it was its own state from 1806 to 1918) German porcelain, Austrian-Bohemian porcelain and some came from Nippon(which is Japan) and other Far East Asian countries. The reason for this was the United States was still in its infancy when it came to porcelain production and the imported porcelain blanks were much less expensive then our own American porcelain blanks in most cases. Because of this a common mistake is to attribute antique American painted porcelain as to being painted in the country on the backstamp. There was a law institued in 1891 by the United States requiring all goods imported into the U.S.A. to have the country of origin on it somewhere. Therefore we have an abundance of antique hand painted porcelain by Americans on blanks marked from another country. Pair Creamer & Sugar Vienna Austria Pink Roses Gold Gilt Encrusted Leonard NY
This is a lovely sugar and creamer set for tea or coffee service. They were made in Vienna. Austria and imported to the US by P H Leonard of New York, circa 1908. We are not sure if the sugar ever had a lid. The heavy gold on the flat rim shows no loss or scratching of color normally associated with handling of a lid. These pieces have a tall design, with pretty deep formed waves that extend up from the feet approx. 1" high. The remainder of the height has a four-clover shape. The handles all have fancy designs with raised button accents at the tops and smaller extensions on the inside. The decoration is pale pink beach roses on pastel blue ground, front and back, with pretty painted gold swirls for accets. Very heavy hand-painted gold accent the rims, feet and handles. Antique MZ Austria Creamer & Sugar Bowl Pink Roses Habsburgh China
Here is a creamer and sugar bowl from a local estate. Made of porcelain or bone china. These pieces are by Moritz Zdekauker who made pieces from 1884 to 1909. Each is stamped in green on the bottom with"MZ" a double headed eagle, then"Austria" Also on the larger sugar bowl, in gold paint, is"Habsburgh China" There is also an embossed number that I can't read. Each piece is a long oval that is flattened into an irregular octagon. The sugar bowl is 4 1/2" tall from the bottom to the top of the loop handle on the lid. It has two side handles; the bottom is almost 5" by 3 3/4" The creamer is 2 1/2" tall; bottom is 3 3/4" by 3" I do not know the name of the pattern that decorates these pieces. The border is tiny open purple hearts with a red liner top and bottom. There are arcs of ... moregold bows and stars; the front and back has a gold arbor with pink roses in the center. The handles and top rims have a medium green liner. Both pieces are pristine; no crazing. Cracks, chips, or repairs. Inside of each a little dusty; I have done no cleaning. There is very little wear to the decoration and design; the rose decal is very clear. And the luster is very solid. This is a beautiful set of 4 Pcs of M&Z Austria. Habsburg China in wonderful, vintage, pre-owned condition. This is the green set with hand painted, pink and white roses with gold trim. The 4 pieces include a collectable plate, sugar bowl with lid, and creamer. I have inspected this set and there are no chips. Cracks or crazing. But since this is old, and it is not from my family, I do not know its history or how well it has been kept. I am also not an expert on this type of chinaware and wouldn't know what it should look or feel like in excellent condition. So when I touch it it feels like it had set out for a long time. I washed it gently to get the dust off of it. But to me, personally, it feels like it need a good soak in something that won't ruin the paint, and I did not want to take that chance. RS Germany Creamer and Sugar by Reinhold Schlegelmilch at Tillowitz w/Roses
This is a finely decorated creamer and sugar set from the porcelain works of Reinhold Schlegelmilch. They were made in the town of Tillowitz in the Silesia District of Germany. Now the Opole Region of Poland. The"R S Germany" mark seen here is considered part of the larger"R S Prussia" group of marks. This form was probably introduced between 1910 and 1914 and was used until about 1945. From the style of these pieces, it is most likely that they were most probably designed and produced during the 1920's. The decoration is stunning as are so many Schlegelmilch pieces of this period. Each piece measures about 4 by 3(not including the handles) and stands about 2 inches high. The beautiful detailed roses with gilt edges are in excellent condition with no damage or handling wear. The company'Zeh. Scherzer& Co. was founded in 1880 and directly started to produce a wide range of pieces including coffee and tea sets, normal household items and tableware as well as decoration porcelain. This beautiful set features a design of pink roses. Gold trellis, and trailing foliage. Fully marked on the bottom. The creamer measures 2 7/8" tall. The covered Sugar measures 4" with lid tall. There is wear to the gilt trim on the lid of the sugar. No chips, cracks or repairs. Lovely set. Sells as is without reserve.

American Painted Porcelain" Porcelain Artware, American Art Pottery, Open Cream Pitcher and Sugar Bowl, Hand Painted with Pink Roses, Purple Violets and Green to Brown Leaves and Stems in the United States by an Unknown-Unidentified American Artist-Decorator over a Gloss White Glaze Application on Porcelain Blanks, Marked, D. Co. R. Delinieres and Company of the La Taupiniere Porcelain Factory on Rue Albert Thomas, Limoges France) 1860 to 1900 with both Items in"Excellent Plus" Used Condition. Circa Late 1800s to Early 1900s. I first want to explain that in the United States from the Mid 1870s until World War Two the biggest hobby in this country was painting on porcelain. Besides the amateur painters you also had professional painters. Professional porcelain decorating studios and some American ... moreporeclain potteries had their own decorating departments. One crucial piece of knowledege you need to know is that the vast majority of this porcelain artwork done by American porcelain artists was painted on blank white porcelain imported in from other countries, You had French Limoges porcelain, Bavarian porcelain(and Bavaria was its own kingdom from 1806 to 1918) German porcelain, Austrian-Bohemian porcelain and some came from Nippon(which is Japan) and other Far East Asian countries. The reason for this was the United States was still in its infancy when it came to porcelain production and the imported porcelain blanks were much less expensive to buy than our own American porcelain blanks in most cases. Because of this a common mistake is to attribute antique American painted porcelain as to being painted in the country on the backstamp. There was a law institued in 1891 by the United States requiring all goods imported into the U.S.A. to have the country of origin on it somewhere. Pre-1895 RARE Leuchtenburg Thuringia Sugar Bowl & Creamer Roses
A gorgeous Pre-1895 sugar bowl and creamer- German. According to Porcelain Marks of the World. By Emanuel Poche, 1974, entry 1115, the undermark(see photos) which reads, Leuchtenburg" over the symbol of a castle, followed by"Thuringia" see photos) changed to"Leuchtenburg" over the same castle symbol, followed by"Germany, and was attributed to C.A. Lehmann& Sohn but only after 1895. These pre- 1895 marked pieces are very hard to find. A sweet set with pink and yellow roses along with impressionistic pink ornamentation. These also have very delicate embossed white on white details around the rims and bottom. And the top of the sugar bowl. Beautiful handles and lid handle. The creamer stands approximately 3 1/4" to the rim. Is approximately 2 1/2" across the top opening and has a base diameter of approximately ... more2 1/4" It is almost in mint condition- it has no cracks and only one tiny chip on the underside of the top lip- you can't see it looking down on the piece, you have to turn the creamer over to actually find it. The sugar bowl measures approximately 2 1/2" to the rim and 3 3/4" to the top of the lid handle. There is an approximately 2" diameter opening at the top and a 3" diameter base. See the photos for the hairline cracks that you can see inside the bottom of the bowl and on the underside- there are no cracks otherwise on the body. This antique Tesserman& Vogt porcelain creamer and sugar bowl are absolutely beautiful. The creamer is 3 1/2" tall at the spout. It is in great condition with no damages other than one small chip on the side of the spout that someone has covered in gold. The sugar bowl is 2 7/8" tall and 3" wide across the top. Vintage Hand Painted French Limoges Porcelain Sugar & Creamer Set Yellow Roses
Hand painted Sugar& Creamer Set. For auction is a vintage unmarked Limoges porcelain sugar& creamer set in a pretty pastel light blue on top and yellow on the bottom encircled with a ring of yellow roses on entwined branches around the middle! These unique pieces have detailed"lettuce edged" handles and are gilded around the top opening edges and handles. Each piece is dated 1938 on the bottom& has the initials of the artist. The 2-handled creamer measures 5" in length x 3 1/4" wide and the sugar measures 4 3/4" in length x 3" wide. The pieces are in very good vintage condition. The creamer seems to have been painted with a small hairline seen mainly from the inside(see second to last photo) The glaze was applied over the hairline so that is the way it came from the manufacturer. Also the creamer ... morehas a few small dark spots in the glaze on one side only(see last photo) I try to describe everything- overall this is a pretty set that I purchased from an antique dealer and displayed only! I first want to explain that in the United States from the Mid 1870s until World War Two the biggest hobby in this country was painting on porcelain. Besides the amateur painters you also had professional painters. Professional porcelain decorating studios and ... moresome American poreclain potteries had their own decorating departments. One crucial piece of knowledege you need to know is that the vast majority of this porcelain artwork done by American porcelain artists was painted on blank white porcelain imported in from other countries, You had French Limoges porcelain, Bavarian porcelain(and Bavaria was its own kingdom from 1806 to 1918) German porcelain, Austrian-Bohemian porcelain and some came from Nippon(which is Japan) and other Far East Asian countries. The reason for this was the United States was still in its infancy when it came to porcelain production and the imported porcelain blanks were much less expensive to buy than our own American porcelain blanks in most cases. Because of this a common mistake is to attribute antique American painted porcelain as to being painted in the country on the backstamp. There was a law institued in 1891 by the United States requiring all goods imported into the U.S.A. to have the country of origin on it somewhere. Therefore we have an abundance of antique hand painted porcelain by Americans on blanks marked from another country. It can be hard at times to distinguish American Painted Porcelain
