Antique late 1800's Meriden-Brittania Co. Aesthetically decorated heavily silverplated cream pitcher and sugar bowl. Wonderful decoration includes figural women heads on the tops of the handles and Satyr like faces on all feet. Additionally. The set is engraved in a holly leaf motif along with a figural Holly berry and leaf finial on the creamer and futher leaves and berries around the figural heads. The sugar bowl measures 4 1/2" height(to the rim) x 7" wide(tip of handle to tip of handle) and the creamer is 7 1/2" height(to top of finial) x 6 1/2" wide(tip of handle to tip of spout) The set is in very good condition with no dings or dents, no silverplate loss and only modest wear. The cake plate does have some tarnish that I did not try to clean fearing it mat hurt it's collect-ability. I'm down scaling to an apartment and must let some of my treasures go. I first want to explain that in the United States from the 1870s up until World War Two the biggest hobby in this country was painting on porcelain. You had amateur painters. Professional painters, professional porcelain decorating and painting studios and some American poreclain potteries had their own decorating ... moredepartments. One crucial piece of knowledege you kneed to know is that the vast majority of this porcelain artwork done by American porcelain artists was painted on blank white porcelain imported in from other countries, You had French Limoges porcelain, Bavarian porcelain(and it was its own state from 1806 to 1918) German porcelain, Austrian-Bohemian porcelain and some came from Nippon(which is Japan) and other Far East Asian countries. This craze was formed during the original production of this piece and does not hinder, even to this day, the use of this piece. Livesley and Powell was founded in 1845 and then changed its name in 1865 as a new/different partner was taken on. This is a very fancy Victorian Sugar Shaker. The company Locke Worcester was only in business for a short time during the late 1800's. We are putting a little history about it at the end of the listing. The shaker has a beautiful lid with a heavy cast of brass with Silver plating. There is a darling little finial at the top of the silver lid. It is very finely made. The shape is just wonderful. The china is in the"pineapple pattern" This piece is only marked on the bottom with the potters mark. It does not have the company marking. This is very typical of Victorian items before 1898. After the McKinley Tarrif Act most all the china had to be marked to be imported. Before 1898. That was not the always case. The Sugar Shaker is in mint condition with no chips or cracks. Pretty Antique Blue Glass Child's Creamer and Sugar~Old Japan
This delightful old Japan blue glass creamer and sugar for a child is being offered for the first time on the eBay market today! Both are in very good shape with no chips or cracks. Straw mark inside the bottom of the creamer does not catch the fingernail and does not go thru to the outside. Straw marks are common to glassmaking and only noted for utmost care in description. A note about this pretty type of glass: it appears to be a slag type of old glass. I.e. you can't see through it, and there are wavy white lines running through the blue. Very interesting, very eye catching! Lid is original to the piece. We know it is Japan because it is stamped into the glass. Creamer is 1 and 1/2 inches high; sugar with lid is 1 and 7/8 inches high. Antique KPM Silesia Creamer 906/00 & Sugar 906/007 Floral Pansies
This is an antique KPM/Selisia creamer and sugar. They are a cream color with gold trim and yellow pansies on them. One has the hallmark and the other does not. They both have the numbering on the bottom. The creamer is numbered 906/00 and the sugar is 906/007. The creamer measures 2 7/8" tall x 3" at the base and the sugar is 3 1/2" tall to the top of the lid and 3 3/4" at the base. The sugar also has an indented#11 on the bottom. The inside lid of the sugar has a few flea bites and the handle has a lot of the gold paint loss. They are otherwise in good condition. They are listed in my store. For sale is a lovely Nippon marked with a crown. Set of creamer and sugar bowl. They are decorated with flowers and a cottage scene. A little different in each scene. The creamer measures 5 3/4 long x 3 1/8 wide x 2 3/4 tall. On both pieces there is some gold loss on the handles and knob so I believe this set was used often. They are hand painted. And you can feel the pictures, as well as the raised gold paint dots that run around the tops. The sugar bowl measures 7 handle to handle x 4 wide x 3 1/2 with knob. No cracks. Because I've been unable to identify the mark on the bottom(see photo) Maybe someone who sees this might know this mark. If so, I'd really appreciate learning of it in case I find any other pottery with the same one on it. I don't know if at one time there might have been a top to the sugar bowl. But right now this is all I have. This is a pretty little set in good condition for its age. Which I'm guessing is quite hold. All it says on the bottom under the marking is Japan. The finish is matte rather than shiny. The sugar bowl measures 3 1/2" by 2 1/2" and the creamer is approximately 2 1/2 with spout and 2 1/2" in height. R S Prussia Cream Pitcher & Sugar Bowl Set Fruit & Roses Antique Porcelain
Offered is an R. S. Prussia cream pitcher and covered sugar bowl made circa 1910. The set has a flared shape with a pedestal base. Ruffled around the rim with a white medallion on the front. Arched handles and a fancy finial. Decorated with pink roses and clusters of fruit. Pears and grapes. The green background has white shadow flowers. The creamer is 5 1/4" wide(spout tip to handle edge) and 3 1/2" high. The sugar bowl is 6" wide and 4 1/2" high to top of finial. The lid to the sugar bowl may be a replacement as it does not fit snuggly but wobbles when tapped. The inner ring is smaller than the bowl opening and the shape is slightly warped. Both pieces have the R. S. Prussia wreath and star mark. The cream and sugar set is in excellent antique condition without chips or cracks. As stated. Antique KPM Set of 6 cups and saucers and cream and sugar Germany 19th
This is for a group of 6 cups and saucers and a matching cream and saucer. These were all made by KPM in the first half of the 19 th century. All pieces are hand painted and have a checkered pattern on them. The saucers are 5 ¾ inches in diameter and the cups are 2 ¾ inches high. The sugar bowl including the lid and the creamer are each 6 inches high. All pieces have a blue KPM mark on the bottom. There is liberal gilding on all of the pieces. Antique Leuchtenburg Sugar Bowl w/Lid & Creamer Germany 1895 to 1937
Estate Sale Find Up for auction is a sugar bowl and creamer set from Leuchtenburg Germany. There is very little information available on Leuchtenburg. But I did find that they were a manufacturer of porcelain from 1895 to 1937. The set features a sugar bowl with lid and a creamer/milk jug in a pearly white with a floral design of pink and white roses with yellow and green leaves. The feet and the top of the lid are a pale grey-green color. The edges of both pieces are scalloped and there is some white embossing on the lid and on the body of both. There is one minor flaw– on one handle of the sugar bowl. The little top decoration is broken off(you can see this in photo 2) but it feels smooth and is barely noticeable. This aside, the set is in excellent condition for its age and came from a collection of German/Austrian porcelain that had been ... moreextremely well looked after. antique sugar bowl transferware. This is mulberry purple. A charming piece with a man and a woman in a pleasure boat. There is a garden folly in the background. Floral pattern. Unknown mark on the bottom. Just about everything that could be wrong is wrong with this piece but it is still so charming. There are chips cracks crazing. Discoloration all over the piece. Discolored inside and outside. Actually the only good thing to report is that the lid top seems to be in good shape. About 7 1/2 inches wide handle to handle. About 5 1/2 inches tall. I do not know who made this piece.

They have been in her curio cabinet in her home, my grandmothers, my mothers, and mine. The only marking is a purple D on the lip of the creamer. They were used by great grandmother and grandmother. But as you can see from the pictures.they are in excellent shape. The bottoms are not even with scuff marks at all! The creamer measures 4.5" from the lip to the handle and the base is 2" X 2" and is approx 3.75" tall.
