I first want to explain that in the United States from the 1870s up until World War Two the biggest hobby in this country was painting on porcelain. You had amateur painters. Professional painters, professional porcelain decorating and painting studios and some American poreclain potteries had their own decorating departments. One crucial piece of knowledege you kneed to know is that the vast majority of this porcelain artwork done by American porcelain artists was painted on blank white porcelain imported in from other countries, You had French Limoges porcelain, Bavarian porcelain(and it was its own state from 1806 to 1918) German porcelain, Austrian-Bohemian porcelain and some came from Nippon(which is Japan) and other Far East Asian countries. The reason for this was the United States was still in its infancy when it came to porcelain production and the imported porcelain blanks were much less expensive then our own American porcelain blanks in most cases. Because of this a common mistake is to attribute antique American painted porcelain as to being painted in the country on the backstamp. There was a law institued in 1891 by the United States requiring all goods imported into the U.S.A. to have the country of origin on it somewhere. Therefore we have an abundance of antique hand painted porcelain by Americans on blanks marked from another country. This is a small 2 1/2 inch high hand painted porcelain china creamer made by M Z of Austria. On the bottom it has the MZ mark but also what I think is the artist: N S C" and the date: 10-6-1914( see photos)

Antique 19th Century Miniature Bisque Porcelain Creamer Cream Pitcher - c.1842
This is a diminutive cream pitcher or creamer done in white bisque porcelain with a collar depicting wheat stalks. Berries and leaves, all done in relief. The bottom is decorated with a ribbed pattern and the handle has a gentle twist. The bottom has a British Registration porcelain pad indicating the pattern was registered between 1842-1867. Approximate measurements are 2.75" tall by 2.25" wide. It's possible this was part of a Victorian child's tea set. There is one very tiny flea bite on the spout and some manufacturing black specks and roughness on the spout. Despite being up to 150 years old. It is in outstanding condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs and no damage to the elaborate relief design. A beautiful little pitcher. Antique Old Noritake Nippon Porcelain Creamer - The Oriental Pattern - Rare
Hi. For sale a small creamer the back stamp says The Oriental. and it has Noritake M in a green wreath and Nippon. It has flowers and red paint around the trim. I believe this is from late 1800's to 1915 or around that time. Older pieces have Made in Japan or Japan according to the Gotheberg website around 1920 they used the word Japan or made in Japan not Nippon which means Japan. It is 3 inches wide and 3 inches in heigth. There is wear on the paint which is to be expected for and old piece but there are no chips. Cracks or crazing. It is a cute little piece. This petite and delicate hand painted fine porcelain creamer is just stunning—so thin-walled that light penetrates easily. And so delicately painted that it has a flow blue look to it. Has fluted sides, and a fluted shape to the handle. The spout also has lovely lines. Has a decorative medallion on each side at the top, done in high relief. There is a hand painted sailing vessel with a tiny man in the stern on the front, and an equally tiny man in a tiny boat on the other side. The decoration has a decidedly Delft feel, making this piece both charming AND beautiful! Unsure maker or of exact age. But I believe this piece to be from the mid to late 1800s. Description Pretty cream and sugar set bearing the authentic red and green R.S. Prussia trademark backstamp of Germany(1905) Beautiful and petite rosebuds are the decorative main pattern. With golden around the melon rib mold rims and a light blue airbrush color at the bottom. Some age and usage wear is noted, and nothing to be unexpected for their age. Some minor chipping is noted around the bottom for the pieces where they sit on the surfaces. Rare and Stunning- Creamer& Lidded Sugar Bowl- Sanssouci Germany; numbered. Absolutely gorgeous green& floral backdrop to a Victorian dressed couple. On the Creamer. They are pictured outside- he is a formal long tailed outfit with knickers and she in her long dress is seated on a bench. The rest of the vase has beautiful bunches, and some singles, of blue, pink, orange, purple flowers; accented with green leaves. It has gold accents on the handle, the edge of the spout and on different sections of the creamer highlighting the green coloring on various sections of the creamer. The sugar bowl has 2 different scences in which the couple is shown. One is standing in front of a body of water with a bridge and the other one she is seated and he is standing. There is some loss/worn of gold trim color on certain small sections of each piece. ... moreOn the bottom of the each rim there are a few tiny rough spots to the touch. They both have the older crown, crossed lines and a large R and C in dark green on either side with SANSSOUCI stamped underneath. It is numbered by hand, 2321-15, and has the word Germany stamped in Red on the bottom of each piece. The symbols on the bottom of the sugar bowl clear and are a little worn off on the bottom of the creamer. The bowl is about 4 1/2" tall and 3 1/2" wide on the bottom. The creamer is about 5 1/4" at the highest point of the handle and is 2 1/2" wide on the bottom. Beautiful, classy and old this would be a welcome addition to anyone's collection. Victorian Porcelain Antique Cobalt Blue and White Creamer and Sugar
Beautiful. Intricate, antique porcelain sugar and creamer. Has a beautiful painted cobalt blue or glaze color with gold embellishment. You can see little intricate gold roses and flowers. There are flourishes and scrolls that surround the centerpiece picture of two ladies on both the creamer and sugar. There is wear on the gold of the handles and some wear on the trim. Up for auction is a lovely antique copper lustre creamer from a local estate. Made in the Staffordshire district. England, in the 1800s. The use of a copper compound in the glaze resulted in a metallic, copperlike surface. Decorated with two cobalt blue bands with a floral design. This piece really shines! The inside has a finished glaze, so the creamer can be used. I love the fluted handle. Bottom is unmarked. Measures 4" tall. This offering is for a very pretty little pitcher with New York in gold. A cobalt blue band, and some gold trim. Very nice condition, no chips, cracks, or repairs. Light ribbing all the way around the pitcher. Marked on the bottom Germany and a number that might be 333 or 323. Measures approx. 3 ½” tall by 4” across from spout to handle. Antique German Porcelain China Creamer Sugar Set Violets Hand Painted
Two tones of purple violets on a background of a multi-tone natural golden amber colors in very good condition. Excellent condition-No cracks. Chips, fleabites or repairs. All pieces including the sugar dish lid have gold gilt which does show wear overall on all pieces. Both creamer and sugar dish are marked on the bottom in green with Hand Painted which is surrounded by a very detailed scrolling design. There is also a number on the bottoms of CY916 and an impression which is the mold marking of an underlined 1003. A 4 underneath that on the sugar dish and a 5 underneath the mold mark on the creamer. The sugar dish measures 3.75 inches tall with the lid on and is 4 inches diameter at it's widest point not including the handles. The creamer measures 3.125 inches tall and is 3.25 inches in diameter not including the pour spout and handle. ... morefor more great items! For sale is this antique German Porcelain Cream Pitcher. The piece is 3" high and has gold articulation(slightly worn) on the rim above pink and green luster band.
