This is an incomplete. Mixed maker’s mark tea set from England. It is Adams(which I understand may be connected with Wedgewood) Old Colonial ironstone. ... moreThere are 3 slightly different versions of the maker’s mark. So I guess some pieces may be older than others. It would be a good starter set. Or maybe to complete your collection. The sugar bowl is especially nice with lovely detailing on the lid. The main colors are rose. Blue, purple and dark green. The cups have been well used. One cup has a long crack. So, I’m considering it a freebie. There are four saucers. Two(3 counting the cracked one) cups, a sugar with lid, and a creamer. There is heavy crazing in one of the cups also. The third cup has some crazing in the bottom. I’ve tried to show these things in the pictures. My items are pre-owned. I try to describe them accurately and show flaws in the pictures. But. Due to camera limitations, I may miss some minor flaws. Be sure to ask questions before bidding if you would like additional information. Any props in the picture. Such as easels or backdrops are not included. I strive for positive feedback and want all buyers to be happy with their purchases. So please contact me for resolution prior to leaving any negative or neutral feedback-or anything less than 5 stars. I always leave feedback for my buyers. And hope you will do the same for me. Shipping may be free, but I package items well. Payment accepted through PayPal only. Please make payment within 48 hours. Or contact me for other arrangements. International buyers must wait for me to send an invoice prior to making payment. So that I can calculate shipping. International buyers are responsible for any duty charges. Thank you for looking! Antique~BlueTransferware Staffordshire Ironstone~Dome Lid Sugar Canister Bowl
BLUE TRANSFERWARE Large Double Handled. 6 Pan elled Domed Lid Sugar Bowl Canister Measurements: Base to tip of lid is 8" Handle to handle at widest point is 7" Diagonally across the opening is 4" Diagonally at base is 4 1/2" Circumference at bottom edge of bowl portion is 15 1/2" This item weighs 1 lb. 8 oz. I do not recall how I acquired this item. Based on observation and reasonable knowledge. I am'estimating' its vintage era to be somewhere between 1850 and the early part of the 20th century. Its manufacture could be ironstone, cerami c or some other composition. It may or may not be considered Staffordshire. It has been washed. Any discoloration is under the glaze or imbedded in it. There are two obvious long ago repairs. The knob portion of the lid has been re-glued. It was poorly aligned during this ... moreprocess. One handle has been re-attached. The alignment is good. However, there is a small piece missing as a result of the breakage. There are several other random but insignificant minor chips considering the age and overall respectable condition of this very old piece of hist ory. I feel the soft blue coloring and what appears to be a Grecian landscape gives this item a very'homey' warmth. Certainly sugar was a precio us commo dity during the time of its manufacture. No doubt it was considered a worthy vessel for storage. I cannot help pondering what memories its by gone days hold. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ These photos are a significant part of the item's description. T hank you for viewing them carefully. Please include the calculated rate for USPS P arcel Select Shipping to your area. This is a great piece of antique English Mulberry transferware ironstone. It is in the"Tavoy" pattern. Which was registered by T Walker c. 1850. T Walker potted from 1845-1851. C. 1858 Large White Ironstone Sugar Bowl by Clementson - New York Shape
This is a great old. Circa 1858 English white ironstone sugar bowl by Clementson in the New York Shape. It is in very good condition for its advanced age having only minor staining and a small chip off the top lid handle. And the usual manufacturer flaws common in this old, old piece. The ironstone has a wonderful embossed pattern. Beautiful! This oldster dates to 1858 as can be told by the impressed English registry mark on the bottom. Which was hard to get a picture of. I cannot find a mark as to who the maker was but it is the New York Shape by Clementson. The lid. However, is not original to this sugar bowl and I am told it is of a later date. It might even be a teapot lid due to the hole in the lid for steam. That said, the lid does fit nicely and would suffice until you find the correct lid or leave this one on it. Just a beautiful ... moreantique piece of white ironstone that was the staple of the kitchens long ago. Please be sure to check all my pictures carefully as they are part of the description as well. 1850-71 Morning Glory Tea Leaf Ironstone Sugar Bowl COPPER Luster Provenance
OLD. But in wonderful condition… Tea Leaf. Morning Glory motif copper lustre ironstone Covered Sugar Bowl. This was part of a set of other Morning glory pieces that were impressed with the English potter. Elsmore Forster logo which date the pieces to c.1850-70. Provenance tag inside the teapot(sold earlier) states this sugar bowl was originally part of that collection. Though it is unmarked on the bottom one would think that it, because of the Morning Glory design, is Elsmore Forster as well. The piece is in excellent condition showing characteristic crazed, crackled surface. There is one very small chip/nick on underneath bottom; other than that there are no chips or cracks. The height is approx. 8/2" tall and 7 1/2" wide. This beautiful sugar bowl was handed down through generations of the Babson Family of Gloucester Massachusetts. ... moreThe tag states, belonged to Mrs. Moses Babson's great grandmother. PROVENANCE. This piece of ironstone was among a collection of fine items(many dating back to the 1800s and as far back as the late 1700s) passed down from the estate of Roger Ward Babson(1875-1967) to his family. Roger was a tenth generation Gloucester Massachusetts Babson who's earliest American relative. Isabel Babson(a midwife) arrived in Salem Mass in 1637. There is much information about pioneer economist Roger Babson(1875-1967) on the web noting his accomplishments including: founding of Babson College in 1919, and founding of Weber College in 1927(now Weber International University) Earlier in his career as an economist, Babson founded the Business Statistical Organization in 1904, selling business and investment information to companies. Roger Babson earned the distinction of being the first financial forecaster to predict the stock market crash of October, 1929. From 1910 to 1923, he commented on business and other matters as a regular columnist for the Saturday Evening Post. He also contributed weekly columns for the New York Times and for the newspapers owned by the Scripps Syndicate. Babs
