Limoges France(1860 to 1900) Hand Painted Open Sugar Bowl and Hand Painted Creamer(Cream Pitcher) Set with a Floral Pattern Consisting of Alternating Pink Roses& Purple Violets Sharing the same Stem and Leaf Pattern over a Gloss White Glaze Application Attributed to being Decorated in Limoges, France in"Excellent Plus" to"Near-Mint Condition" Used, Circa 1894 to 1900. I first want to explain that in the United States from the 1870s up until World War Two the biggest hobby in this country was painting on porcelain. You had amateur painters. Professional painters, professional porcelain decorating and painting studios and some American poreclain potteries had their own decorating ... moredepartments. One crucial piece of knowledege you kneed to know is that the vast majority of this porcelain artwork done by American porcelain artists was painted on blank white porcelain imported in from other countries, You had French Limoges porcelain, Bavarian porcelain(and it was its own state from 1806 to 1918) German porcelain, Austrian-Bohemian porcelain and some came from Nippon(which is Japan) and other Far East Asian countries. The reason for this was the United States was still in its infancy when it came to porcelain production and the imported porcelain blanks were much less expensive then our own American porcelain blanks in most cases. Because of this a common mistake is to attribute antique American painted porcelain as to being painted in the country on the backstamp. There was a law institued in 1891 by the United States requiring all goods imported into the U.S.A. to have the country of origin on it somewhere. Therefore we have an abundance of antique hand painted porcelain by Americans on blanks marked from another country. RARE--Lovely Antique Ovington's Limoges Creamer by T&V--approx. 90 yrs old. NR!
Gorgeous Yellow Limoges Creamer-early 1920s-made expressly by T&V for Ovington's New York! Ovington's was a famous(some say notorious) store in New York that specialized in household decorative items and tableware. Originally founded as Ovington Brothers in 1849. It changed it's name to Ovington's in 1920. In its heyday, Ovington's was as famous and prestigeous as its jewelry making counterpart, Tiffany's. Unfortunately it doe not survive the economic woes of the Great Depression. Tressemann& Vogt was one of many factories doing business in Limoges. France the late 19th/early 20th century. They produced many pieces of white ware that were decorated elsewhere and decorated porcelain as well. Their marks consisted of both a green rectangular underglaze T&V white ware mark and a red bell overglaze decorating ... moremark. As shown in the second picture. In 1919 Martial Reynaud bought the company and continued using the T&V mark for a while as well as his own Reynaud mark. Ovington's often commissioned tableware patterns from the finest manufacturers to be made expressly for. And limited to. Ovington's. Thus Ovington's would have patterns that no one else had. This little creamer is one of those items, as the marks on the bottom indicate. I have not been able to discover the name of the pattern. This incredible little creamer stands approximately 5" tall and approximately 4 1/4" from the top of the handle to the tip of the spout. It is in pristine. Near perfect condition. The only wear and tear is some slight wear on the unglazed edges on the bottom where it would have sat on a table or shelf. We should all look so good when we hit 90 years of age. Collectors will recognize that this is a rare find! Web Posting Information NO RESERVE HIGH BIDDER WINS THIS GORGEOUS SET Theodore Haviland Limoges France Porcelaine with Creamer and Sugar Bowl- along with lids for the pot and sugar bowl This gorgeous set was my grandmother's and on display in her china cabinet for over 55 years. She never used it. But from the mark it appears to have been made possibly in 1895. I have had it myself for over 25 years in addition to the time my grandmother had it. It is a beautiful white porcelain with a gold accent design and a floral pattern of pink and blue flowers with some green and what appears to me as yellow and purple. All three pieces are included in this auction as a set. The coffee pot or teapot or perhaps chocolate potmeasures approximately 9.5" tall x 7" x 6" and comes with the lid.The Sugar Bowl is 5" x 5" x 5" ... moreand also comes with the lid. The Creamer is 4.5" x 4.25" x 3"All of these pieces carry the same identical mark of- Porcelaine Theodore Haviland Limoges France. The set appears to be in excellent condition with only a teeny tiny chip on the spout of the coffee pot and a rough mark on lip of the sugar bowl which is like a spot where the glaze was missed. After careful feeling and visual examination I think it is safe to say that there are no defects to the creamer and no other defects to the pot or bowl than those noted. An excellent specimen for the collector from the time period so long ago. I don't know much about china other than Grandma sure had a lot of it! So. Antique Sugar Bowl Delinieres Limoges hand painted by White’s Art Co pre 1923 This unique and exquisite antique sugar bowl was handed down to me from my grandmother. It’s probably part of tea set but I have not found any other pieces like this to confirm that. It’s in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and only natural paint wear on the handles and at the top rim where the lid sets. What seems to be a paint blemish on the right side of the rim(see picture#6) appears to be White’s Art Co triangular stamp. It measures almost 3 inches tall. 5 inches wide from handle to handle, it has a 3 inch circumference top and a 3.5 inch circumference bottom. The porcelain blank was made by The Delinieres& Co from Limoges. France and the D&Co mark dates its manufacturing between 1894 and 1900. The intricate Gold painted roses in art deco ... morestyle were done by White’s Art Co of Chicago. The White's Studio of Chicago operated as a decorating Studio from 1914-1923 in downtown Chicago. During this era they produced hand painted wares that matched the great studios of the day including Pickard. Brauer, Donath, Osborne, and Stouffer. A number of their artists also decorated at the Pickard Studio, as well as other less known decorating studios. In fact, this piece looks very much like a Pickard piece but the famous red triangle mark of White’s Art Co proves otherwise. See Reed's Pickard Collectors Book for more information on this fine period studio(P.301-304) This beautiful piece glistens just like gold nuggets do in the sunshine though I have no proof that the paint actually contains pure gold. Antique LS & S Limoges France Small Milk Pitcher or Creamer-Petite Rose Pattern
This is an Antique Milk Pitcher or Creamer. Made by LS& S which is Lazarus Strauss and Sons(1869-1924) The backstamp says LS& S Limoges France in Green. There is another stamp on it next to the first one but I cannot read it clearly but it is also in green and looks like there is some lettering next to a star shaped design. This is Porcelain and handpainted with small petite pink roses. It has a gold handle and gold rim. There is not a lid to this pitcher. Pretty pouring spout. It stands 4 3/4" in height and is 2 3/4" wide at the base. The top is about 3" from the tip of the spout to the handle. No chips. Cracks, or stress areas noted. There is one very small area that feels a little rough under the spout but I can not visualize any chips at this spot. Thanks for looking!

Offered for your consideration is this beautiful antique B&H Limoges(France) open sugar bowl and cream pitcher featuring an emerald green leaf like design along with raised gold beaded designs and gold trim. At some point in its past. The basket style sugar bowl suffered a break at the upper rim near one side of the handle but has been artfully repaired with only faint hairlines and a lingering chip to tell the tale. The sugar"basket" is 5" x 4" oval shape and about 4¼" tall with the handle. The cream pitcher is 4" wide from tip of spout to edge of handle and 3-3/4" tall. I first want to explain that in the United States from the Mid 1870s until World War Two the biggest hobby in this country was painting on porcelain. Besides the amateur painters you also had professional painters. Professional porcelain decorating studios and ... moresome American poreclain potteries had their own decorating departments. One crucial piece of knowledege you need to know is that the vast majority of this porcelain artwork done by American porcelain artists was painted on blank white porcelain imported in from other countries, You had French Limoges porcelain, Bavarian porcelain(and Bavaria was its own kingdom from 1806 to 1918) German porcelain, Austrian-Bohemian porcelain and some came from Nippon(which is Japan) and other Far East Asian countries. The reason for this was the United States was still in its infancy when it came to porcelain production and the imported porcelain blanks were much less expensive to buy than our own American porcelain blanks in most cases. Because of this a common mistake is to attribute antique American painted porcelain as to being painted in the country on the backstamp. There was a law institued in 1891 by the United States requiring all goods imported into the U.S.A. to have the country of origin on it somewhere. Antique T&V Limoges France Hand Painted Pink Flowers Bone China 5" Dish
Not sure of age. It came from a private collection with items dating back to the late 1800's and others from the 1950's. It features hand painted flowers and greenery around the entire outside perimeter. The inside is very iridescent. There are a couple of nicks in the gold rim. Very small. The gold is worn off in some tiny places on the bottoms of the round feet. Over all it is in good condition and is quite beautiful. It measures five inches across at the widest and one and three quarters inches high. Would make a great sugar bowl.

Most likely considered a sauce bowl with those gorgeous large handles but it could also be used as a large sugar bowl. The bottom is marked with Mark 6"Limoges France" Reference for this mark can be found on page 404 of The Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain. Third Edition by Mary Frank Gaston. This mark was found on most of the white ware that used by hobbyists during the Victorian era. The painting on the cover is divided into six sections with gold painted arches containing yellow cabbage roses with green leaves and vines. The painting, ... morein larger scale, is repeated in the six sections of the bowl. The cover handle is shaped to look like two leaves. This painter of this hobbyist piece left their initials and year on the bottom. T.W.D. painted in 1914. The approximate measurements are; 8 1/8 wide including the handles, 6" wide without, 3 3/4" tall to the top of bowl, 4" tall to the top of the handles and not including the cover, 4 1/2" tall with the cover. Condition: The bowl is in excellent antique condition with just minor loss of gold. This is to be expected from a 100 year old piece. The two leaves that make up the handle of the cover have small chips which were covered in gold making them quite inconspicuous. NEWLY REDUCED PRICE This sale is for a William Guerin limoges sugar and creamer set acquired from an estate. The pieces are"squat" shaped and can stack one on top of the other. The bodies of the creamer and sugar bowl and lid are white with gold trim; the handles on the sugar bowl. Lid and creamer are solid gold color. Very good condition- minor discolorations on gold handles- see last two photos. Both the sugar bowl and creamer bear a distinctive William Guerin backstamp; research indicates that this backstamp was used only between 1891 and 1930. A beautiful antique set at a great price!

Antique Limoges France Hd Pted IRIS Flower Porcelain Creamer & Sugar Set REDUCED
This is a beautiful hand painted porcelain creamer and sugar set with an Iris flower design. This set has gold trimmed handles and rims with gold relief around the main flower. Both pieces are artist signed on the front: A. Foix. The under glaze mark is a green coiffe-mark with Limoges in the middle of the mark and Limoges on top with France below. This mark is attributed to circa 1891-1914. The over the glaze mark is also present. The larger sugar measures 4- 6/8" from long side to long side& about the same from the base to the top of the handle. It measures 3-1/4" inside the handles. The creamer is 5-1/8" from spout to the outside of the handle. The height is 3-3/4" from base to top of the handle. The width inside the bowl from side to side is 2-1/2" I've been a collector of glass& china for 40 years ... moreand was an antique dealer for over 20 years. Antique T& V Limoges France Gold Gilt Hand Painted w Initials CREAMER Pink Rose Up for sale is an antique Tressemann& Vogt Limoges France gold gilt with raised accents and hand painted creamer with an elegant handle. It's decorated with pink roses and signed on the bottom with the artist's initials. It's a bit over 3.5" at its tallest. There's a little chip on the edge of the spout with a loss of gold gilt-the porcelain is thinner there but not entirely missing and a touch of gold paint would make it very hard to spot. I purchased this at an estate auction and am uncertain of its age but early 20th century is my best guess. Please note that my shipping time is up to 5 business days as I have multiple jobs and can only ship one day a week.
