Antique 1880's Victorian Cast Iron Fireplace Cover.and could be used for Wall Art,this measures 11 3/4 by 14 inches in the square,then it measures 14 1/4 by 16 1/4 from the round ears to ears,so basically the square part is the smallest part not including the ears,it seems to have some very very old patina on it and im not sure if that is part of the original paint job or if it was ever repainted,but it is old,there are no crack or chips and it really needs a good cleaning,but i was told to leave it all original because most people like to refinish them or leave them in the original state,this probabley weighs around 12 pounds, it has what look like the number 70 on the back,i took a better picture of the number on the back so you could decide if it was that number, this was found in an old Ohio home and the other parts to the old fireplace ... morewere bad,so this was salvaged,Wow,what a beautiful peice this is and will look great on your old fireplace or just as a peice of Wall Art,

Designed by Thomas Jeckyll(English. 1827-1881) Made by Barnard, Bishop& Barnards, Norfolk Iron Works c1875(UK) Thomas Jeckyll is the architect of the famous"Peacock Room" which is installed at the Freer Gallery of Art in Washington DC until December 2015. It features a swiveling bottom grate and decorative lion's paw front pieces. The previous owner had it inside a Thomas Jeckyll"Cast Moth Signature" fireplace surround that was covered by a marble mantle via a recent remodel. He did not want to dismantle the marble work to reclaim the rest of the surround and was only selling the basket. The only flaw is a flat spot worn on one of the back wheels. This is an antique brass Art Deco fireplace fender. It is 49 1/2 inches long. It is 8 1/2 inches high. It is 14 1/2 inches wide. It is real brass. Not plated. I could not find any markings on it, but I am not sure where I would located them, since this is my first fender. The main problem is the left side corner piece is lose, it screws in, and I can't get it to tighten. It does show wear. No cracks or repairs. Does have some minor dents and green. One piece is 7 3/4" long; 2" wide and 2" deep at the nose of the lion. Antique Painted Cast Iron American Revolution HESSIAN SOLDIERS ANDIRONS 19th c.
The earliest Hessian Soldiers andirons were cast probably around 1800th. More andirons were cast after the Civil War. And foundries continued to cast them from the same mold into 1920th. The quality of the casting is the way to distinguish the old from the new: as the mold became worn the later casting are less sharp. Up for auction are 19th century Hessian Soldiers andirons with original paint. The casting are still sharp and they could have been cast any time from 1860. They each measure 19 1/2" h x 9 1/4" w x 19 1/2"d. Total weight is 38 lbs. The andirons are in great condition. Please see the pictures for more details. Arts and Crafts Owl Handled Fire Tools, Early 20 C. Antiques, 3 Tools with Stand
These are early 20th C. Arts and Crafts owl handled fire tools with a matching stand. These sets are often attributed to Rostland Manufacturing Company. Milford, CT, but I am not sure of their maker. The stand is marked"651-1" MADE IN USA" The set is missing a brush that would have sat on the rear of the stand. The poker, tongs and shovel are 26.5"L, and the stand is 27"H with a 9.5"x7" base. There is significant oxidation of the finish from use in a fire place. Further, the stand's handle turns slightly, but this does not affect its use. The tools and stand are well made. Antique Victorian Cast Iron Fireplace Reflector Fireback
Charming. Traditional and Classical. We have a gorgeous 3 piece inter-locking antique cast iron fire place reflector fireback with Victorian feel. The middle panel is gold gilded decorated with a heraldic wreath and the sides are adorned long flowing ribbon bows. These are aesthetically pleasing with or without a fire. When you do have a fire or light candles. The cast iron absorbs the fire's heat and radiates it forward, keeping you toasty even when the fire goes out. Firebacks protect the fireplace's back wall as well. The back panel in the measures 30" high X 20 1/4" wide. Each of the side panels measures 28" high X 14 3/4" wide.
