This is an absolutely stunning pair of large antique ornate solid brass Victorian fireplace andirons. They are made from heavy brass and exquisite ornate detailing throughout. Footed with very detailed. Three dimensional claw feet and heavily embossed lion heads in between with beautiful scrolls completing the composition. The shaft is also very detailed and topped with a large multi-level brass finial. The back wood rests are made from solid cast iron. And have a brass plating on the top with a flame finial. This is a stunning pair of antique ornate solid gilded bronze fireplace andirons. they are made from thick bronze and have a wonderful patina from age. they are extremely detailed with a flame finial. Column shaft, and beautiful claw feet. the back wood rests are made from cast iron. each measures 17 inches tall by 8 1/4 inches wide by 15 1/2 inches back to front. they are in nice antique shape. One of the back rests is a bit longer but cant be seen when used as andirons. Local estate find! Antique brass? bronze? figural fireplace andirons. These were purchased at a Grand Rapids Estate sale from a family that traveled extensively. They feature lion heads with claw feet and acanthus leaves. The twisted spiral accents add extra detail. They are 24"tall. 11" wide and 19" from front to back. They will ship unassembled. These lion's head andirons were used together with the tools even though they didn't match up the same but looked great together. The andirons don't have log holders attached because they were used with a different log set up. If you need a set they are easy to find. Each piece measures 20.5" tall and 9.5" across at the feet. They are very heavy. Each one weighs almost 10 lbs. The condition is very good. They do not need anything except polishing if you don't like the brass patina. Antique Iron Brass Andirons ornate lion head fireplace
This pair of Victorian black iron fireplace andirons have ornate bodies with feet and lion heads. The balls at the top are not iron but lighter hollow metal. Possibly brass that have been painted a copperish color in the past. There is a dime size dent on back of one of the balls.please see next to last pic. They are 13" deep, 19" high and 8.25" at widest point.
