This mantle is marked 1893 and is made of gorgeous golden oak. This is a rare-to-find complete fireplace mantle with tile surround and cast iron insert. It must have been pulled out as a whole. The original fireplace celery green tiles are of high quality(probably TRENT) tiles and have soot marks that exactly match the wood surround and the same is for the cast iron fireplace cover. The tiles were removed with their original mounting board that was installed with the mantle. Everything matches up beautifully forming a complete mantle set as it must have stood in an incredible 1890's Victorian. Art Nouveau was all about bringing nature into the home. ... moreHere you have leaf and pea pod vine design and carved tree forms in the columns. It is a brief period where conventional design was replaced by whimsical concepts. The celery tile color and oak woods all combine to bring nature inside the home. There is even a free-form carved tree decoration at the top that is SO unique! Imagine selling this concept to the homeowner's decorator! This is a rare mantle for sure! This is also a ball& stick design which was popular in the late 1800's with turned spools at the upper. Mid and lower galleries. There is a cast iron center boiler main section behind the decorative cast iron(pictured as main section) which forms the majority of the mantle and fireplace piece and which has. Antique Cast Iron Fireplace Mantle From Victorian Estate. Red.
This item was purchased at the estate auction of a run down victorian era town home in Newton NC. The home itself was built in 1889 and this fireplace mantle may be one of the original ones that were placed inside. I measured this one and the other one I got with it but I have their heights confused as one is shorter than the other so i'll double check that and post the accurate measurements asap! The red one I believe is about 4-5 feet tall. Due to the size and weight of these guys i'm not sure if i'll be able to ship them through my post office. If not you will be fully refunded. But if you want to pay for freight shipping I suppose we can work with that though i'm not sure how to do it. It has no damage that I can see though it is quite dirty and could use a good cleaning.

Out of an old 1890s Southern Victorian home about to be demolished this wonderful old cast iron surround was rescued. This surround has been stripped of many layers of stubborn and brittle paint. Measuring 27 1/2" Tall x 25" Wide or across the front. The inside dimension is 24 1/2" Tall x 18 1/2" Wide. After cleaning it turned put great. There is a small break at the bottom of the tight inside bottom hard to see but does not affect the surround in any way. Please take a look.

20"H Antique Cast Brass Iron Fireplace Mantel Mantle Andirons Hearth Log Holders
Penn Antique Restoration. 20" H Pair Antique Brass Fireplace Andirons. These beautiful antique andirons were made around the first half of the previous century and were salvaged from Northeastern PA. They have cast iron shanks. And heavy, cast brass guards. Unlike many lesser quality andirons available on eBay; the guards on these andirons are not plates or halves-the design you see on the front is the design you see on the back. Each guard has curved legs and a bulbous. Tapered body with 2 cups and a solid finial on top. The shanks, which hold the logs, curve to the sides of the guards at which point they continue straight, away from the guards. There is a brass plate covering the curved portion of each shank. Notice the delicate brass finials adorning the shanks at the point where their curves end—what lovely accents! The beauty of ... morethe design is enhanced by a wonderful. Rich patina. One of the guards has a significant degree of verdigris(green patina) We rubbed them with oil to accentuate the beauty of the patina, and we scrubbed the shanks with steel wool and WD40 to remove most of the rust. Antique Victorian Art Nouveau cast iron fireplace surround with grate in very good solid condition. No cracks or welds and as you can see it is very detailed. Measures 30 1/2 inches tall and 31 1/4 inches wide. Inside is 24 1/2 inches wide, 23 1/2 inches tall without grate, if you measure from top of grate it is 16 1/2 inches. Up for sale here is a Cast iron fireplace mantle trim insert.This is a beauty. This Insert came off of a 1920's Arts and Crafts Mantle. This insert is in fantastic condition with just a very small place with some minor surface rust only.There are no breaks. Bends, or other obvious defects that I can find. It comes complete with the log holder and original hookups for it. There are lots of very ornate deigns and decorations all over and even on the log holder itself. I did NOT even attempt to clean it or even apply any solvents to it. Only a wipe off with a damp cloth. The measurements are 27" wide x 31" tall x 3" thick. Thank you for taking a look!
