Antique fireplace or stove mantel or insert. The pictures describe it best. Very intricate details. It stands about 31 inches tall and is about 25 1/2 inches wide. The left leg is broken off near the top as you can see in the last photo. The right leg is broken off at the top behind the top section so the break is actually hidden from the front view. 20"H Antique Cast Brass Iron Fireplace Mantel Mantle Andirons Hearth Log Holders
Penn Antique Restoration. 20" H Pair Antique Brass Fireplace Andirons. These beautiful antique andirons were made around the first half of the previous century and were salvaged from Northeastern PA. They have cast iron shanks. And heavy, cast brass guards. Unlike many lesser quality andirons available on eBay; the guards on these andirons are not plates or halves-the design you see on the front is the design you see on the back. Each guard has curved legs and a bulbous. Tapered body with 2 cups and a solid finial on top. The shanks, which hold the logs, curve to the sides of the guards at which point they continue straight, away from the guards. There is a brass plate covering the curved portion of each shank. Description This is a nice piece that was salvaged from a Clarion. PA Victorian Home. It is all cast iron. The back and sides have daisies all over in varying sizes. The top piece and vent are present. There is light surface rust overall. It measures approx. 28.75 inches wide by 29 inches tall and is 15.25 inches thick. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. The two tabs that hinge the sides to the back are broken.
