This is a very rare pair of large antique victorian copper and brass fireplace andirons. made in mid to late 1800's they are made from extremely thick copper and brass and are extremely heavy. in a victorian style with exquisite detailing throughout. the base if footed with large routed ornate feet and the center has a heavily embossed female face and a fleur-de-lis underneath. it is very thick with bubble and floral trim. the base meets the large copper globe with a ribbed brass section. the globe shaped body is made from very thick copper and also is very ornate with demonic faces connected with hung fruit. Up for auction are an amazing set of antique andirons/ firedogs. I was told by the person I bought these from that they were from the 1850's. They are definitely old and resemble andirons/ firedogs from the period of the Arts& Crafts movement. They each measure 32.5 inches in height x 24 inches in length and 15 inches across the base. There is no signature or hallmark on the andirons. It is possible these are older than the Arts& Crafts movement because of the possett cups. Possett was a popular medicinal drink from the medieval period to the 19th century. The andirons are in excellent condition and quite heavy. Description This is a beautiful piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian home. It is made of poplar and is currently painted brown. There are great curvy legs with ornate faces supporting the shelf. There are ornate details on the breast. The opening is framed in egg and dart molding. This one can not be stripped. All of the ornaments are a plaster material. It measures 60 inches wide by 52 inches tall and is 10.5 inches thick. The fireplace opening is 41.25 inches wide by 38.5 inches tall. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. The right mounting board and part of the foot needs replacing. Antique Bronze Fireplace Fender with Ornate Marble Urns (old)
Beautiful very ornate Victorian fireplace fender. This is a large and heavy piece the bronze was originaly had a gold tone finish. The piece has never been refinished and now has very warm patina. This is a large piece 72" by 19" overall. 64" by 13" inside. Uurn ends are almost 18" high. The urns are eye catching and made of layered marble. Two of the small round screw on medallions(shown in my hand) are missing from the back of the base under one of the Urns(not very noticeable) They could be reproduced from a mold of one of the other 14 originals. I have had this piece for 50 yrs. My guess on age is 80-100 yrs but it may be older. Shipping, I will coordinate shipping by U-Ship or I will disassemble at buryers option/risk for standard package type shipping.

Large Fireplace Ant Irons from California Spanish Mansion
These Ant Irons and Screen came out of a huge Spanish Home in Los Gatos.Calif. The home was an R&R Retreat for the Royal Dutch Navy during the 2nd World war. The home was called the Hock Van Holland. Queen( Princess) Juliana visited the home during the war. These Ant Irons were in the huge fireplace in the game room. When we sold the home in 1989 we moved to Bend, Oregon and they were put in storage. Anybody that has a large home with a large fireplace should own these amazing one of a kind Ant Iron and Screen set. Enjoy!
