This is a great pair of owl andirons with large amber glass eyes. They are a nice size. There is a ruler to show size. On the bottom of the log holder it has the number 1120- L. Peck Stow& Wilcox Company I found these great Owl Andirons in my 94-year-old father’s estate. They’ve been in my family for as long as I can recall. I remember as a boy staring at the yellow glass eyes as the fire lit them from behind. These very beautiful(and very heavy. Each one almost 7 pounds) Perched Owl Andirons are in amazing condition. There are NO breaks, cracks or signs or past repairs. The yellow glass eyes look just like new, and the light of the fire makes them glow like the owl is alive! It is rare to find all four glass eyes in PERFECT condition; there are no cracks. Chips or scratches on the eyes. The Owl measures 15.5’ tall and is 9.75” wide at the base. The firedog(the piece that the logs rest ... moreon) measures 14.75” long. One of the firedogs is missing. They sell replacement firedogs at fireplace shops and it simply slides into a track on the back side of the andiron. The markings on the inside of each andiron are P S& W Co. There are two other markings a‘G’ and‘S’ stacked over one another to the left of the company stamp. CT Below is a history of the company; The origin of the Peck. Stow& Wilcox Co. dates back to 1797. In that year Seth Peck. Antique cast iron Owl Andirons marked ROSTAND 407 E. Excellent condition. Very clean. Minimal rust on the back sides. No rust or imperfections on the front. It is very rare to find a set in such great condition! One of the glass eyes has a small crack in it. But no chip. It is not very noticeable. The eyes appear to follow you as you move about the room! And they glow when in front of a roaring fire! They appear a bit shiney in the photos; they were recently cleaned& rubbed with a bit of mineral oil.

You want something cool for your fireplace or hearth? These are COOL! Cast iron owls stand 13" tall. Stand extends 17" from the front of each owl to the back. Heavy. Solid, complete. This pair of owls is in great shape. Coolest feature are the orange glass marble eyes that flicker when the fire is lit behind them. They spring to life as you enjoy your cozy fire. Rare to find a set that isn't missing at least one eye. Eyes are in great condition with only very tiny flaws that appear to be scratches and not chips on one owl. Conversation piece, cool decorative items, functional. Quite a set! One owl does have a small pin point hole thru the casting. Too small to make out in the photos.

RARE ANTIQUE PAIR ANDIRONS CAST IRON FIREPLACE FRENCH BULLDOGS GREEN GLASS EYES
This auction is for a pair of rare antique Andirons cast iron fireplace dogs. I think these dogs are either French Bulldogs or Boston Terrier Bulldogs. There are some letters embossed on the back of each dog. But I can't make them out. I think it stands for Liberty Foy Labrador. Each dog has original green glass eyes. one of the eyes has a little rust stain on it. As far as I can see, the eyes don't have any chips. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs to the cast iron. There is light surface rust on them. I took some pictures with the flash and some without. These are a darker brown color. Each one stands 17 inches high by 7 inches wide. The original back brackets that would have held the logs are not there. I made brackets to hold the dogs up, so they could stand by themselves. Sold as is. In need of a good cleaning and a little TLC This fantastic and very early pair of cast iron owl andirons do have cracks in each of the four eyes but all are original to the piece. They can easily be repaired or replaced. Also one of the feet for making them stand upright is missing, otherwise the overall condition is still quite good for their age, and these can be restored quite easily and inexpensively. Each measures roughly 13 3/4" tall by 8 1/2" wide at the base and roughly 17" deep. Save a ton off retail and do the restoration work yourself, to make sure you get exactly the design you want! Nice pair of antique cast iron owl fireplace andirons with clear glass eyes. they have old silver paint on the front and old white paint on the back. They are a genuine antique pair very old and not perfect. They both have some surface rust. One has a small chip on the ear and a small hole just above the right foot, the other has a small hole on the right ear and the stand has been replaced and welded to the owl body this repair is solid and strong. Antique/Vtg Fireplace Cast Iron Canvasback Ducks /Loons, Glass Eyes for Andirons
Check out my other items! This is a pair of antique or vintage cast iron either canvasback ducks or loons with glass eyes that I was told were around a fireplace. They are 16 1/4" long x 6 1/2" tall x about 3" wide. One is heavier than the other and together they weigh almost 15 lbs. These were acquired as an estate item. I was also told that the man used to put his feet on these in front of the fireplace when he was a child. These may have been from andirons. A log grate, or maybe they were door stops made into fireplace items. Two of the bolts were there when I acquired these and two were missing and I replaced them- you can see these in the pictures. These came straight from an estate of a long time antique hoarder. they are made of cast iron and are 15 1/2 tall and 9 1/2 wide at the legs. because these were found in the barn they have a nice rust colored patina. i did not touch them at all.
