The bottom is a standard mantle front which we added a little interior lip to b/c our fireplace was a bit smaller. So you can fashion this around various sized fireplaces. The top section is a topper that sits on top and will need to be bolted/ affixed to the wall and rests on the mantle-top. The entire piece you are seeing here is 66" wide and 68" tall from the ground to the top ball on either corner. I see no detrimental damage to it whatsoever. It's clean and lovely. This is one of the most impressive mantle's I've had. At first I thought it was primitive but it's definitely Victorian and called Stick& Ball. It was for a drafting firm. Dentist office or school house as the little drawers have pencil/utility trays. Which I've photographed for you. It's actually 2 pieces. The bottom is a standard mantle front which we added a little interior lip to b/c our fireplace was a bit smaller. So you can fashion this around various sized fireplaces. The top section is a topper that sits on top and will need to be bolted/ affixed to the wall and rests on the mantle-top. This is a heavy. Solid oak fireplace taken from an old local, historic home. The fireplace surround is constructed of fumed oak in the mission style. It was purchased in the late 1800's from a furniture store in Ft. Worth, Texas and still has a partial paper label on the back. The mantle is in all original condition, never having been refinished. Handcrafted Mantle Piece 42" tall. 53 3/4 wide. About 10" deep, I will measure it soon. The home it was removed from is 238 Keller Street in Petaluma CA. Which I'm told is on the Historical Registry. The top portion is five feet wide to the very outside moulding. The elegantly carved torch area is 53-1/2" x 8" high x 6-1/4" deep. At the end of the 90 degree crown moulding. One end has a piece broken off, and the other very end piece is missing. The front is flawless and beautifully The bottom portion with the mirror is 52-1/2" across at the top crown moulding. The main large area at the mirror is 51-1/2" across at the top crown moulding. The main large area at the mirror is 51.75" across. This section is 24" high to the security shelf. It is 22.75" to top of moulding shelf. The large par of the torch pot stands out about 1" from the main ... moresurface. The carved torch piece on each side is slightly chipped on the right side. A beautiful Quartersawn Oak Fireplace Mantel with bevel edged Mirror. Circa 1880. We are pleased to present this fabulous antique Quartersawn Oak Fireplace Mantel for your consideration. In the Arts& Crafts/ Mission style. The Mantel features a large beveled edge mirror above the shelf, along with a variety of decorative touches including attractive striping of the wood grain on the two vertical columns. The Mantel has overall dimensions of 82 inches high. 60-1/2 inches wide, and 14 inches deep. We estimate the weight at 150 pounds- two people can move it with effort, although its large size makes it somewhat torquey to handle. The mirror measures 17-1/2 inches high by 29-3/8 inches wide. The shelf is 44 inches wide and 7-1/2 inches deep. At the front. The opening for the fireplace is 39 inches high by 41-1/2 inches wide. At the back ... moreedge, the opening is 50 inches wide. Picture 5 shows where the"front" and"back" measurements were taken. Measuring from the wall, to the back edge of the"front" point, the depth is 5-1/4 inches. Faults are few and minor with this antique fixture. The silvering on the mirror shows only minor deterioration. With a few tiny black spots, and some larger areas of crazing where it still reflects. There are a few small burn marks(see pictures 3 and 4) but they only affect the surface finish. There is one noticeable bump to the front edge of the shelf(seen in picture 10) but it is not very large. Other than these issues, the Mantel is in fine shape. We rate the overall condition as very good. This is a gorgeous Arts& Crafts/ Mission style Oak Mantel. It would make a wonderful decorative piece for your remodeling project! It has an oval mirror and four columns. Condition This mantle is of great craftsmanship but it is in need of some refurbishing that someone familiar with these pieces should be able to easily restore and bring it back to its glory. Some of the refurbishing needed: Left side of frame around mirror is cracked. A section on the top of the mirror is discolored, there is a small piece chipped off of the top of the right bottom column, there is a small crack on the board that slides one of the columns in place, and a number of small stains or discoloration. It has a nice mirror that measures 35 1/2" x 17" The dimensions of the mantle are 59"W x 82"H x 10"D. The opening is 41 1/2" x 39" The shelf is 41 1/2" x 8 1/2"D. It is in very good condition. Here's a beautiful old mantlepiece from a CIncinnati area home. It features a unique curved detail on the columns. And a removable upper section with beveled mirror. To my knowledge. The finish is original, but it has some paint drips and brushmarks as shown. It should clean up very well with some TLC. The brick veneer insert is removable and appears to have been installed without modifying the surround. Mirror appears original as well. There are a pair of maker's tags on the backside and the name"J W Balker" Measurements- 60" wide. 77-1/2" tall, 14" deep. The fireplace opening is about 36"tall by 42" wide. This is a beautifully crafted Arts& Crafts style mantle and mirror from an historic home in Annapolis. Maryland. It has been carefully handled and is ready to be picked up and installed in a new home- it's one big piece that's perfectly intact, no scratches or anything. There are a few trim pieces that come with it, that have also been carefully preserved. Unfortunately the way we're renovating the home, we're unable to hang on to it. Solid Oak, gorgeous detail.
