The feet in the front are lions heads and are solid brass. It has to be from the late 1800's. It is 41 inches wide. We are offering a brass fireplace fender that we found at an estate sale. It measures approximately 42” w x 7 ½” h x 14” d. We are selling in‘as found condition’ I wiped it off but it has not been polished. It definitely has a patina and a lot of spots where the shine is gone. The only issue to note is that on one side. The bottom sits off the ground a little bit so it’s not completely level. The distance off the ground at the back corner is ½” so it’s not off by a lot. Antique steel or cast iron curved fireplace surround#6 as shown in photos. Not sure of the maker. The only marking I see is a" 6" cast into the metal shown in last photo. Dimensions across high points of surround are approximately 22 1/2" x 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" high. Metal thickness is between 1/8" and 3/16" Very good condition for it's age. Antique Bronze Fireplace Fender with Ornate Marble Urns (old)
Beautiful very ornate Victorian fireplace fender. This is a large and heavy piece the bronze was originaly had a gold tone finish. The piece has never been refinished and now has very warm patina. This is a large piece 72" by 19" overall. 64" by 13" inside. Uurn ends are almost 18" high. The urns are eye catching and made of layered marble. Two of the small round screw on medallions(shown in my hand) are missing from the back of the base under one of the Urns(not very noticeable) They could be reproduced from a mold of one of the other 14 originals. I have had this piece for 50 yrs. My guess on age is 80-100 yrs but it may be older. Antique Art Deco Fireplace Fender or Screen--All Brass--49 inches long
This is an antique brass Art Deco fireplace fender. It is 49 1/2 inches long. It is 8 1/2 inches high. It is 14 1/2 inches wide. It is real brass. Not plated. I could not find any markings on it, but I am not sure where I would located them, since this is my first fender. The main problem is the left side corner piece is lose, it screws in, and I can't get it to tighten. It does show wear. No cracks or repairs. Does have some minor dents and green. Fireplace Fender - Antique 1800's Brass and Plate Victorian Ball & Stick
TIME TO MOVE THIS VERY NICE ITEM- NEW LOWER PRICE! A very nice-looking fireplace fender from my family home. Built in 1895. I would guess the fender itself was"original equipment" in the house, especially comparing it with the other fenders that came from same house. But it could be 1890's- 1910's, I am guessing. Only minimally polished in order to clean up. The spindles or uprights are solid brass and are not magnetic. The top two tubular cross pieces are brass plate. The base is not magnetic or is only very slightly. Maybe due to the iron brackets and screws underneath. This piece has a lovely scale to it and only has minimal dings and bumps- no serious dents and no cracks or bad stains. The posts are in great condition and just look super after a minimum of buffing. Details: 39 inches long by 9.5 inches deep by 7 inches ... morehigh. Weight: Nine pounds. This is a small weighted brass Antique fireplace screen fender that has a wonderful floral wreath at the center and beading above the base top. It has a British Registry number on the front right side. That at least partially is Rd No. 6. The back of the bottom is weighted with a heavy steel plate. Don't let this get away! SIZE: About 17-3/4" wide by about 11" high by about 4-1/4" deep. The rolled top is about 3/4" deep. CONDITION: It has old polish residue and haziness. Needs a strong buffing. We are leaving it for the purchaser to do as seen fit. Soft dents but they don't take away for the warmth of this piece. MARKS: It has a British Registry number on the right side.
