The bottom is a standard mantle front which we added a little interior lip to b/c our fireplace was a bit smaller. So you can fashion this around various sized fireplaces. The top section is a topper that sits on top and will need to be bolted/ affixed to the wall and rests on the mantle-top. The entire piece you are seeing here is 66" wide and 68" tall from the ground to the top ball on either corner. I see no detrimental damage to it whatsoever. It's clean and lovely. 63"x50" Antique Red Oak Wood Victorian Fireplace Mantel Mantle Stripped Restored
Penn Antique Restoration. 63"x50" Antique Red Oak Victorian Fireplace Mantel Exquisite. Antique, solid, red oak fireplace mantel salvaged from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The mantel has an exquisite Victorian style design. Each leg has a round. Tapered, half-fluted column with round base and ornate capital. Notice the carved acanthus leaves on the capitals, and their reeded sides-what great accents! The body has lovely acanthus and volute motif in the center sitting atop a stepped ledge with dental molding. The crown molding, directly below the shelf also has steps and dental detail. Restoration: At the point of salvage. The mantel was covered under several layers of paint, and a thick layer of stain and varnish. The body is made up of 2 boards, and the 2 boards separated from each other at some point(see photos under"Prior ... moreto restoration" In order to thoroughly remove the paint. Stain and finish, we had to take apart the whole mantel. We hand-scraped and sanded each piece, and then put them back together with new nails, drywall screws, and boards on the back acting as stiffeners. Now, the mantel is stronger and sturdier than ever! We rejoined the 2 boards of the body. And most of the applied carvings are intact. However, there are some pieces missing including a volute. If you would like us to hand-carve and apply the missing pieces, email us for a quote. Condition: The mantel is in great structural condition. There are some cosmetic blemishes. Which we opted not to repair in case you prefer a more distressed look. There are chips, scrapes, and scratches in various parts of the mantel. The most obvious are shown in the"Close up" photos. The light scrapes and scratches will sand-out during the prep-sanding phase, prior to applying stain, or could filled with wood putty prior to painting. This mantle is marked 1893 and is made of gorgeous golden oak. This is a rare-to-find complete fireplace mantle with tile surround and cast iron insert. It must have been pulled out as a whole. The original fireplace celery green tiles are of high quality(probably TRENT) tiles and have soot marks that exactly match the wood surround and the same is for the cast iron fireplace cover. The tiles were removed with their original mounting board that was installed with the mantle. Everything matches up beautifully forming a complete mantle set as it must have stood in an incredible 1890's Victorian. Art Nouveau was all about bringing nature into the home. ... moreHere you have leaf and pea pod vine design and carved tree forms in the columns. It is a brief period where conventional design was replaced by whimsical concepts. The celery tile color and oak woods all combine to bring nature inside the home. Penn Antique Restoration. 56"x81" Antique Restored Carved Victorian Oak Fireplace Mantel Gorgeous. Antique, fireplace mantel salvaged from an old plantation home in Central Georgia. It is made entirely of red oak(no veneer) and dates back to the 1880's. The lower half has a fairly straightforward design with a few accents including a turned. Tapered column on each leg; a carved starburst motif above each column; and chamfered edges on both sides of each leg. The upper half has 4 shelves(2 long and 2 short) a recessed panel in the center contoured with egg and dart molding and an oval opening for a mirror; 2 turned. Tapered columns with a carved plinth block in the middle; and a lovely crown with curved ends. Glass: The original mirror had very little silvering left. So we didn't include it. The mantel will need a new mirror(flat ... moreor beveled) which we could order and install for you. If you would like a bigger mirror, we could remove the whole panel(the area in between the ornate molding) and install a rectangular mirror. The mantel was covered under many layers of paint, and some parts were broken or missing(mostly decorative appliqués) We acquired the mantel in pieces. This facilitated the stripping process. But made putting it back together very difficult. We reassembled the mantel using modern glue, nails, and drywall screws. We also added hardwood stiffeners to the back of the mantel. Now, it's stronger and sturdier than ever! Condition: Considering that the mantel is about 130 years old. It's in amazing condition! You will find the typical cosmetic blemishes: nicks, scrapes, scratches, and small nail holes. However, to the antique enthusiast, those are character marks not flaws. There are no structural threats(i.e. breaks, cracks, rotting, etc. Finishing: All this beauty needs now is a nice stain and/or finish. We've finished many mantels before(see last 5 photos)

Antique Cast Iron Fireplace Mantle From Victorian Estate. Red.
This item was purchased at the estate auction of a run down victorian era town home in Newton NC. The home itself was built in 1889 and this fireplace mantle may be one of the original ones that were placed inside. I measured this one and the other one I got with it but I have their heights confused as one is shorter than the other so i'll double check that and post the accurate measurements asap! The red one I believe is about 4-5 feet tall. Due to the size and weight of these guys i'm not sure if i'll be able to ship them through my post office. If not you will be fully refunded. But if you want to pay for freight shipping I suppose we can work with that though i'm not sure how to do it. It has no damage that I can see though it is quite dirty and could use a good cleaning.

The fireplace opening size is 22 3/4" x 35 3/4" This mantle is absolutely beautiful. Very ornate and there are no missing pieces. The over mantle is original to this piece. Making this a very rare, complete and one of a kind piece! This is a great looking mantle with aged shellac(varnish) patina and finish. There is some slight discoloration on the top and the over mantle(see pictures) but could be easily sanded and new shellac applied. This mantel features a carved head surrounded by flowers in the center just under the shelf flanked by carved paw feet and legs on each side. The carving on this piece is absolutely stunning! This piece has been refinished at some point. Must have been redone some time ago as there are very tiny/sparse white paint specks on the top. You have to look closely to see them. Other flaws include a piece of trim missing off of the top of the right leg, a very small piece of trim missing from the square part at the bottom of the right front leg, a hole was drilled just to the right of the right leg which was probably for mounting purposes and there is a 1" long piece of trim missing on the top left side towards the ... moreback just under the top shelf. All minor and none detract from the over all appearance. You can view them in the many pictures below. Over all this mantel measures about 61 1/8" wide X 11 1/2" deep X 48" tall. This beauty came out of an old mansion in Bardstown, KY. It stands 87" tall to the broken arch pediment finial and is 53" wide. The inside fireplace opening is 36 1/4" tall and 35 1/2" wide. It has its three original beveled mirrors, two nicely turned tapered columns, galleries and lots of decorative trim all in absolutely excellent original used condition. Vtg Antique 19c Victorian Art Nouveau Fireplace Surround Woman Cherub Mantle
Original Victorian Art Nouveau Fireplace Surround This is an antique fireplace surround that I recently removed from an old building in my area. This is an original Victorian piece that dates from the 1870’s to the 1890’s. The surround and grill are made of brass or bronze plated cast iron. The cover is made of tin. This surround has a total of 5 pieces: The top. Two sides, the bottom grill, and the cover. This is an awesome piece. It’s very ornate and detailed. It’s full of art nouveau design elements and has lots of swirled filigree and ornate texturing. It has a woman on the top. Cherubs on the sides, and even has little cherubs holding the tops of the columns. It’s in excellent condition with great patina. It has general wear and some very light rust in a few places. But doesn’t have any specific damages. There aren’t any chips, cracks ... moreor broken pieces on this piece. It has all of the original screws. This piece is 25 1/4 in. wide at the bottom. 25 1/8 in. wide at the top and stands 30 5/8 in. tall. It will stand about 3 in. off of the wall when installed. The opening for the fireplace measures about 20 1/4 in. wide and about 25 in. tall. This could fit an opening slightly larger than the measurements given above, but please make sure your measurements are spot on before you order! This piece will be disassembled for shipping. The mantle you are viewing came from an old victorian house. The wood carving is amazing. It is a reminder of the times when wood working was a common art. The mantle is two-tier, and has a mirror. The mirror may looks to be a later addition. The mantle is about 80" high, 54" wide and 10.5" thick(when looking at the shelves) The mirror is 23" x 13" The shelf height is 23" this is space the space between the shelfs. Out of an old 1890s Southern Victorian home about to be demolished this wonderful old cast iron surround was rescued. This surround has been stripped of many layers of stubborn and brittle paint. Measuring 27 1/2" Tall x 25" Wide or across the front. The inside dimension is 24 1/2" Tall x 18 1/2" Wide. After cleaning it turned put great. There is a small break at the bottom of the tight inside bottom hard to see but does not affect the surround in any way. Please take a look.

Antique oak double fluted fireplace mantle from mansion. Sorry about the pictures I could not lift the top piece and place on the bottom piece as it was to heavy. Was taken off of the bottom for transport.As mentioned it has a small amount of scrapping on the shelf edge that needs sanded a bit. The bottom piece measures 60" across x height 49-3/4" and depth from back to front 11-3/8" The inside area measures 41-1/2" x ht. 39" The mirror itself measures 35-1/2" x 15-3/4" Has ghosting. I am so sorry that the pictures are not the best-I could not move the mantle myself and had just gotten five mantles. Five surrounds, plus. And three sets of doors, ten cast iron window grates plus at one delivery in my garage. If you live close you may view before bidding. Back to the mantle-heavy, heavy. In wonderful condition except as picture show a few pieces of the flat decorative pieces are missing. You can find a few and reglue then on or leave all of them off and apply stain to those areas. A few scratches, nicks but I do not think that this needs any refinishing. In the pictures above the top area is another piece that is present that is not shown to the top of this area stands 90" Width at top widest area 60" Back to front depth of 12-1/2" The opening measures width 41-1/2" x ht. 41-3/8" The mantle I believe ... moreis oak? beautiful top column detail along with urn and floral design. This piece came out of a restaurant that closed long ago in the South Jersey area. I'm not exactly sure of its age. It needs some TLC but I don't see anything major that is wrong with it that it couldn't be restored to be a magnificent piece. The measurements are as follows: 59 1/2" tall x 60" wide x 13 3/4" deep. Antique Victorian Art Nouveau cast iron fireplace surround with grate in very good solid condition. No cracks or welds and as you can see it is very detailed. Measures 30 1/2 inches tall and 31 1/4 inches wide. Inside is 24 1/2 inches wide, 23 1/2 inches tall without grate, if you measure from top of grate it is 16 1/2 inches. Victorian Eastlake Spoon-Carved Stick-and-Ball Cherry Fireplace Mantle Surround
This is an outstanding Eastlake spoon-carved stick-and-ball cherrywood mantle. Circa 1881 from an estate near Des Moines, IA. The dimensions are 55 ¾" W × 48 ½" H × 13" D. With a ~ 2 ½" overhang on each side(total width is 60" The hearth opening is 38 ¼" W × 36" H. The mantle has been professionally refinished(not by me) But is not without minor cosmetic defects that are typical for its age. There are small dings& dents, and no attempt has been made to fill, remove or otherwise disguise these blemishes. They are a part of the patina. Most notably, the top cherry board has slight( ¼" cupping and short end splits which the restorer attempted to pull down using countersunk wood screws through the board and filled with cherry dowels. There has been minor shrinkage ... morealong some joints. Particularly pieces of replacement trim at the base that are not an exact color match. The opening bid on eBay is set at $968.37($843.15 + $96.84 eBay fee + $28.38 PayPal fee) This opening bid is set at this price point so that once a bid has been placed. It has an oval mirror and four columns. Condition This mantle is of great craftsmanship but it is in need of some refurbishing that someone familiar with these pieces should be able to easily restore and bring it back to its glory. Some of the refurbishing needed: Left side of frame around mirror is cracked. A section on the top of the mirror is discolored, there is a small piece chipped off of the top of the right bottom column, there is a small crack on the board that slides one of the columns in place, and a number of small stains or discoloration.
