It is too small to be a chamber stick, and too large to be part of an inkstand. Also there is no fitting on the bottom to attach to an inkstand. I would date it to approximately 1750 give or take. The TH mark has been attributed to Thomas Hammersley of NY. I have finally decided it is a duty dodging British mark. On the underside of the rim are some scratch engravings 2 .13 which could refer to 2 ounces 13 dwt. or 2.65 troy oz which would work as the current weight is 2.37 troy oz. which would mean during use the piece lost a little weight, as expected.

Here is a beautiful old piece of sheet music. The Unknown Soldier" by Magdalena Johann Chambers. It is copyright MCMXXX. The music is six pages long, counting backs and fronts, with the actual music notes and words on pages 3, 4, and 5. There are four verses. the song begins, At Arlington his body lies, Unknown in name, unknown in fame, the soldier of the stars and stripes. It has been protected in a plastic cover and is in very good condition. There are a few light smudges here and there, no tears. It was folded at some point as there is a light crease. Inskeep& Co. of Chicago which was founded in 1889 and was operated by Dr. Chambers until 1904 when it was sold; making this a very old turn of the century lens kit with the original lined box. The kit contains 197 test lenses; the concave are gold-toned and the convex are silver-toned. There are also 10 prism lenses included in graduated sizes as pictured. There are a few colored or hued lenses as well as several that have only small slits or holes. Also included are several larger lenses with no frames and 2 magnifying objects of some type. 2 of the spare lenses come with small paper envelopes. The wooden box measures 22" x 13.5" and has working mechanical ... morelatches. The latches alone are amazing. With small push buttons that release the clasps. The box is lined with a blue felt like material that is free of tears. Each area is marked with the type of lens it contains. There is a split on the top of the box as pictured and the material that covered the outside, bottom is peeling or gone in some spots. This is a great. Early piece. It comes from one of the excellent American Optical Entrepreneurs. As a fun fact I found that D Chambers invented several valuable optical instruments one of which was the opthalometer. This is an antique cast iron FIREBACK marked W B& G CHAMBERS. MOUNT PLEASANT. That stands for the brothers WILLIAM, BENJAMIN and GEORGE CHAMBERS, who started the MOUNT PLEASANT FURNACE, MOUNT PLEASANT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, PA in 1783. The furnace ran until 1843 under various names. Condition fairly good-lettering soft, but can be read with angled light. Size: 22" x 24 3/4" Weight about 55 lbs. Shipping weight about 65 lbs. From an estate in Tustin. CA, this is an excellent example of a Gaskell& Chambers(G&S” mug. This mug has the Crowned GR stamp with the Regent Mark of 6 consistent with the Birmingham manufacture. Next to the GR6 is the number 47. I am not an expert but research suggests this represents the manufacturing date of 1947. Another distinguishing G&S characteristic is the X. No labels or price tags on shrink wrap. A Dandy style game. When Atari decided to re-enter the Game console business in the late 1980s. They made a new Dandy-like game known as Dark Chambers. It appears this was based on Gauntlet rather than Dandy. Dark Chambers was released for the Atari 2600. Atari 7800 and Atari_XE computers in 1988. This version supported only two players as the additional joystick ports had been removed from the XL/XE 8-bit machines some ... moretime earlier. Here is a description of the 7800 version. The XE version in this auction should be similar? At first glance it's easy to pass Dark Chambers off as a mere Gauntlet clone. However did you know that it's Gauntlet that's the clone? For you see. Dark Chambers is actually based off an 1983 APX(Atari Program Exchange) game by John Palevich called Dandy. Two years later Ed Logg created his arcade mega hit Gauntlet, using Dandy as inspiration. John was none too happy about this and planned to file a lawsuit, but later settled out of court(rumor has it he received a free Gauntlet machine) A few years later in 1988, Atari re-published Dandy for the 2600, 7800, and XE under the name Dark Chambers.
