It is covered on 3 sides with beautiful patterned emerald green ceramic tile. Measuring 30" long. 25" wide, and 40" tall, it has solid sturdy nickel-plated cast iron feet which have a beautiful aged patina. A metal tag on the front bears the name" F. Pesser Verviers" and the top lifts off for viewing the interior. The stove has a front compartment(possibly for wood or coal burning) and 2 bottom drawers. This Antique Tile Stove is in good condition with some minor surface wear. Which is expected considering the age of this piece. This catalog is nicely illustrated with several engravings and features the McDowell Oven which was a commercial oven for hotels and restaurants that came in four sizes ranging from 46 to 84 inches in length. Pre Griswold Era : Antique Dr Sperry Cast Iron Dutch Oven Circa 1887
Hi everyone thanks for looking! Today you are bidding on a very old cast iron piece of Americana. It is over 100 years old and is made by Dr Sperry& Co. It is a Dutch oven I believe but doesn't have the little feet on the bottom and the base doesn't seem to have marks that I can read. It is solid and really heavy. There is a crack in the lid as seen in the photos and it seems as if another crack had been repaired along the edge as seen in the photos. I found this in an old barn in the California desert that belonged to an old western camera man along with a tons of other old cookware. Farm equipment, horse saddles, etc. It was a really great place to visit and it looks like this thing hasn't been touched I'm 50 or 60 years. A true barn find. Vintage Westinghouse electric Roaster-Oven Cat No. RL414. Made in Mansfield Ohio USA. I think it is made of all metal except for the handles and cord. Nice clear ID stamping on bottom. Rare model. Hard to find. I plugged it in and it heated up fast and holds heat well. Temperature dial goes from 150 to 500 degrees. Has an interior wire/rod grate which has a 3 level adjustable shelf. Has a full size removable metal insert tray/liner. Stainless steel lid. 21 x 14 x 12 inches overall excluding the top and side handles. Inside demensions about 17 x 11 1/2 x 7. It weighs about 25 pounds. All 4 feet pads on bottom are good. Old cord looks good. All 3 handles are good. I do not see any breaks. Damages, nor repairs. I do not see any dents. This item is very old and cosmetic appearance is nowhere near perfect. There are several/quite a few/many small ... morechips to the enamel off-white paint. And associated light rust to the chips. This item is a Fire King bowl with a lid. It is ivory in color and has three tulips painted on both sides of the bowl. The bowl measures 4 1/8" tall without the lid. With the lid it is 5 7/8" tall to the top of the knob. The bowl measures 5 5/8" in diameter on the top and measures 2 5/8" in diameter on the bottom. The bottom of this bowl reads" Fire King Oven Ware" with the wor ds"Fire King" sandwiched between the wor ds"Oven Ware" There is a picture to show this. However it cannot be seen ver y well on the picture. This bowl is used and in good condition. There are no cracks. Chips, scratches or marks on the bowl itself. This is a very neat little tester Made by J-B-T Instruments Inc. New Haven Conn. The instructions are with it but the leather case is very stiff with age and I may tear them trying to get them out.
