Although the leather part is old and broken this is still a wonderful example of primitive folk art ca. 1750's- 1820's. Very Old Primitive Fireplace Bellows Antique Vintage Wood Leather Marked 26"long
Antique handmade fireplace bellows very old and primitive. It is unusually very long(26" and 6" wide. It is in great condition and still working fine! One side of the wooden body is marked with round stamp in black paint" Trade Mark ACME Registered" see photos) The other side has small old paper with text(see photos) Wooden body has original red paint. Unusually long wooden handles(13" long) are attached to the body with two old screws on each side. The leather bag for air is intact. It is attached to the wooden body with original vintage nails and amazingly it is not torn despite the age. The leather strips that covers the seams where the leather is attached to the wood is partially disintegrated but it doesn't interfere with function because it has cosmetic purpose only. The leather is in good condition and pliable. The wood is also in fine condition with good color and grain. It works well and is sturdy, ready to get your fires going! Antique Rosewood Portable Melodeon Pump Organ Case in Great Condition Bellows Works Here is a great old portable pump organ for your buying consideration. I recently acquired it at a local auction. The organ has a nice rosewood case on it that the finish is still mostly intact on. I see no cracks or splits in the case. All the keys seem to still be hooked up. The bellows does generate enough air to produce sounds when the keys are depressed. I did not attempt to hook the rods up to the floor pedals. Amazingly. The music holder is still on this organ. The one side was repaired at one time where cracked and done well. The key is even with the organ to lock the door over the keyboard. Organ keys look good, no cracks, splits or missing pieces. The one thing I see to report is that the black material or paint applied to the bellows is flaking ... moreoff. Not sure if that is an issue or not. Per the tag inside the instrument. It was at one time in New England. My guess is that the organ was made sometime between the 1850s to early 1920s, but that is just my guess, you be the judge as to how old this organ is. There also was no maker mark or tag on the organ. It might be a Mason& Hamlin out of Boston, MA or a Prince& Co. from Buffalo, NY. You be the judge as to maker and when made. This is a nice piece of Americana. A bellows crafted in wood and leather with a metal tip and brass tacks. The piece is 16 inches long from handle to tip and is 5 inches across at its widest. The floral design is fading, the leather is well worn and has some damage, and there is tarnish to the tip and tacks. We're unsure of its age. That being said, this is a wonderful work of folk craftsmanship. It's a piece of history in need of a good home.

2 ANTIQUE hand made fireplace bellows. 1. An antique fireplace bellows marked on the front' SIN- EXTRA CALFSKIN' I'm guessing it was manufactured around the turn of the century. It measures approximately 27" in overall length and it's 8" wide across the widest point near the center of the bellows, The leather is very dry and has deteriorated to the point that it will need to be replaced if you plan to use it as originally intended. The leather hanger fell off when I repositioned it for photos but it can probably be reattached if you'd like it for display. In its current condition this bellows is NOT for use but for display purposes only. 2. An antique fireplace bellows of wood. Brown leather and brass look tacks. The nozzle is a carved wood dog's head with tacks for eyes, an opening in the nozzle looks as ... moreif the dogs mouth is open. One side of the bellows features an etched Alpaca carrying a large pack on its back. On the opposite side is a carved wood man's head with long hair and a hat- he looks Colonial. The wood carving is separate from the body of the bellows. I see no nails or pegs and it's beginning to come loose. The bellows is unusually thick measuring approximately 3 1/4" when closed. It measures approximately 17 1/4" in length X 8 1/4" wide at the widest part near the center. The wood has lots of nicks and scratches and there are a few tacks missing but overall this bellows appears to be in nice condition. It still works but the air flow is weak, it must be leaking somewhere but I could find no holes in the leather.

RARE ANTIQUE MAHOGANY HOSPITAL OR SURGEONS FLUOROSCOPE - BELLOWS XRAY VIEWER
Please see the pictures below the description You are bidding on an antique fluoroscope or X-ray viewer. As far as I can ascertain. This is a very early item in the field of X-rays, later ones having various forms of lead shielding. Little was understood in those days about the effects of X-rays or Röntgen rays- with the X-ray beam on, the physician would position themselves on the opposite side of the patient and view the image produced on the fluorescent screen of the fluoroscope. This resulted in the physician receiving a large dose of X-rays each time it was used. The image was viewed on the removeable screen that is located in a compartment in the end of the viewer, and is basically a wooden frame with a black card covering one side. On the inside of this card was a film of some sort, which I believe was coated with a layer of calcium ... moreor cadmium tungstate, this acting as a fluorescent screen. It is generally in very good condition for its age- all the mahogany is good with only a few marks, and the screen top opening flap is good, with good hinge and catch. The fabric bellows have a couple of very small holes on the corners and a small split on one of the folds. The bellows are dirty from storage- I have not attempted to clean them at all, but they should come up very nicely. One of the hinges on the side arms has a small brass woodscrew missing. All the brass fittings are good and original to the item. The removeable screen has a good frame, but the black card is damaged, and the fluorescent screen has only the edges remaining- it has become very brittle over the years. For display purposes, replacing the black card and making a replacement screen to look the part should be quite a simple task. A very interesting piece of medical and scientific history- I have managed to find a couple of pictures of later ones, which really came into being during World War I, but cannot find one like this made of wood. Antique painted fireplace bellows-great Horn of Plenty painted design! I don't really know how old it is but would guess its age as dating from the early 1800's to the mid 1800's. you can get some idea as to how old it is by looking at the grooves woern in back from swinging where it was hung by a fireplace. Its overall lenght is about 22 1/2 inches-the widest part is about 8 inches. The leather is basically gone although all the riverts holding it in place are still there-the wood parts are in pretty good condition although there is a crack on the back side from near the handle to the center air intake hole. the metal blower end has surface rust but is still in pretty good shape. Early Fire place Bellows These old fireplace bellows are really attractive. But must now be only an early country decorative item. Because the heavy leather bellows has hardened despite my attempts to make it flexible with leather dressing. Etc. They move only a little bit and produce only a light puff of air. Partly because they also have a hole in the leather, as shown. Nevertheless, the y have a rich patina and I've had them hanging on the wall with some other items and they're very decorative. One side has the 6"petal" carved design. And there's a hole with the leather flap on the other side for drawing in the air when they're expanded. Antique Home Music Box Roller Organ with 15 cobs, for restoration, bellows shot
Up for bid is an Antique Home Music Box Roller Organ with 15 cobs. For restoration. this is a very cool old intrument in need of some TLC. It is dated on the reed block june 27 1913. The leather on the bellows needs replacing and some regluing is needed on the cabinet. the mechanical parts work smoothly and with a cob installed the valves open and close freely, they will need new felt also. I had intended to restore this myself, mainly so I could hear what songsare on the cobs, but I have decided to leave that up to the buyer. I restored a pump organ and still have it, sometimes I think people that ebay would rather do it themselves. There are 15 cobs included. the box measures14 1/2 inches wide and 11 3/4 deep. The wood is dark stained and has a beautiful patina. It measures a whopping 27 3/4 inches long by 8 1/4 inches wide. There are only a few minor chips(barely noticeable) but no splits to the wood. The only issue is the leather which is cracked and split. And some corrosion to the metal tip, still in exceptional shape for its age! Made from solid oak and brass and dating from the early 1900's i would think. Doesn't really matter. A great looking item that i have tried out with great results. Inside is a paddled wheel driven by the hand turned belt. This produces a even flow of air into the fire. Helping it to ignite quicker, unlike conventional bellows whic h produce spurts of air. Interesting and unusual Victorian box- it has a kind of bellows at the bottom so that it can be expanded to take more items. Both the lid and the base are slightly domed. I think it is probably a jewellery box but I have been told it might have been used to carry a prayer book. The sliding catch is something I haven't seen before- it works just as it should. The inside is lined in blue silk Nice bronze fittings either side of the frayed leather strap that make sup the handle. Handle aside in very good condition. ANTIQUE BLACK FOREST CARVED WOOD FIRE BELLOWS - BRASS TIP
These are beautifully carved antique Black Forest wood fire bellows. The carvings are of Roses and Leaves. There are some nicks on the ends of a couple of leaves. Which you can't really notice unless you look for them and there is a bit of broken stem- please see picture. There is also some damage to the hinged side rim with a slither of wood missing. The two paddles are held together with leather and the tip is solid brass. There are no splits in the main part of the leather, but the leather has come away from the hinge and there is also a brass rivet missing by the hinge. Measurements: 73cm from the end of the handle to the tip of the nozzle and 21cm at the widest point. The brass nozzle is 9cm long. BEAUTIFULLY HAND CARVED ANTIQUE BELLOWS
THIS IS ONE OF THE NICEST BELLOWS YOU'LL EVER FINE. ALL HAND CARVED. Hand carved out of a hard wood. One side has the scallop shell and the other has a very ornate carving. It measures 19 11/2 inches long, 8 1/2 inches wide(wood side) and 8 1/2 inches wide with the bellows open. The leather has, at one time in it's life had the leather replaced, as the leather covers the bottom of the design on the ornate side. I have opened the leather so you can see it is still in good condition and the bellows WORKS! The carved ending is a puzzle to me and my husband. It has the traditional cuts just below the leather to indicate it is a bird, possibly a parrot. However, parrots do not have noses. It also looks like a dog or animal. ANTIQUE ORIGINAL PAINT WOODEN BELLOWS PA. YELLOW
Offered for auction is an original paint fireplace bellows that I believe to be of Pennsylvania origin. This early bellows is well shown in my pictures. I try to show the weak spots and the wonderful paint. It is approximately 16 1/2" long and about 6 3/4" across at its widest part. This bellows is in good paint and will look even nicer with a good waxing. The bellows was picked from an estate here in Maine. But the people were from Pa. originally. Antique English Mechanical Fireplace Bellows Fine Original Condition Works Well
Well here is a very interesting item that probably not many of you even knew existed; I know I didn't until I found them 18 years ago and displayed them on my own fireplace. Up for auction is this unique and very well built mechanical English Fire Place Bellows. It is artistically designed and sturdily built of solid mahogany and solid cast brass components. The large handled flywheel operates by pulley the bladed fan withing the brass housing. I have disassembled everything and freshly lubricated all parts. It works really well. There is a brass hanger at the top end which is mounted by 4 countersunk flat head screws. It looks great hanging on the fireplace mantle or any other way you would like. It maintains its original patina which is how it should be. It definitely is a most charming and interesting well built item of typical English ... morecraftsmanship. A real conversation piece as well. I have enjoyed owning it for so many years and now I have reached the age of having to part with so many treasures. VINTAGE ANTIQUE FIREPLACE WOOD LEATHER DESIGN BELLOWS This auction is for vintage set of Bellows. I am not familiar with these. But will describe to the best of my ability. Measure approximately 19 1/4 inches long and approximately 7 1/2 inches wide at the widest point. They are made out of wood, the front and back of the bellows has leather on it. The front side has leather that has a design on it. It shows ships, bridges, compass' castles, etc. There are words also, but not from the english language. The bellows do work. This is a fairly primitive set.I would date to the early 1900's, possibly earlier, but I can't be sure. These are sold as is.there are some small tears or scratches to the leather and the handle end of the bellows appears to originally have had a leather cord on it but part of it is missing. No breaks to the ... moresides of the bellows that I can see. Also the tip on the bellows appears to be missing some leather also.but not sure how much should be there. In the pictures you can see what appears to be a white spatter of something, but will come off with a good leather cleaning. Please ask questions! Bid now! Sold as is!
