Vintage Antique LOVELL Metal Hand Clothes Washer Wringer ~ Works! ~ NICE!
You are bidding on a vintage"Lovell" hand crank clothes wringer which is working condition. It is painted white metal with some chipping and surface scratches. This has intact rollers with adjustable tension control and metal clamps for tub. The clamps swivel adjusting from about 12 to 16 inches. The body(not including handles) measures approximately 12 1/4" x 6" rollers measure approximately 11 inches in length. As can be viewed in the third photo. The top roller has a crack which measures about 1 1/4" The rollers have"Lovell Mfg Co. printed on them. Both red knobs are made of red plastic. Good luck!

This is an unusual model for the horseshoe wringer manufactured by the original American Wringer Co. It comes straight from an antique auction. I believe this dates from sometime between 1898-1912. It's a beautiful piece of handcrafted art from the titanic era. covered in engraved and painted descriptive instructions and advertising. It's a relatiavely small portable size measures approx 14" x 14" the handle sticks out 12" and is about 14" long. FYI: This will fit your wood or galvanized tubs! It is 16 x x12" plus the handle. Weighs almost 14 pounds. The piece is wood with iron clamps. Cogs, handle and such. The handle turns freely, so there is no reason it wouldn't work. Patent is 1899. Seems to me it is in great shape for the age. If it is possible, the handle will be taken off for shipping. Antique Wringer Beautiful old antique"Blue Grass" wringer washing machine. Wringer is made of wood wirh cast iron parts and rubber wringers. On one side of the piece is written"Blue Grass- It's All in the Rubber" Incorporated Louiseville Ky" with the name of the company above it- it is very faint- all I can read is Belk. Co. The other side of the piece reads"Blue Grass Rolls 10 x 1 3/4 Inches" The rollers are tan rubber. They are very dry and cracked. The tub mounting clamps are in tact and in working order. The tention adjusters are in working order. The crank on the side works as well. Wood is in good condition with some wear- appears to have been stained a dark color at some point. Seldon A. Bailey invented the mechanical clothes wringer in 1859 in Connecticut later moved his company to Rhode Island and before 1899 changed the name to the American Wringer wringer company. It doesn't get any better than this. You can only be the first manufacturer of something once and everyone else copies you, get this early 1900's wringer from the inventors company. This is made of metal. Wood and has rubber rollers. As you can see a lot of the writing has faded which happens after 100 years or more. To which I can honestly proclaim that I am glad I never had to use.this old clothes wringer is made by ANCHOR BRAND, the Best on Earth and is dated from 1890's.it was even given the Good Housekeeping seal of approval; VERY heavy; has 2 clasps that would enable it to be secured to Iron, Wooden or Fibre Tubs.there is an extra long bent handle that moves the wheels around, that would enable your clothes to go through the two rollers easily.this piece measures approximately 15 x 13 1/2.has a wood handle on the end and that bar measures 11 inches long.this could even be a nice wall hanging given the fact that there are 2 decorative pieces on the top that would allow you to do that.pretty neat! Great vintage antique hand crank clothes wringer marked" 352- UNIVERSAL- HORSE SHOE BRAND- AMERICAN WRINGER CO. WOONSOCKET. R. I. The very clean rollers are 12" by 1 3/4" The crank turns freely as well as the tension screws for the rollers. The wood crank handle is not cracked or broken. Likewise, the securing clamps are not broken. There are not any broken or repaired parts. The overall size is 16" tall by 27" wide including the crank handle by 6" and the weight is 17 pounds. I believe this is from the early 1900's. Excellent operating condition but the wood finish is faded and worn from use. Item is described and shown as best I can. Antique wash tub wringer works. the rollers are rubber covered and they turn but the rubber is brittle and age cracked. I added lots of photos so everyone can see the nice old advertising logo and claims. It says the clamps with work on either a metal or wooden wash tub. There is no damage to any of it but the old rubber roller covers. It has a pat. date stamped on the bottom June 10th 1898. Shown in one of the photos. It needs a good detailed cleaning and waxing. It's dated June 20. 1899. Some wear on the words on one side, prorbably from getting wet when used back in the day. Here is a antique clothes washing machine. Great as a large/centerpiece for vintage decoration. Very rare item. The tub is a very pretty green enamel/porcelain 23 inch diameter and 14 inches deep. Tub is lightly marked in the outside"Prima" see photo#12) Tub has one scrape of the enamel on the outside. Inside of tub is stained or else dirty. Overall machine is about 48 inches tall and 27 inches wide. The wringer rotates 360 degrees and has several lock and hold positions. The legs are good and sound. The rollers/castors on bottom of legs are froze up. I did not test it for operation. There is no electric motor on it which would mount near the floor. There is still an old belt on the drive pulley but this belt is worn out. It has aging and wear. See photos for condition. Local Pickup only. No shipping. Antique Horseshoe Brand Hand Cranked Clothes Wringer Patent June 10 1898
Up for auction is a really unique piece of history. This item is an antique clothes wringer. It is the Horseshoe Brand. The patent on the piece shows June 10. 1898. Talk about being old. It is hand cranked. When you use the handle and crank it, the rollers roll smoothly, just as they are supposed to do. This is a smaller size than normal for a clothes wringer. Just measuring the wooden part and not the clamps, etc. it measures `4" high and 12 1/4" wide. The handle sticks out 13" from the actual item. Both sides of the wringer are covered in discriptive instructions and advertising. On one side of the wringer, some of the things that are written: Extra High Grade Warranted, The AW Co company logo on the right side of the frame. The AW Co is the American Wringer Company. It is surrounded by the Horseshoe logo. In the center it ... moresays Novelty Rolls 10x1 3/4" That is in the center on the black portion. On the very top of the wooden frame, it says 300 on one side and 10x1 3/4" on the other. If the flat part is raised it says This wringer has warranted rubber rolls vulcanized to the shafts. Put a little oil or lard on the bearings before using and loosen top screws when the wringer is not in use. Beneath that it says Horseshoe combination tub clamps will hold wringer securely to galvanized, iron, fibre, or wood tubs. The opposite side of the piece says The American Wringer Co. New York, USA. The dark spot in the center says"It's All In The Rubber. This wringer tells you everything you ever wanted to know about antique clothes wringers. This is a nice 23.5" x 12.5" antique wooden wasboard with glass ribs. There is something inscribed near the top. But I cannot make out what it says. The piece was painted orange long ago.The washboard has very noticeable wear from handling and use. Some of the wood is beginning to crack; there is a long, deep crack on one of the legs. While the piece is structurally sound, the deep crack should be repaired so that it doesn't break in the future. The piece also has discoloration, marks, etc. Whoever did the painting did a terrible job and also painted the sides of the glass ribs. They didn't paint the very top of the wood, though. This wringer was manufactured between 1918-1920. I don't know a lot about these items. But the few things I've noticed are: 1) It seems larger than most. And has a 10 5/8" open space in the rollers. The complete measurements are- 17" wide x 17 1/2" tall x 7" deep. Including the handle it is 28" wide. 2) This version has ball bearing instead of gears. As most wringers that I have seen do. 3) This unit has a different clamping system that others. Rather than swinging metal clamps. The clamping is done with a front board with clamping screws through it. The graphics are not perfect. With some chipping and fading, as the pictures reflect. However, much of it ... moreis still readible. I suggest getting some clear varnish over it as soon as possible to save it. The writing includes- FRONT- N o. 361E. I used this wonderful antique on a covered porch finding containers to fit in the squares on the fold outs(most large hanging pots were ideal) and displayed colorful flowers all summer. At Christmas time, I used Christmas decorations and flowers. The wringers still work and it's in very good shape. Ideally local pickup would be desired but we're also willing to ship.
