Although used for many things, they were used extensively for heating sad irons. Bottom is made of cast iron with the top being tin and metal. It has an isinglass window in front for viewing, isinglass present, but broken in places. Open it up to reveal the large wick and burner. Wick included, wick raiser working good. Not including the steel handle, and 13 inches wide at it's widest near the base, this heater was repainted at one time with what looks like STOVE BLACK paint. Stove Black paint was a brand made for heaters. This does not look like spray paint. The MICA IS STILL INTACT and the NESCO DELUXE metal plate was removed before painting so that this remains ORIGINAL ~ With regards to the innerds ~ The pressure pump is missing and has been plugged with a cork. This is a nice old group of 4 cast iron wood or coal burner grates. They are 3 3/4" tall. The back is 2" wide, front is 1 1/2" wide at the top and about 1 1/4" wide at the bottom. Several of these form a circle in the burner area, they are in great shape, no chips or cracks. This looks good. Items as pictured. I have other vintage items. Antique Silver Plate Serving Dish Wood Handle Decorative Base Lid Oil Heater
This auction is for a 5 piece Antique Serving Dish that is heated by an oil burner. It is signed Webster Wilcox IS which you can barely see. It is elegantly decorated and would look great with any meal. The five piece set includes a decorative base 6 3/4" tall that holds the hot dish off the table. The oil burner tank that is 4 1/2" in diameter and 1 1/4" tall, the next is a dish and I guess it is to keep the fire off of the main dish, then the serving bowl with decorated edge 8 1/2 opening in diameter 2 1/2" deep 11 1/4" adding the rim and a wooden handle attached to it, and a lid with a nice wooden knob on top to keep the food warm. The handles have wood loss see pictures and there is a small dent in the oil tank, also in pictures but not as big as it looks. It is one Great Piece for One Great Price. This is for an original antique glass insert for a Perfection Oil Heater. I removed this from a heater that too rusty to save. The glass does not have any chips. Just the usual rough edges from the manufacturing process. There are no cracks. There is one mold mark, also from the manufacturing. The glass is bright and shiny with the need for only minor cleaning. The height is 8 3/16. The opening is 7 7/8 outside diameter.

I hung on to it hoping to build a cabin one day. There are some nice you-tube videos showing you how these work. The heater is missing the cork. And also the mica window, the wick is intact and I used it for a while to smoke away black flies. makes a good outdoor ground lamp. This Star heater has been carefully brought back to its original luster. It is fully functional and all it needs is the tubular funnel section to complete it. I would not bother though. It would look better as a large chimney lamp. Just use you imagination on fitting it with possibly a 8" straight chimney with shade, or possibly a shade ring, 14" shade and large chimney for drug store hanging lamp. What ever you do this is stunning as is and is a extremely rare piece.

This is a Tropical#015 smokeless oil heater. We purchased it on a trip to the Amish country in Lancaster Penn. The murial of a farm scene was hand painted by an Amish artist. This heater has been on display in our home as a decorative piece and although is intact to be used as a heater we never have. It is 2ft high and 21/2 ft around. It is more a piece of art and a decorative piece than a heater. It is in great condition and never been used as a heater.

The chrome/stainless steel trim has surface corrosion and can be restored to its beauty when it was new 100 years ago. The patent date is May 23. 1913. The kerosene oil tank has the fuel gauge that shows how much fuel remains in the tank. I have not tested that to see if it is functioning. There is a wick although I don’t know if it is still usable. Here is a vintage Duo Therm Oil Burning Stove. Marked on tag" Motor Wheel Corp. Lansing Mi Model 575-9" Has pat# 2313554 and others which could be useful in dating it. Great for use as a vintage decoration. Very ornate grill surround. Directly from the estate of the original owner. Was working when replaced but I did not ask how long ago that was. Whether or not it could be used or restored for use is your decision. This is a mid sized heater. It is about 34 inches tall. 17 inches wide and 21 inches deep. All 4 feet and the rear leg are present and good. Fuel tank is good and reasonably clean. There is a shallow indentation on one side(photo#6) The top has some indentations(photo#7) It has a glass fire viewing door and this door needs the latch repaired. Outer fire door is fine. This is a Pat'd Oct. 6. 1891 Antique, Copper-Plated Brass, TIP-TOP Oil Lamp Chimney Heater. It measures 11/16" across x 1" high and fits a chimney with a 1 1/2" or 1 7/8" opening at the top. Croup Vaporizers were Used Quite Readily in the Late 1800's to 1920's to Relieve the Lung Bronchials and Best Guess is that this would be It's Most Likely Use. It has a Nice Patina and has No Cracks. It is in good vintage condition with no apparent cracks or splits in the cast iron or metal ware. There is substantial surface rust and other natural patina. Consistent with 100+ year old antique cast iron and metal ware. There is a mica window on front of the unit for light. And to check the flame. The mica shows signs of age and some scuffs. Antique Perfection Smokeless Oil- Kerosene Heater Antique Perfection Smokeless Oil Heater. I rubbed off enough of the"patina" to determine this heater has 1900 and 1902 patent dates. There is also a"7 12" stamped in the top of the wick cap(see 2nd to last photo) That may indicate a production date. I think the later models came out in 1913. It still has a good Perfection wick. This kerosene heater measures approximately 24 1/2" tall, 12 1/2" side to side, and 12 1/2" front to back. This old heater appears complete except for the sight glass and would make a great restoration project if you want it to look like new. Or you could leave it as is, as shown in photos, for a rustic addition to your decor.

Vintage Perfection Kerosene Heater. From the Perfection Stove Company. Cleveland, Ohio. Is this beautiful Condition with Visible Glass Globe Room Heater It Measures about 24-1/2" tall( excluding handle) by about 13" in diameter at the base In Fabulous Working Order Ready for a new Home! Glass is in Fabulous Condition. no cracks no chips that we can see- only a straw mark( please read below for what a straw mark is) from manufacturer on the back side- it functions just fine with this for all these yrs) Wick is in Great Condition& Works& Turns as it should. This Heater was used Little& is all in Fabulous Condition- The clear glass is embossed with a flame design and the name Perfection across the top of the globe Model no. 735" marked on it Straw Mark by a Glass Manufacturer: Shear Mark- Straight mark or scar caused ... moreby the shears used to cut away the molten glass as it was being dropped into the mold. Sometimes called a“straw mark” When the hot glass is held over the mold and just enough is put into the mold. The handler cuts off the molten glass with metal shears, which are much cooler than the molten glass. If this is done just right, so it's thrown to the side of the piece, it blends in with the rest of the glass and doesn't show. When too much, too little, or the molten mix doesn't get thrown to the side, the result is the visible strawmark. Not a crack. Please ask any and all questio ns before bidding.
