RARE OLD ANTIQUE FRENCH HEAVY BRASS FIREPLACE SCREEN LOVE BIRDS FLAME WREATH
We are pleased to offer this beautiful. OLD, French brass fireplace screen. This lovely screen dates to the early half of the 20th century. It features a rare, central design with two large love birds in a tree. There is an abundance of detail on the entire piece. The frame is adorned with drapery swags on the bottom and climbing vines on each side. The top features true French styling with a large, hammered brass wreath. Beneath the wreath are two crossed flaming torches. The vining and leaf design is also repeated here. The feet are large acanthus leaves. There is a French bow above the tree in which the birds are seated and a large floral swag just below. This is a beautiful and ornate screen. It is heavy brass with some evidence of hammering. The screen retaiins the mesh which is also wire framed in the back. Flat head screws attach the ... moremesh to the frame. The screen is in very, very good, antique condition. There is some aging to the brass patina. It does appear that the screen has been used. There are no maker's marks that I can find. However, this is a very nicely constructed screen. The brass is thick and the screen is heavy. The screen measures 26.5" tall. It is 28.75" wide at the widest section. The feet extend 4" on each side(8" deep) The screen weighs 18 lbs. Antique Victorian Brass Fireplace Folding Fan Screen
Offered for auction is this lovely Victorian Brass folding fireplace screen. Dimensions are 25 1/2" tall. 37 1/2"w(open) 7 1/4" w(closed) and 5" thick. 4 thin vanes splay out from the center on each side to form the open screen. When folded, the vanes nest into the center section and are held in place by two hooks. Large brass finial on top acts as a carrying handle. Base is solid brass with scrolled feet, a center lion's paw foot and a lion's head masqueron flanked by wings. Some oxidation of the brass and little chipping of the lacquer. Total weight of the screen is 16 lbs plus packing and box for shipping. This appears to be a period piece and shows no evidence of being a reproduction. VINTAGE METAL BRASS FIREPLACE FAN GRIFFIN WINGED LION BASE FOLDING SCREEN 26x40"
This is a wonderful vintage/antique brass fireplace screen made of brass with intricate detail work. Great casting as you would expect on a piece of this age. The base is adorned with a griffin on both front and back. The screen is over 26” high and the fan spreads to about 40” and is very heavy– almost 17 pounds. The base is about 10” wide and the fans. When closed, are about 7” wide. The fan screen is used and still opens well and the pieces that lock the fan in place. When closed, are intact and also work. Please look at the pictures in detail for addition details about the item. This screen opens well. The fan blades are not bent and this needs only gentle coaxing to open to its full width. You do need to be patient when you open and close it to make sure it does not get hung up, but this is one of the best functioning fans I have seen.

Brass Fireplace Screen. Victorian, Beautiful! The brass fireplace screen is in good condition. It was manufactured around the turn of the century in England. It sits on claw feet and each screen is decorated with brass figures showing birds and griffons. There are some small spots of tarnish. But no major damage. Notice the flower in the pot on the window sill. Very well done and very detailed too. We believe it to have been made in the 1930’s and it is in very good and all original condition! It has taken on a beautiful old patina over the years but if you like them to shine then it will take just a little elbow grease. The fan sections of the screen are designed to slide one in front of the other so that the fan can be slid up and stored compactly when not being used. It is very decorative when it is open ... moreor closed. There are supposed to be(2) latches. One on each side to secure the fan in place when closed, but one of the latches is missing. I made a temporary latch from wire to put in it's place. A new latch could probably be made out of brass. The base is decorated with 2 Lions, one on each side, and the Lions have wings and look like door-knockers(please see photos) The Lions measure 8" tall. The base measures 8" x 4" The entire piece stands 24 1/2" tall to the top of the finial piece. The fan itself measures 37" wide x 19" tall when fully opened. I don't know how old this piece is but it does look like it has some age to it. It is heavy and weighs about 10 pounds. It does look like it has been used a lot and shows lots of signs of age and use such as lots of scratches, lots of scuffs, lots of stains, lots of discoloration, lots of finish wear& tarnish. The are dents& dings, mostly on top of the fan sections which look expected for it's age and intended use. Please see the photos and email me with any questions. Thank-you! ART NOUVEAU 12" ANDIRONS & 20" FIREPLACE SCREEN SMALL HEARTH SET BRASS ON IRON
Up for auction is this set of andirons and fireplace screen set made for a small hearth. They have some great Art Nouveau type detail and appear to be a brass finish on iron. The finish is worn is many spots. But they are very heavy and solid. They have some great lines and detail and a ridged urn type top on the andirons. The andirons have two decorative finial screws on the front that attach the back piece to the front via threaded ends on the cross bars. One of the finial screws is not original or brass. But appears to be made out of copper. The screen also appears to have a brass finish over metal. And is in very good condition but does have some finish wear and discoloration. The andirons measure 12" high. 7-1/4" wide and 7" deep. The tri-fold screen measures 20" high, and 27" across when extended flat. The condition is very good on this lovely fireplace screen. It is a 100% guaranteed authentic and original brass fold out fireplace fan screen. It is 26" tall and opens to 38' long. With very nice casting as would be expected form this time period. This screen has the same design on both sides This screen opens well, the fan blades are not bent and this needs only gentle coaxing to open to its full width. Like all fold out fireplace fans, you do need to be patient when you unfold it and make sure it does not get caught when opening but this is one of the best functioning fans I have seen.

Antique vintage metal brass art deco fireplace screen peacock decorative
This auction is for an old art deco fireplace screen. It measures 38 inches wide when open. 28 inches tall. 7 inches deep. Some of the inner working have been replaced and modified but does not really show. They added some washers to help it open and close. A couple of the blades are not perfectly straight which makes it a little tough to open and close quickly but will do so as can be scene in the photos. It makes a great decor or can be functional as well, just might not completely cover the fireplace opening so be careful if using. Thanks for looking.

Antique brass fan-out fireplace summer screen cover. Ornate front& back depicting a profile of a Victorian Lady surrounded by an elaborate rope and bow design. Top carrier accented with exotic birds. Base is a beautiful scroll design and the fan-out is pierced for added detail. When closed the fan is secured with latches on each side. Stands 27-inches tall, Fan-out measures approximately 34-inches wide. This is an old piece; one fan-out locking clasp needs reinforced(minor fix) has some residue of cleaning solution in a few places(minor) need dusted and has heavy patina. This is a wonderful vintage fireplace screen made of solid brass with intricate scroll work and details on both front/back and gorgeous cameo in the center. Approx 24” high. 38” across when fan is open. The base measures 10.5” x 7” This is a very beautiful. Old piece, dating back to the early 60’s, very heavy(14lb) The screen was used. One side of the base is darker than the other, probably from being exposed to the heat. Some wear consistent with age, please see photos for more accurate information. We are pleased to offer this exquisite. Antique, French Rococo fireplace screen. This beautiful screen dates from the 1940s and features beautiful detailing. It is HEAVY and made of gilded brass. The screen features Louis XVI styling with a center medallion of love birds seated upon tree branches. The top of the arched screen features crossed torches and wreath. The screen has trailing acanthus leaves and vines with a drapery swag across the bottom. The frame is raised upon elongated feet of scrolled acanthus leaves that resemble claw feet. This is a lovely antique screen with timeless design. It is in very good antique condition with some aging to the patina in a few areas. Vintage Hammered Brass 4 Fold Fireplace Screen - 52" W X 30" H
This fireplace screen came to me in 1979. I was told- at that point in time- that it was an antique. I do not have specific information about the origin of the screen. It was most likely made in New England.long before 1979. The screen is hammered brass frame with heavy black screening. We used the screen as a fireplace screen from 1981 to 1991. Since then it's been in storage. The screening is intact. As is the frame. There is one obvious ding in the top of the frame and one in the front of the frame. I'm not sure if that was from wear.or too vigorous hammering. There are 4 segments(13" wide X 30" high-each) that are linked together by pins that pivot in any direction. The screen can be straight.
