Or if an individual put these letters on the bell. The style is spectacular! It look s excellent on its' own because of gorgeous style and character that it would bring to any room! The bell is 8 1/4 in diameter. And 6 1/4 in high. The handle is 4 1/2 in high. the tone of this bell is very loud and sweet! We do not know the exact age or history of piece but it appears to be vintage. And when we got it originally it had a tag saying it was from a ship and it was brass. We tested by putting a magnet and did not stick. This lighting fixture is in great condition with minimal ware. there are paint spots that you can see in close ups of pictures. This should all shine up beautifully to make it in close to perfect condition. we did not want to attempt to do this on our own without having the right materials. It would look nice on an old boat again, or as patio yard art. It has a 2 foot chain attached to the clanger. It has a time-aged tarnished finish from exposure to the salt sea air& weather. Not sure of it's age, or what metal or alloy it's made from, but a magnet doesn't stick to anything except the chain. It might've been chrome over brass/bronze, but that's only a guess. The bells were given a place of prominence in the former Captains house. These Captains passed on. The bells were stored in closets. Garages, and barns for the last hundred years. This bell is well made and very heavy for its size. It is 16 pounds. I was told that this is from a Russian patrol craft. The characters"CK-154" are deeply engraved on the bell. Complete with the clapper. I am not sure if this is brass or bronze. If I were to guess I would say it is bronze. Postage will be a bit high due to the weight. I will only ship to the US.

This is a really nice antique heavy bronze or brass bell with a heavy bronze or copper clapper. It looks like it was hand hammered. I am not sure if it was a old railroad locomotive steam engine bell or a maritime nautical bell. I do not find any marks. It is very heavy 7 pounds and measures 8" tall x 7.25" across at the bottom. It is very loud and sound as would have been the case with a train. Ship or maybe school bell. This bell came off the Tanker"Sentis" One of five 100,000 tons tankers built in Singapore for Shell oil and on which I was Master for 7 years. The bell was supposed to be mounted outside the Navigation Bridge to mark the change of watches. But was never used. It is 8" diameter at the base and the body is 5" tall. Weights 7 pounds including the clapper. It has no monkey braid attached to the clapper.
