This auction is for an antique brass ship's bell in excellent condition. This bell is about 5" tall and 8" in diameter with an 8" lanyard with a turk's head. It weighs 2 lbs 7 oz. The bell is in excellent condition with no cracks. Chips, or repairs. It has a beautiful patina and sounds great. This bell is not marked but I acquired it along with a small collection of U.S. Navy items and the owner told me it belonged to his grandfather and came off a World War One ship. Handsome Antique Vtg Heavy Brass or Bronze Bell ~ Ship Train School ?
I was told this is an antique ship's bell. But it has no name on it, so please use your own expert judgment. I can tell you that it is beautiful, it has a nice look to it, it certainly looks like an antique casting, and it is substantial& heavy. It is 8" dia. at the bottom, and approx. 8.25" tall. I think the mounting piece was added later, but it too is nice& heavy-duty, and looks good with it(even though it is chrome on iron) The wood piece was how it was mounted to the wall in the estate I bought it from. The whole thing weighs about 11 1/2 lbs. so the bell alone is probably around 10 lbs. No clapper inside, you'll have to add something. Antique Brass Bell American Eagle Stars Americana
Antique Brass Bell 3 1/2" h x 3 11/16" dia. This great old bell has 3 American Eagles with Shields. And stars between each Eagle. There is a small chip and scrape on the bottom rim. It has a heavy iron clapper that has been worn smooth around it's circumference with a corresponding smooth spot around the circumference of the bell which give testimony to it's age. The bell has a loud clear ring. A great piece for an Americana or Eagle collector and they are very hard to find.

*Rare* Antique Large Wooden Brass Bronze Nautical Maritime Shipyard BELL MOLD
Super Rare* Large Antique/ Vintage Wooden Brass Bronze Nautical Maritime Shipyard Bell Mold I can't find any others like this that have been sold! Fresh from an estate sale of a Naval Officer. I believe this to be a mold for a brass or bronze bell. Probably some how from the Navy shipyard. It is made of small blocks of wood, glued together then carved out into its present shape. The wood is painted black and appears to be oak. There is a"75# painted on top with white paint. No other marking that I can find. It stands approximately 13" tall and the bottom diameter is 14 1/4" The last pics show some bells with similar shapes that might have been made with similar molds.

WWII Antique Brass Ship's Bell Used on First Launch Boats in WWII
You Are Buying an WWII ANTIQUE SOLID BRASS NAVAL SHIPS BELL(unmarked) mounted on a Custom Carved Wooden Shield. My 89 Year-Old God Father was in the Navy during WWII& used it on the 1st Launch Crafts used by the Navy in WWII on the Coast of New Guinea. The Bell still rings beautifully Loud& Clear& was used in Darkness&or Fog to alert Marine Soldiers he picked up or dropped into the water moving East to West along the New Guinea Coast. He took the bell as a momento& his uncle hand-carved the wood shield it was mounted on shortly after he returned from the war. i've asked him& looked. But can't find any marks, stamps or anything that identifies who or where it was made and he doesn't know.

Based on the design and casting quality this bell was likely made during the late 1800's. Most bells of this type were used on sea going vessels. But it is possible that it could have been used for some other purpose. The cast brass hole(used for hanging) shows a lot of wear, which indicates the bell had been swinging for an extended period. Also, the steel clapper hanging mount must have worn through and has been replaced. Included are the original 9"cast iron clapper and a large sailor’s braided hemp pull lanyard. AN AMAZING ANTIQUE SHIP'S BELL- BEAUTIFULLY WORN BY TIME AND THE SALTY SEA AIR This is a gorgeous ship's bell that has been sitting silently in the depths of my friend's garage. He's had enough of letting such a fine and unique item gather dust when there is a collector out there who will appreciate such a find. I do know that the S.S. Hamburg was a German ship that included both a military and non-military history from its first voyage in 1926 until it was scrapped in 1977. The S.S. Hamburg was. At one point, used during WWII by the Nazis. This bell was given to my friend by an older lady in payment for a kindness he did her some years ago. She told him she estimated it was used in the 40's(the S.S. Hamburg went through several bells. I have NO way to authenticate that statement. Heavy Antique Large Cast Brass BELL nice sound MUST SEE 8 inches & old chain
This item is an old. Heavy bell with a great loud sound. It is not a tinkle or something you'd get from many modern bells or a bell which is thin- it's the large sound that actually seems to me more like a very large bell. This one is approximately 8 inches in diameter at the base and about 8 inches also in height if sitting on a table. I cannot tell how thick the bell is but am estimating a quarter inch or so of solid metal, perhaps somewhat more. I am guessing the material is brass but again don't really know and am not making any representations here. It is obviously a heavy solid metal but I just don't know enough to say. I am also guessing it was a maritime bell of some sort but, again, that is just a guess. The bell is weathered and looks old but I have no information on how old it is beyond the fact that I have owned ... moreit for about 30 years and our understanding was that it was old when we bought it. My pictures show an area of the bell where I have used metal polish to remove weather corrosion in order to give a sense of what the bell could look like and perhaps a better guess as to material. The picture also shows where there is a bit of paint at the edge of the bell- I think it's the only such place and could easily be removed but am leaving the finish as is except for the one area so a buyer can do what seems most desirable for the buyer's purpose. I think the bell must be cast metal and there is a pattern around the base, which I hope my pictures show at least to some degree. The inside of the bell has areas that are somewhat green and the outside perhaps a little as well, which is part of why I think the material is brass.

Antique Ships Bell. US on the front of the bell. The bell appears to be brass and has all the original patina. The base of the bell is 10" across, this weighs 22 pounds. I took the knocker off, the nut that was holding it was rusted so you will need to get a nut to attach it. IS IN GREAT SHAPE AND IS ABOUT 3.5" ACROSS THE BOTTOM AND 3.5" TALL, HAS THE ORIGINAL RINGER AND SHOWS WEAR AROUND THE INSIDE RIM FROM RINGING! ALMOST 140 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE TWO OF THESE, IDENTICAL BUT ONE HAS BEEN USED VERY MUCH AND THIS IS IN MUCH BETTER CONDITION. VERY RARE AND HARD TO FIND.
