Hello. You are viewing my auction for an Antique Cast Iron Bell. I am unsure where this bell came from. Could it be a Large School Or Fire Department Bell? Is it a Nautical Cast Iron Bell? I am just unsure. There are no marks on the bell as to show who made it. This item was purchased from the estate sale of a gentleman who collected Antique English furniture and dishware. This is a very heavy bell that weighs 39 pounds. The bell by itself measures 15" Across at the bottom by 10" tall. With the top support bracket it measures 13 and 1/2" tall by 19" long by 15" wide. This is a Loud, Heavy, and Lovely bell. The bell is in good condition with no breaks. There is some rusting on the underside. There is NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING ON THIS ITEM. 2 Antique Cast Iron Railroad Bells by Cincinnati Steel Co.
This listing is for 2 antique cast iron bells made by Cincinnati Steel Co. the maker mark can be seen in photo 2. These are very heavy& old Railroad Bells. From Delaware County in Muncie, Indiana. Our warehouse is located between 4 sets of railroad tracks. The town of Muncie, was well known in the early 1900's as a heavy Railroad town. It actually has been reported back in the gangster days that Dillinger had wanted to rob some banks in Muncie, but decided against it due to all the railroad tracks; thus Dillinger ended up robbing a small bank in Daleville, Indiana which is a small town outside of Muncie. This bank Dillinger robbed still had bullet holes in the building walls. These bells are very heavy and will require pick-up only. Once payment is processed and cleared. VTG Antique BELL CREST cast iron metal Maritime Nautical SHIPS School 18th cent.
This is a very old antique bell with a raised pattern that looks like it may have been a crest. It is either a nautical/ maritime ship or school or farm bell. I am not sure if the metal is cast iron or possibly bronze or brass- it is too old to tell probably dating to 18th-19th century. It has a crack on the lower half below the crest(similar to the Liberty Bell) but is still very sturdy and adds to the charm. It is missing the clanger or clapper which I believe can be easily obtained. It measures 4" high. It is as-is and is really very charming. Thank you for looking. Made by the Pump and Engine MF Co. of Seneca NY. It is cast iron and very heavy about 50 lbs. or so. It is about 11 inches wide at its crown and about 15 3/4 inches at its base. It has a 2 cast on its side, No sure if this came from a fire house and used to call firefighters in for a call, or at a school to call in the students or on a farm to call in the men from the fields for their meal or on a large ship for use to signal or in a fog? It comes with its yolk and an extension to hook a rope that would be pulled to ring the bell. It is very LOUD and has its original dong. Buyer will arrange for its pickup. LARGE 1900's Antique Cast iron & Brass Bell Ship Nautical farm school VERY LOUD!
Feel free to make me an OFFER This bell is BIG AND LOUD. The bell seems to be musically tuned. It's loud sound is super loud but at the same time it's a real nice tuned sound that keeps going. The bottom rim of the bell is 6" from one side to the other side across. This was at my grandfathers house since the 1920's and he always told everyone one it came off a Navy ship in the early 1900's. It's super clean and ready for a new home. All that's missing is the string to pull but that can be replaced very easily. In fact I have leather rope that I will send with the bell. Please see all pics. Up for auction is a very old cast iron mission. School, or church bell. The bell is 12" high and 15" wide. It sits in a cradle. The cradle has a weld on it. There is raised lettering but I just cant make out the words. There is a number 2 on it. WAYNESBORO. VA. on one side and No. 2 YOKE 1886 on the other side. It is in good condition. It is missing the clapper and needs to be cleaned. The outside is faded.
