This ... moreis truly a unique one of a kind piece! I was told it was a maritime bell. The initials U.S.A. are inscribed on this beautiful bell-I don't know if this is the company. Or if an individual put these letters on the bell. The style is spectacular! It look s excellent on its' own because of gorgeous style and character that it would bring to any room! The bell is 8 1/4 in diameter. And 6 1/4 in high. The handle is 4 1/2 in high. the tone of this bell is very loud and sweet! We do not know the exact age or history of piece but it appears to be vintage. And when we got it originally it had a tag saying it was from a ship and it was brass. We tested by putting a magnet and did not stick. This lighting fixture is in great condition with minimal ware. there are paint spots that you can see in close ups of pictures. This should all shine up beautifully to make it in close to perfect condition. we did not want to attempt to do this on our own without having the right materials. You are bidding on a very nice brass anchor bell with rope lanyard. It has been mounted on a beautiful piece of oak about 7/8 of an inch thick. The wood plaque measures about 5 by 8 inches. The clapper swivels when the lanyard is pulled and strikes the inside of the bell. The bell makes a nice sound when rung. The brass bell is about 4 3/4 inches high.
