The front of the bell is marked SS OAHU 1898. I could not identify the ship. The clapper is present with a knotted pull cord. The pull cord is clearly new. It has great sound! Super Rare* Large Antique/ Vintage Wooden Brass Bronze Nautical Maritime Shipyard Bell Mold I can't find any others like this that have been sold! Fresh from an estate sale of a Naval Officer. I believe this to be a mold for a brass or bronze bell. Probably some how from the Navy shipyard. It is made of small blocks of wood, glued together then carved out into its present shape. The wood is painted black and appears to be oak. There is a"75# painted on top with white paint. No other marking that I can find. It stands approximately 13" tall and the bottom diameter is 14 1/4" The last pics show some bells with similar shapes that might have been made with similar molds.

AN AMAZING ANTIQUE SHIP'S BELL- BEAUTIFULLY WORN BY TIME AND THE SALTY SEA AIR This is a gorgeous ship's bell that has been sitting silently in the depths of my friend's garage. He's had enough of letting such a fine and unique item gather dust when there is a collector out there who will appreciate such a find. I do know that the S.S. Hamburg was a German ship that included both a military and non-military history from its first voyage in 1926 until it was scrapped in 1977. The S.S. Hamburg was. At one point, used during WWII by the Nazis. This bell was given to my friend by an older lady in payment for a kindness he did her some years ago. She told him she estimated it was used in the 40's(the S.S. Hamburg went through several bells. I have NO way to authenticate that statement. Nor can I offer evidence that this bell ... morewas really on the S.S. Hamburg. Here is a vintage maritime ship's bell. I think it is brass but looks as though it may have been painted years ago. Anchor measures 10 inches long and 7 1/2 inches wide. Bell is 6 inches long and 5 1/2 in wide. Ringer is 3 1/2 inches long. Age is unknown but it has been in my shed out back for many years. I am not sure where it came from. vintage nautical maritime ship boat dinner bell wall mount estate find Japan
Offered for your consideration is this wall mount boat bell. It says Japan on it. It is so old and corroded that I am uncertain of the metal. A magnet will stick to it. So it has to be made of a metal that is magnetic. the bell is approximately 4 3/8" in diameter and 3 3/4" tall if you include the bolt on top. I found this at an estate sale today. Basically, what you see is what you get. The wheel mount is bent. You should be able to straighten it with a hammer. I will leave clean up to the buyer.
