Vintage Antique Copper/Bronze Ship's Bell - Wall Mount With Bracket - Nice Bell
I got this nice Ship's Bell from a recent estate. It is 8" diameter at the bottom and approximately 5" overall height. All pieces including clapper and bracket are non-magnetic copper/bronze. This bell is'as received and has quite a bit of patina. Along with a couple spots of light green paint. I couldn't see any markings on it, but there may be something under all the patina, I just didn't want to disturb the finish looking for something that may not be there. Up for grabs is a old brass. Or bronze, Tugboat Ship Air Horn. I found it digging in a guys basement at an estate sale. Their basement was full of other old boating and shipping pieces. Living in the Seattle Puget Sound area you tend to come across this kind of stuff time and time again. These were typically used on Tugboats or other smaller commercial type of vessels that made numerous trips through Puget Sound and the Ocean. The previous owner was knowledgeable and told me that it should still work fine, and that it is very loud. Please note that I have not actually tested it though. This bell is a very nice bell the lady I got it from told me her father had worked on the tugboat that it came off of. She said it came from the St Lois area. I can not verify this. But have found that there was a tugboat ship named Helena that was built in 1938. Anyway this is a very large bell solid brass has a beautiful ring to it. I was told this is an antique ship's bell. But it has no name on it, so please use your own expert judgment. I can tell you that it is beautiful, it has a nice look to it, it certainly looks like an antique casting, and it is substantial& heavy. It is 8" dia. at the bottom, and approx. 8.25" tall. I think the mounting piece was added later, but it too is nice& heavy-duty, and looks good with it(even though it is chrome on iron) The wood piece was how it was mounted to the wall in the estate I bought it from. The whole thing weighs about 11 1/2 lbs. so the bell alone is probably around 10 lbs. No clapper inside, you'll have to add something. This bell is well made and very heavy for its size. It is 16 pounds. I was told that this is from a Russian patrol craft. The characters"CK-154" are deeply engraved on the bell. BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED 1800s SHIP YACHT SAILBOAT BRONZE/BRASS BELL
You have a lot of pride in your craft and it certainly deserves the best. Although relatively small in size. This bell has that elegant look that makes it a focal point onboard or off, and also delivers a deep rich tone that carries well. I worked in machine shops most of my life and usually near the shipyards. This bell is dated back to before the 1920s and more than likely the late 1800s. All of the original pieces are cast from bronze, striker, hanger, pivot rod and arm. It has the elongated cast acorn nut and the 12 thread per inch hardware of the day. It was originally swedged to a ship. I fabricated the mounting plate, and the pieces below the arm seen attached with a small brass pin. I didn`t want to hang a cheap chain and the linkage gives more control when sounding the bell. Bell is 5.5 wide at mouth, 6 inches high and 7 inches deep ... morebut weighs 6 lbs. Small mount and size makes it easy to hang in any space. 3 brass mounting screws included, ready to hang. This will make a classy addition to your craft. This old Bell is a recent estate find. It is most unusual. It measures about 5 inches in height The top flat part is about an inch and a half cross; the valve opens up to a maximum of approximately four and three-quarter inches: there is some green discoloration on the belt. That is why we think it might be heavy copper. But it could be brass bronze. It appears to be a nautical bell. We do not have the mounting bracket. The only Farisour Manemet portion of the entire bell is the wire that goes from the clapper to the eye at the top. Is quite unusual and it's shape. Is being sold as is condition. Vintage U.S. Brass/Bronze Ship's Bell Dredged from Off Virginia Waters
This is an old Brass or Bronze ship's bell possibly Greenberg dredged up from the Virginia coast many years ago. The bell is marked U.S. on one side. There are no other markings known to the seller. The clapper is fine and solid. The bell rings out loudly when struck. The bell is very solid. It is believed that it was hit or struck by a shell given a solid mark on the back side. The shot has placed a hole in the center of the indent. The bell stands 8 inches tall and is 9 1/2 inches in diameter. The stem at the top measures 2 inches tall. This may be a WW 11 Greenberg bell dated 1945. It may also be earlier. The exact age is not known. This is NOT a reproduction. The bell is encrusted with sea urchins. The bell can easily be seen through the sea growth as it is not completely covered. This is a very heavy bell maybe 35 pounds or so. It ... morecomes with a display attachment fastened at the top. bronze nautical engine room gong ship bell 18 " diameter! steam heavy gauge
This is the largest engine room gong made. According to old catalogs in my collection. It is pristine, with a lovely even patina, and is marked with the manufacturer's or perhaps the ship chandler's logo, Cory. This is probably the Charles Cory company in business selling ship's stores and maritime items in the northeast US from the mid 19th century. I purchased this years ago in the northeast. The gong itself is 18 inches in diameter, about a quarter inch thick, and is made of bronze. It is a double gong with hardwood inserts in the bronze hammers. It has a very long lasting and powerful ring, very melodious. The support frame is heavy iron, the springs are tempered bronze, and the overall dimensions are 28 inches tall by 25 inches wide. Weight is around 50 lbs. These were connected to the pilot house of a steamer by cable so ... morethe pilot could send certain signals to the engineer below. Such bells were used on inland water boats as well as ocean-going steamers. I'll be glad to answer questions. A real showpiece.

Antique Large 14.5" Bronze Great Lakes Maritime Ship Bell J.F.Durston
I am very pleased to offer this great ship bell that I acquired several years ago from a fellow who's great uncle worked at the one port where the ship came in and where he had access to the ships. His nephew had a passion for the ships items and he gave this to him before the ship was sold back in the day. It is signed J F Durston which is a Great Lakes ship which was in service from 1908 to 1961 where it was towed to Germany as scrap. THe bell has nice size with a 14.5" diameter and stands 11" tall. I have taken pics showing the front. Back, and inside. There is no cracks, breaks, repairs or deformities and has a nice patina.I did do the magnet test and it did not stick and was non-magnetic! This is a really nice antique heavy bronze or brass bell with a heavy bronze or copper clapper. It looks like it was hand hammered. I am not sure if it was a old railroad locomotive steam engine bell or a maritime nautical bell. I do not find any marks. It is very heavy 7 pounds and measures 8" tall x 7.25" across at the bottom. It is very loud and sound as would have been the case with a train. Ship or maybe school bell. This bell came off the Tanker"Sentis" One of five 100,000 tons tankers built in Singapore for Shell oil and on which I was Master for 7 years. The bell was supposed to be mounted outside the Navigation Bridge to mark the change of watches. But was never used. It is 8" diameter at the base and the body is 5" tall. Weights 7 pounds including the clapper. It has no monkey braid attached to the clapper.

Bronze Bell From Ship King Neptune Nautical Maritime Vintage Bell
Solid bronze bell found at an estate in Los Angeles with other nautical items which I have listed here on ebay as well. I am not sure if the figure on the top of the bell is King Neptune but that is my best guess. Please look at my other auctions as I have an old 1937 Seth Thomas Ships Bell Clock as well as ships weather barometer from the same estate. This bell appears to be very old and I am selling it the way I found it. I have not cleaned it and will leave it to the next buyer to decide what is best. Large Antique Bronze Church Bell Ship School Tower "Shieldhill" 60 lbs. 15" NICE
This is a nice antique bronze bell with the name"Shieldhill" There are no cracks or damage. Shieldhill is in Scotland. There is a local story in Shieldhill about the old 17th century church bell that was thrown in the Clyde river because the locals didn't want it moved in 1812 to the new church. Another bell served for many years before the original 1640's bell was recovered from the river and restored to the church. This may have been the 19th century bell that was used in the interim. It has a large iron clapper. It stands 15.5" tall overall, is 15" wide at the mouth and weighs 60 lbs including the clapper. We had it mounted outside our home for the last 40 years, it has a nice tone. Buyer will arrange for local pick up/shipping. I BELIEVE THIS IS A OLD TOWN FIREHOUSE BELL BEFORE THEY USED SIRENS TO ALERT THE TOWN THERE WAS A FIRE. AND THE TRUCK WOULD BE LEAVING THE FIRE HOUSE.
