Up for grabs is a old brass. Or bronze, Tugboat Ship Air Horn. I found it digging in a guys basement at an estate sale. Their basement was full of other old boating and shipping pieces. Living in the Seattle Puget Sound area you tend to come across this kind of stuff time and time again. These were typically used on Tugboats or other smaller commercial type of vessels that made numerous trips through Puget Sound and the Ocean. The previous owner was knowledgeable and told me that it should still work fine, and that it is very loud. Please note that I have not actually tested it though. This bell is a very nice bell the lady I got it from told me her father had worked on the tugboat that it came off of. She said it came from the St Lois area. I can not verify this. But have found that there was a tugboat ship named Helena that was built in 1938. Anyway this is a very large bell solid brass has a beautiful ring to it. The base has a diameter of 18" and it stand over 20" high on the brass stand. I have not even wiped it off because the patina is so nice. email if you have questions.

Super Rare* Large Antique/ Vintage Wooden Brass Bronze Nautical Maritime Shipyard Bell Mold I can't find any others like this that have been sold! Fresh from an estate sale of a Naval Officer. I believe this to be a mold for a brass or bronze bell. Probably some how from the Navy shipyard. It is made of small blocks of wood, glued together then carved out into its present shape. The wood is painted black and appears to be oak. There is a"75# painted on top with white paint. No other marking that I can find. It stands approximately 13" tall and the bottom diameter is 14 1/4" The last pics show some bells with similar shapes that might have been made with similar molds.

The ringer is 1 5/8” in Dia. and is made of steel. Some of the plating has worn off on the inside. The top hanger measures 1 7/8” square, 5/8 thick at the bottom and tapers to 1/2” at the top. A very nice great quality ships bell made in to a lamp. Possibly school or fireman related? It is un-signed. Believed to be made by Vanduzen& Tift, very similar in design and proportions. The large cast brass eagle slides in top, looks very nice, might not be original to bell? Sits on a turned wood base and 3 small feet. The feet have some heavier losses, see picture# 7. Bell portion is bronze I believe, rest of metal appears to be brass. Bell has a nice"ring" to it when tapped. Measures approx. 18" tall with eagle. Bell is 9" diameter. Heavy, weighs 14 lbs. This old Bell is a recent estate find. It is most unusual. It measures about 5 inches in height The top flat part is about an inch and a half cross; the valve opens up to a maximum of approximately four and three-quarter inches: there is some green discoloration on the belt. That is why we think it might be heavy copper. But it could be brass bronze. It appears to be a nautical bell. We do not have the mounting bracket. The only Farisour Manemet portion of the entire bell is the wire that goes from the clapper to the eye at the top. Is quite unusual and it's shape. Is being sold as is condition. bronze nautical engine room gong ship bell 18 " diameter! steam heavy gauge
This is the largest engine room gong made. According to old catalogs in my collection. It is pristine, with a lovely even patina, and is marked with the manufacturer's or perhaps the ship chandler's logo, Cory. This is probably the Charles Cory company in business selling ship's stores and maritime items in the northeast US from the mid 19th century. I purchased this years ago in the northeast. The gong itself is 18 inches in diameter, about a quarter inch thick, and is made of bronze. It is a double gong with hardwood inserts in the bronze hammers. It has a very long lasting and powerful ring, very melodious. The support frame is heavy iron, the springs are tempered bronze, and the overall dimensions are 28 inches tall by 25 inches wide. Weight is around 50 lbs. These were connected to the pilot house of a steamer by cable so ... morethe pilot could send certain signals to the engineer below. Such bells were used on inland water boats as well as ocean-going steamers. I'll be glad to answer questions. A real showpiece.

This bell came off the Tanker"Sentis" One of five 100,000 tons tankers built in Singapore for Shell oil and on which I was Master for 7 years. The bell was supposed to be mounted outside the Navigation Bridge to mark the change of watches. But was never used. It is 8" diameter at the base and the body is 5" tall. Weights 7 pounds including the clapper. It has no monkey braid attached to the clapper.

Antique Meneely & Co Bronze Bell 1800's Nautical Memorial Church School Bell
For sale we have an amazing antique bronze bell. It is made by Meneely Bell Co. Troy N.Y. The craftsmanship on this bell is amazing. The stand is extremely detailed with a great patina. I believe the bell was either used on a ship or as some type of sailor memorial because the top of the bracket looks like breaking waves. The nut on the top of the bell looks like it was exposed to saltwater for quite some time. It is clear by the detail of the bell and the extra time spent to create the design on the stand that this bell was meant to be displayed and is something very special. If you look at photo 5 you will see some writing on the base but I cannot read what it says. The bell is in great condition with no cracks and has a great tone. The base of the bell is 17" wide. The height is about 13" The base is 29" from end to end ... moreand the overall height is 28" This bell is an amazing piece of history. I am starting this auction at 99 cents with no reserve. The ship bell is approximately 7 1/2" x 6 7/8" x 8" and weighs in at 8 lbs 2 oz. The clapper hangs approximately 1 3/4" below the bell mouth. When I noticed the black color of the bell I originally suspected it was iron but it is non magnetic and I can see green oxidizing on the underside of the bell. Vintage Bell Ship Nautical Marine Boat brass or bronze 5 inch diameter
This auction is for a nice. Vintage, bell. Not sure if it's brass of bronze, but probably one of those. If you don't own a boat, it would make a nice dinner bell for those big family dinners. It measures about 4.5 inches tall and 5 inches across the base. Mounting is super easy as you only have to unscrew the top from the clapper(inside the bell) then put screws in the flat base into a post(or something flat) then reconnect the bell using the top of the clapper to the mounting portion.
