The person I bought it from in Maine said that it came from a Lobster Boat. The bell has no cracks or chips and has great patina. I did not attempt to clean the bell and the white spot on one side looks like a bird(probably Seagull) dropping. The stein measures 7.5 inches in diameter at the base. And is 6.75 inches high. Nice old ships bell. With a wonderful loud clear ring! Diameter of the widest part of the bell is 6 1/4" and about 4 1/2" in height. Up for a NO RESERVE AUCTION is this old solid brass bell. Probably came off of an old ship. If anyone has any information on this bell or Leon Bergen please share it with me. I would really appreciate your time& effort. There is no major damage to this bell other than small dents and dings and I hope you are able to see them in my pictures. The photo showing the inside of the bell shows minor roughness along the outer edge of the bell's rim. This roughness is hard to see other than the inside view. The bell rings loud and long. My neighbors will attest to it's loudness. The bell is in as found condition and I have not attempted to polish it. I love this old bronze looking patina. The bell weighs in at 34 pounds. Antique Vanduzen & Tift Ships School Bell Nautical Brass or Bronze W/ Eagle
A very nice great quality ships bell made in to a lamp. Possibly school or fireman related? It is un-signed. Believed to be made by Vanduzen& Tift, very similar in design and proportions. The large cast brass eagle slides in top, looks very nice, might not be original to bell? Sits on a turned wood base and 3 small feet. The feet have some heavier losses, see picture# 7. Bell portion is bronze I believe, rest of metal appears to be brass. Bell has a nice"ring" to it when tapped. Measures approx. 18" tall with eagle. Bell is 9" diameter. Heavy, weighs 14 lbs. Antique Original Ships Bell From Navy "!sis" Ship - 1902
For sale is a very rare and original item. This is an antique 1902 ships bell from the USC&GS"Isis" This steamer was built in 1902 for William S. and John T. Spaulding of Boston. She was built by Marvel's Yard at Newburg NY and launched on Dec. 10. 1901. She was then fitted out at Fletcher's Ship Yard in Hoboken NJ and completed in 1902. It served from 1917-1919 in the U.S. Navy during WWI. It was lost on the Florida Coast as a result of striking a submerged object during hydrographic surveys. On more than one occasion she helped rescue mariners in distress. All this and more can be found on Wikipedia. The bell itself. I believe, is cast bronze and measures 10 inches tall and is 8 inches wide at the bottom of the bell. The weight is approx. 10lbs. The clapper is original, but I don't think the chain is. The bell was polished and baked enameled so that it wouldn't tarnish. This was done about 20 years ago. The wrought iron was also restored at the same time. VTG Antique BELL CREST cast iron metal Maritime Nautical SHIPS School 18th cent.
This is a very old antique bell with a raised pattern that looks like it may have been a crest. It is either a nautical/ maritime ship or school or farm bell. I am not sure if the metal is cast iron or possibly bronze or brass- it is too old to tell probably dating to 18th-19th century. It has a crack on the lower half below the crest(similar to the Liberty Bell) but is still very sturdy and adds to the charm. It is missing the clanger or clapper which I believe can be easily obtained. It measures 4" high. It is as-is and is really very charming. Thank you for looking. Nice old brass bell that was used on an early ship or possibly a fire truck or fire wagon. Despite its age the bell is in nice useable condition and will be an excellent addition to ones maritime collection. The bell is heavy and thick. Made of solid brass and has not been polished. It has its original patina. The clapper is made of thick iron and has deep pits from years of ocean exposure. The tone is beautiful and sounds as if you are traveling on an early day sailing ship. For sale is a very rare find. This is an original cast iron ships bell from the steamer ship Isis. This ship was operated by the Coast and Geodetic Survey and was considered the most beautiful of the ships it operated. It was also used by the Navy during WWI. It was lost off the coast of Florida in 1920 when it struck a submerged object. The bell measures 9 1/2 inches tall and is 8 1/4 inches in diameter at the base. It has the name"ISIS" cast into it along with other decorative embellishments. This is the original bell that was found in Key West FL. The papers that tell about the ship are included with the bell.

Measures 7 1/2" tall, 27" in diameter, lower section of bell measures 8" has a 6" long clapper, 6" braided Sailors knot tied ball pull, bracket measures 2 1/2" x 2" It is marked PERKO on the bracket. This rare bell could be cleaned up nice and shinny or kept with the patina original to the age of the bell. Original ships bell from the SS ANGOLA. A Elder Dempster& Company ship which sunk on Cape Breton Island in 1906 with no loss of life. The bell weighs 24 lbs and measures approx. 13" from bottom of bracket to top of finial.The bell is 7-1/2" high x 10" diameter.
