This beautiful Classic bell was found in a Gloucester estate where I was told and it was once on a Gloucester Massachusetts yacht. I was able to clean and shine the chrome with a metal polish. More polishing work could be done to fully restore the beauty of this bell. The bell itself is 4½̎ tall and the base of the bell measures 5¾̎ round. For auction today is this awesome Vintage Perko Chromed Bronze Maritime Bell. Catalog nr 420 6. This was an estate find in Norfolk. Virginia. A Captain in the U.S. Navy owned it previously. This signal bell is great when fog conditions require you to alert other vessels that you are near. The bell is polished. There is some pitting on the arm and it is missing the mounting bracket but that is normal from what I've seen with others. The bell is 5 3/4" in diameter at the bottom. This auction pictures a old fog bell- ship/ boat signal bell. Made by and marked PERKO. US Coast Guard approved. Nice condition. No dents, some oxidation on the clapper, rope ring missing. Measures 6 inches in diameter and 4 inches tall. This has not been cleaned. But should buff just fine. Once cleaned your ready to use it. Great piece of history. Up for auction is this Antique PERKO solid brass Maritime ships bell. It weighs six(6) pounds. Measures 7 1/2" tall, 27" in diameter, lower section of bell measures 8" has a 6" long clapper, 6" braided Sailors knot tied ball pull, bracket measures 2 1/2" x 2" It is marked PERKO on the bracket. This rare bell could be cleaned up nice and shinny or kept with the patina original to the age of the bell. Either way, this bell is a real"catch" you don't find them very often in this great of condition. Would be a great addition for a Maritime theme décor.
