Primitive antique foot stool wooden bench 2 layers of vintage textile cover
Cutest little footstool! All wood with chippy paint and a cloth-covered top with two layers of textiles that appear to be original. The seat pad is detached. See the pictures for the best description of the fabric- its a dusty rose color with a woven floral pattern, feels like a cotton texture and there are no rips but it shows its age. There is another layer of fabric underneath this covering but I did not remove the top cover to investigate. Both textiles are held in place with small tacks and are intact enough to clean up or add your own layer of history- perhaps a needlepoint. No weird/bad smell. Dimensions are 14" long by 10" wide by 7" tall at the frame plus about 3/4" for the pad. The joints and nails are in good condition but I would not plan to use this as a step stool(unless by a child) I did not find any splits ... moreor cracks in the wood frame and all of the nail heads look alike(a little rusty) so no signs of modern repairs. Just an adorable little ole thing! Very charming and functional; picture this holding your stack of books next to a favorite reading chair. Great primitive decorator piece! Lovely curve to the legs and beautiful wood grain. I do not know different types of wood so I am not sure what type it is. This piece is in absolutely excellent vintage condition and doesn't look like it was used much at all. There is only one tiny nick on one side the size of a flea. There are 4 Stools Included in this Lot. It is a mix of vintage and antique. Please examine the pictures and ask questions as I am not an authority. 1. This stool has 4 claw feet. It is approximately 12" high and the top is approximately 12" by 12" Under the outer flowered cover is a quilted cotton partial pad. Then a black, shiny/slick pad, and then, at one corner and along the edges, you can see underneath the black pad some brownish sort of like straw( stuff. 2. This stool has an oval top that is approximately 15" long and 9" at the widest part. From ground level to top of stool. It is approximately 7 1/4" high. There is some kind of material(padding? under the cover that is light brown-I think you can see it in the picture. 3. The littlest stool is approximately 5" high and approx. 5" in diameter. ... more4. The rectangular stool is approx. 8 1/4" high and measures approx. 16 1/2" long and approx. 11 1/4" wide. If you look at the picture of it upside down. You will see that underneath is a brown fuzzy material with the yellow material over it. I do not know what is under the brown material. Vintage foot stool with a maroon cross stitch padded top. Maroon cover has pink roses with green leaves in the center. Base in very good condition. some of the tan background cloth does show thru the stitches in spots and there is a small flaw in the stitching underneath the roses next to a small green leaf to the right of it. The leather? is in overall good condition for it's age. The stitching is in need of slight repair, it has pulled over years. Old stool, in great antique condition.
