Cast iron stool appears to have its original dark green paint with black and gold highlights(see photos) The design of the cast iron work appears to have some Eastlake pierced open work grill design. In addition to the ornate Victorian drape effect of oak leaves and the scrollwork feet, and the flowing/swirling Art Nouveau oak leaf and vine designs. Appears to have original pine or soft wood cover top. With is covered with the original straw– the straw covered with remnants of original jute material. The jute is covered with a 1930s era cloth material. And covering this material is a worn dark forest green velvet. The wood stool top is easily recoverable if new owner should so desire. Heavy piece– weights about 16 pounds. Markings: impressed numbers“25” and“5” on underside of stool. Impressed into cast iron. Dimensions: stool measures about 17” inches diagonally(corner to opposite corner) And about 14” inches wide(x) 14” inches long(measuring at widest part of stool from outside foot to outside foot) Stands approximately 8 3/4” inches in height including wood velvet covering. Condition: Antique. Previously used. Overall very good to excellent antique condition. See photos. Appears to have original dark forest green paint with black and gold highlights. No broken. This auction is for an 1889 Singer sewing machine. It is serial number 9174 229 and has what I believe is called the rose and cornflower design and it is fiddle based. I sew but don't know much about vintage Singers so please email me if you have any questions the pictures can answer. It has a cast iron base with metal wheels and nice wood cabinet with 2 drawers on each side and a front drawer. The front drawer has one of the wood pieces off. But it is present and would be easy to glue back on. The base has no rust but some chipping of the original paint. the side decorations on the base still have some gold paint showing. The wood cabinet has nice styling and a flip up side table. It has some veneer missing from the top. Especially on the right rear corner. Another drawer hold a metal velvet lined tin made by Singer and full of feet and attachments, most of which I don't recognize. There are also some tiny black wooden spools and two throat plates. The machine works. I didn't sew on it but when you turn the wheel the needle goes up and down smoothly and you can see the feed dogs moving too. The treadle moves freely and sets the big lower wheel spinning nicely. I didn't attach the leather cord and try it that way. The machine has some chips in the paint and wear on the decals. All normal type wear I believe. The picture of the back side of the machine was too dark as I was taking it into the sunlight, but it looks the same as the front. Two of the drawer pulls are missing the loop and the top left drawer has some pinpricks in the wood at the top. It is also missing the wooden coffin style top cover for the machine. Measurements: the top of the table is 29 inches from the ground and it is 34 inches long and 16 inches wide. The machine is 9.75 inchs tall from the base to the top of the wheel. The cage is made of brass. There is mesh on the bottom half of the cage. There is a bottom plate that has been enamel painted( some paint loss) 2) Glass feeders. Original perches and swing. This cage measures 17 1/2" high and is 14" in diameter. The painted(some paint loss) stand has a cast iron base that has Acanthus leaves on i t. It comes apart into 3 sections. This is a very. Very old cigar cutter that was bolted to a countertop in a store in the 1800's. The blade is iron, as is the adjustable, sliding stop. The base is hardwood. The stop can be set at whatever length was needed, there are lined increments with stamped numbers from 3" through 6" with fractional divisions by eigths inbetween. The cigar was placed in the"cradle" the concave area where the stop slides, to prevent the cigar from rolling. There are two drilled holes where bolts fastened the devise to the counter in the store. meteorite rock, slightly magnetic/iron based mostly rocky alluvial worn? tektite
For the record I'm not an expert on meteorites/ tektites but I've watched the meteorite hunting shows before and have read up a little about them. This one I found in my garden.it's actually one of two I found but I can't find the other that was in my front yard. This one has been sitting half buried on the surface of my garden for years and I've looked at it and not bothered to dig it up. It's lighter on one side than the other because of our hard water mineral deposits and probably also exposure to the sun and elements. The photos on the paper towel are of the stone slightly damp to show it's actually darker than it appears like a meteorite. I've tilted the rock on its side away from a rare earth magnet to see if it attracts and it does, it's slight but there's iron in it. It's got a lot of little ... morecraters/pock marks but appears overall slightly oval so I think this one might have been eroded a bit by sand and water( I live between two rivers in a valley) It's slightly less than 2" long by slightly less than 1.5" wide and weighs 37.8 grams. I don't know what other info to give, but if you have questions I'll try to answer them. I'm sure a bath in some vinegar or lemon juice will help get off the calcium mineral deposits but I didn't want to attempt this in case it reduces its value or something.sort of like old coins lol idk. I've read that rocky meteorites are actually worth more than the metallic iron/nickel kind because they're harder to find since the metal detector may not pick them up.I don't know if it would this one or not?

Originally, only masonry was given the corbel name, while wooden structures of the same purpose were called"braggers" or"tassels. Progressively, the corbel moniker began being applied to a wider range of materials, and today, anything with a load bearing or an aesthetic function which resembles the original stone corbel is given the name. Wood corbels have long been an integral part of architectural design in China, where together with unique structural elements such as interlocking wooden brackets( dougong) they are one of the most important elements in traditional Chinese architecture. While dougong were originally structural. And became decorative, ... morecorbels were seen as mainly decorative, though also structural. However, the focus slowly changed and design became a primary feature.
