Antique Prayer Bench Religious Solid Wood! Vintage! Church Pew! REDUCED!
Very cool& hard to come by solid wood prayer bench. This piece is very heavy. Local pickup preferred. However I will work with a shipping company if you set it up& pay them directly. I'll help in anyway I can. Item located about 100 miles southwest of Chicago IL Measures 40.5" tall at highest point. 25.5" wide& 16.5" deep. This piece is old. I'm not sure of the age though. I found this at a sale& planned on redoing it. But I have too many projects going on right now& need the space. These are rare! You won't find another like this for sale. Very unique piece. Please see all pics. Needs some minor refinishing. Bottom is a little loose& could use a nail. Side decorative pieces have pieces broken off. Overall very solid! Probably weighs 50 pounds. Vintage 1875 Antique Wood Church Pew Song Book Bible Hymnal Rack Holder #1
Beautiful Wooden Church Pew Songbook Holder This appears to be made of walnut- even the wood on the backside without varnish is a beautiful dark color. However. I am no wood expert! This rack has a small split of wood missing from the bottom slat. Please see the pictures provided for a better idea of what I see. Measures a total of 29" long. Bracketts on the end measure 8" tall(at the back) and 2 3/4" wide. The area where the slats are across the front are 3 1/2" tall. The clearance where the book itself slides into the rack is 1 3/4" deep. With the 2 large outside pockets measuring 11 3/8" wide. The center pocket measures 4" wide. Still has the original square nails in the back where they were attached to the pews. I purchased this from a local church that was originaly built in 1875. When they relocated ... morea few years ago. The antique furnishings were sold, which is how I came to own them. Would make a great book or plate rack! The back does not sit flat to the wall vut has a piece curved to a pew. I used a coping saw to cut the curved edges so that it would lay flat against my wall. Looks querky and just the most awesome size. There is something on the front. looks like maybe it was a wood filler or paint? not sure but it can be seen in pictures.
